Varakh Gold

Love at first sniff. I truly adore this frag. So i've never experienced what this is apparently cloning, I tend to not like Paco Rabanne frags across the board and honestly my frame of reference is that it smells quite similar to "Oud for Greatness". The core oud note is very similar, not animalic at all, and there are other similar notes but what makes it disimilar is the lack of lavender, but the addition of Iris - pepper - bergamot - cedar and the nutmeg in this is just wonderful. Which all makes this more ......... rich ? Cozy ? I think those are the words i'm looking for. Not gourmand. Not decadent. It's also got a powdery note towards the base So, more to the point, Varakh Gold is amazing value. It's spicy, slightly floral, with a delicious nutmeg note and very woody. It lasts, it really lasts on clothes for a good 8 hours at least and certainly projects well. The bottle itself is really beautiful and while the glitzy "gold" plate on the front (I actually don't know which side is the front because the opposite side has the name of the frag on a small, indented gold strip) is made of plastic, it still looks really amazing and does not feel cheap or crappy in the hand. Also a great atomiser as well. I got this for super cheap, and it was very well worth it. Very happy with it.

Don’t know how close it is to golden oud, it was a bit much for me at first, but a bit of maceration done the trick, very nice!

Nose Note #775 Every time I wear it the only thing that comes to mind is Lattafa Mohra. Maybe less christmassy, but it's similarly woody and red berrish. It's kind of inbetween Mohra and French Avenue Haydan - leather, oud and saffron are the most prominent notes to me. The less so are patchouli and black pepper. Is it a mens fragrance? No, not exactly. If you know Mohra, then I'll understand Varakh Gold. Varakh is definately more challanging and somewhat annoying to me - something Mohra never was. It's distantly reminding me of Oud Wood. Maybe because oud here is fruity (giving the scent of a red berry). 6.6/10, interesting, but not my cup of Mohra

Similar to SWY Oud but more amped up woods, spices and resins . Received today and smells high quality straight out of the box. No skanky or harsh smell but will let it sit for a while. AND you get a beautiful bottle!

To oversimplify, this smells like a very dark and masculine musk that's subtly sweet. This smells like Tom Ford Oud Wood with a very slight touch of 1 Million EDT honey sweetness. I understand this is supposedly a clone of 1 Million Golden Oud, but I haven’t smelt that one. (Update: I now own the other Fragrance World clone of 1 Million Golden Oud and both FW bottles smell the same.) What you get in here is a dark creaminess of vanilla-cardamom like in Tom Ford Oud Wood, but not as prominent and invigorating, and also tinged with sweet honey. And a creamy style of oud that's only ever-so-slightly animalic (essentially not animalic, same as Tom Ford Oud Wood, and totally office safe). In the mid, a very subtle cool-air musk from the iris further smoothens the already-smooth composition. Nothing groundbreaking here. This smells good, dark, creamy, very masculine, modern, and a touch sexy (a bit sexy but not all that sexy). Suitable for the office and gives an aura of authority and is just a touch ominous. All seasons except for summer.

Have yet to sample Golden Oud but if you like Halfeti, this is in that neighborhood. It's a spicy, woody scent with the 1 million style sweetness. The quality here is good - no harshness. It's an easy-to-wear, designer oud scent that feels a little like a PDM release. I don't love it, but I'm sure lots of people will.

Who is running this site? If you know anything about anything in frags you would know this is isn't a woman's frag, its not even a unisex frag, but a full on MEN'S FRAGRANCE. Obviously ran by violent fems with something to prove......

Mine has this skanky animalic opening From the reviews I’ve heard it’s not supposed to be like that, I think I have a bad batch or bottle.

Confused as to why this says its for ladies? It's a copy of one million oud!!
