Pose As Rose

I have recently started getting testers before buying perfumes, in hopes to not buy something id hate later blindly (yippee!). Now as it is with most perfumes, they can be checked out in the stores, but where i live its rather hard to find someone just out and about selling arabic perfumes, most of the time theyre only available online. so with this new option id always fill my cart with testers, always throwing this one out in the end. that happened maybe two or three times, until i finally got this one too. and thats when i realized how wrong i was earlier. this one ended up being my favorite out of the bunch. this was maybe the second time ever when id empty a tester this fast. i immediatelly went back to the online store, only to find out its been taken off the shelves. luckily managed to find a nearly full bottle on vinted, and snatched it immediately. it took some will power to not start crawling up the wall while waiting, but i feel now that its finally in my hands, i can foam at the mouth about it, without the fear of jinxing it lol. the rose and violet combo in this one has awakened the long lost love in me that i had for this combination and made me crave that more than ever. while waiting for this beauty to arrive, i found my abandoned bottle of insolence, that i thankfully hadnt gotten rid off, and it has helped me to get my fix up until this moment. they resemble each other a bit, with insolence smelling sligtly more mature, powdery and cold, while Pose as Rose smells like a lighter, fresher, and more cheerful version of it. ive never sniffed the original, but i am fully content with the impression tthat this one left on me. in short - wonderful, amazing, im crying throwing up out of sheer joy. get this if you like insolence, or similar fragrances with prominent violet note, that are kind of on a brighter happier side

I have Rose Cherie, which I absolutely love. Out of hundreds of beautiful perfumes that I own, that scent is my #1 and I wear it at least 3 times a week. I was looking for a good alternative that I could wear on work days and save the original for special occasions since I put a dent in that bottle quickly. I came across Pose as Rose and decided to try it. Y'all... this IS Rose Cherie! It is so spot on, that I'm honestly not sure I would be able to tell them apart in a blind test even though I own both. The only differences are that Pose as Rose is maybe not as complex, but it has better longevity and better sillage by a bit. The fragrance is such a gorgeous powdery rose with violet and heliotrope. If you're not a fan of powdery florals, this may not be for you, but you are missing out. It smells so clean and fresh, but delicate at the same time. It's a very feminine fragrance, something I would envision a princess wearing. I wore it to work today and a coworker walked in the office and as soon as she opened the door, she said "Wow it smells amazing in here - I know it has to be you!". She wanted me to write down the name of it because she loved it so much. If you're looking for a less expensive alternative to Rose Cherie, Pose as Rose willl be your go to!

I have a bottle of Guerlain’s Rose Cherie and was really starting to panic at how low it was getting since it was gifted to me and I absolutely cannot afford another bottle. I hope I don’t get dogpiled for what I’m about to say but.... I think I like Pose as Rose better? For me, Rose Cherie has an extremely strong—almost overwhelming— soapy opening. The word “pungent” comes to mind cause it almost burns my nose until it dries down. I absolutely love the fragrance and as long as I apply modestly (I’m generally an over-sprayer), Rose Cherie is a masterpiece for me.... Pose as Rose almost feels a bit more modernized and definitely less soapy in the opening, and that’s why I’m thinking I might like it more. Either way, I’d say this is a great dupe if you want to smell like Rose Cherie! The difference between the 2 is negligible in my honest opinion and I truly believe 98% of people would think this was Rose Cherie if they smelled it on you. That’s just my oPiNiOn 🩶

I just got this (impression for Rose Cherie Guerlain) and Dark as wood (impression of Bois d’Armenie Guerlain, discontinued now) and they are both very good, especially for their price. I own the original Bois d’Armenie as well as the original Rose Cherie in decants and I have to say these are definitely dupes. There might be an extra in finesse or complexity for the originals, also longevity wise, but the scent profile is nearly identical. I am assuming they were not successful on the market because the originals are quite niche and not hyped. But I am super happy to own them both and they are my third Arabian perfumes, so I am not usually that much into dupes. The other one I own and like is Ana Abyied Poudree, a very good sister to Black Tie.

It's a coquettish splash of red raspberry rosewater and almond extract flirting with candied violet in an angora musk sweater. I didn't think I liked unabashedly feminine sweet scents like this but it has won me over. Dominant notes to me are violet and tonka with a smudge of heliotropin and a dash of raspberry. The rose is there, underlying but muted. The overall sweetness of the scent gives the illusion of more rose so the name is apt. It's sweet but not cloying. The raspberry keeps the floral fresh and tart and heliotropin rounds out the scent and fluffs everything up. It's a good scent profile for spring.

This smells like a refreshing, sparkling raspberry juice with rose water and some powder. It has a refreshing yet cozy feel to it. I am really enjoying the scent. The only issue I have is the rough opening that chokes me out. But it settles down nicely. The tester I tried in the store was not rough on the initial spray so I'm hoping the initial opening will eventually soften. Update: 6/10/2025 I got rid of this one. Once it sat on skin for maybe an hour, it became a sweet musky scent. Maybe it's the tonka. But I couldn't smell any of the initial berry, rose goodness and that tonka took over. It also triggered my sinuses and was also long lasting and not in a good way. I had to let this one go to another home.

Fresh rose is my favorite scent. However, this is not a rose fragrance to my nose. After the first minute through the entire drydown, this is a sweet candied violet scent. Not as sweet as Mallow, but still primarily a sweet candy violet. I’m the very deep drydown, it become more powdery, but also quite faint. I think it would be a nice fragrance if you are a fan of sweet violet- I don’t think it should be named rose though.

#1724 in my “Tour de Fragrance” Sample sprayette from scentwithsense.com Definitely not for men. Not a bad scent. I’m just not a fan of powdery rose scents like this which come off like something my grandmother would have worn. She was a big fan of Avon “To a Wild Rose” since Avon delivered to the Methodist Old Folks Home where she spent her final years. I really don’t see a young woman wearing this, but tastes change.

Bottle is totally gorgeous but the smell isn’t for me. I love powdery sweet fragrances. but this is pure talc to me. I get no sweetness - and it’s grandma vibes. Doesn’t seem strong or last lasting either. I’ll reevaluate after it’s sat a while but initially this is a blind but fail. White as tuberose on the other hand - total winner out the gate.

i really liked this scent when i first sprayed it, but now it smells like a very old wood cabinet but with a rose & powder smell

I'm convinced I got a bad batch because there is NO WAY this is supposed to smell like this, & there's people actually enjoying it. It straight up smells like a hair salon or when you dye your hair. That awful smell of ammonia. It is awful awful awful. I really wanted to love this & thought I would based on the notes, but...... Absolutely not.

Tried today in Guerlain Plaza Indonesia, Pose as Rose is definitely Rose Cherie alternate with better performance. Stays on my skin for hours. And to be fair, Pose as Rose reminiscing me of Bvlgari Rose Essentielle too

Rose Chérie but less complex or less guerlinade (but still nice dupe) or My Insolence but long long grandchild
