Posh Malt

Update 02/26/25: I finally gave away the Star Men Nebula and kept the Posh Malt. After 3 months of maturation, I couldn't tell them apart and I couldn't decide which one to keep. I just preferred the Posh Malt bottle. Update 01/20/25: I like this profile so much that I decided to buy another clone that is also from Fragrance World: Posh Malt. My goal is to determine which one I prefer and keep only one. After 2 months of maturation for the Posh Malt, I can say that the SMN and the PM are very very close and hard to separate. The Posh Malt seemed a little fresher to me and the Star Men, a little darker. That said, it was very subtle. I will retest it in about a month and update my comment. On the website of my favorite discounter, the Posh Malt is cheaper. Also, I prefer the Posh Malt bottle to the SMN one which looks a bit cheap. INITIAL REVIEW: It's a twist on the discontinued A*Men Pure Malt. I currently have Posh Malt in my collection and I love it. In my +- 50 fragrances, it's one of my favorites, even though it's one of the least expensive one in my collection, which includes some high-priced niche fragrances. The sillage is well above average for the first hour and a half, then remains slightly above average for another 2-3 hours. Longevity is very good on my skin: after 10 hours, I can still easily smell it by bringing my forearms close to my nose. If you like the profile, it's an excellent value for money. For a comparison with Pure Malt, see below. BTW, I had Star Men Nebula (another twist on Pure Malt) and I gave it to a friend. The reason is simply that I had to choose between Nebula and Posh Malt, which, to my nose, are identical. I just preferred the Posh Malt bottle... (Note: I had the Star Men Nebula a year before buying the Posh Malt. When I first received the Posh Malt, I could tell them apart, but after about two or three months, I couldn't see any difference between the two... yes, maturation) I also had a decant of A*Men Pure Malt (used for comparison tests...). For those who would like more details about my observations on Star Men Nebula, Posh Malt and A*Men Pure Malt, here is a copy of the review I wrote on the Star Men Nebula page on 01/04/25 (What I wrote for Nebula also applies to Posh Malt): "Star Men Nebula vs A*Men Pure Malt: I have the Star Men Nebula since September 2023 and in my 50+ fragrances, it's one of my favorites. Before buying the Star Men Nebula, I had the opportunity to smell the A*Men Pure Malt on a scent strip and I really liked it. 6 months after purchasing the SMN, I had the opportunity to compare them side by side many time on my skin. I was really looking forward to doing this test because I couldn't get out of my head that I would perhaps appreciate the OG even more than SMN and that it might be worth paying the high price tag. Well, no, not at all actually, I really prefer the Nebula and I would describe this one more as a twist on the Pure Malt than a clone: they are close but are also quite different. Both have a similar notes, but the patchouli in the Pure Malt has a pronounced earthy tar note that is part of many A*Men fragrances. Some people appreciate this note, but personally, I don't like it on my skin and this note is not present in the Nebula. Also, Nebula is sweeter, and the malt note is brighter. As a result, I find the Nebula has a much more gourmand profile witch I really appreciate. I'm glad I don't have to buy the original after all. I have some clones in my collection which are extremely close to the originals and in this sense, Nebula is not a good clone. But it is a good fragrance which has its own profile, inspired by A*Men Pure Malt. From a performance point of view, given that the Nebula is sweeter, I feel the projection is slightly better, but in both cases, it remains moderate. In terms of longevity, the Pure Malt last longer as a skin scent, but the longevity with effective projection is similar and remains slightly above average for both. Seriously, if you like this type of profile, the Nebula is so affordable that you shouldn't hesitate to try it.

Finally this being added to fragrantica , it's absolutely good for the price. Posh Malt by fragrance world, a clone of the discontinued Mulger A*men pure malt. Speaking of the appearance, the bottle looks nice and clean, cap doesn't click but fine, looks much better than the star men nebula from the same brand but the juices reduces from 100ml to 80ml is kinda dissapointed The smell ? I think it's kinda close to the original A*men pure malt. On the opening, imagine you are pouring orange flavor malt into a whiskey glass with lots of spice on the egde, boozy, spicy, oriental, slightly fruity is what i get, make really punchy, not really well blended and balanced so i would say it's kinda unique and not blind buy safe, the opening is much less fruiter and also a bit less whiskey than A*men pure malt. As it dries down, i get spicy, smoky, bitter smell from wood and somewhat of mud ? smell kinda weird and make me think of the smell of old whiskey barrel, the fruity notes disappear from now and after about 3 hours on my skin, it turn into a vanilla mix with pepper and woody, boozy and spicy kind of scent the vanilla is not overwhelming but still slighty sweeter than Pure Malt, smell really nice and pleasant. As for the performance, i get around 7-8h with this one, not ground breaking, with strong projection of 1-2h after spray and moderate from 3h+ on skin. Recommended weather: Winter, Fall, Spring (25oC ,below 25 degrees Celsius) Recommended age : 27+ Places: Going out, Dating, Clubbing, Just don't use this for school or work The price: I got it on sale at 26$ for 80ml bottle in Vietnam Overall: An underated clone and get about 85% close to A*men pure malt, slightly better and more matured because of the spices, not a safe blind buy, sample before buying Disclaimer: This scent need to be macerated for around 3-4 months until it's get the right smell, the first time i smell it, i a really citrusy and fruity smell, almost tricked me into thinking this is a bad clone and a summer scent, but it's not, let the bottle sit for a long time and you will get what it's really is Scent: 9/10 Performance: 8/10 Price: 10/10

posh malt smells very slightly better then Star Men Nebula in my opinion maybe less harsh then it

all I can say is that the drydown of this is so beautiful, it's worth buying it just for that.

Yeah this stuff is great especially for the price. It's patchouli heavy to my nose, but all the notes give off a whiskey vibe ...and it's great to layer this with tobacco scents to give off a really amazing scent, especially for date nights or a mixer. Excellent scent and value
