Caru

I adore this fragrance. Absolutely gutted that Fragrances of Ireland discontinued it last season. However, the lovely staff at FoI very kindly sent me half a dozen sample vials, it was the last of their remaining stock, I'll try my best to make it last! I do love fragrances with woody base notes and this one hits the spot.The vetiver isnt too cloying as it can be in some scents, the cedar and patchouli gives just the right combination of warmth. The first spray gives you a lovely late summer berry hit, that'll be the raspberry, delicious! The floral middle notes of freesia, rose and lily of the valley are very understated, just enough to soften the heady woods and resins. This is early autumn in a bottle. A comforting soft scent reminiscent of long walks with leaves starting to crunch underfoot. The warmth of the fading sun, the fruit harvest and those evening bonfires. I'm going to miss this one.

Caru! I adore Caru. It's beautiful. Such a beautiful fruity, woody mix. It is one of my favourite perfumes. It's so delicious. The fresh crisp green smell of summer at the beginning, with the lovely fruit, and then the beautiful iris and freesia, such lovely rich flowers, and the berries adding more depth and a rich tang, and then the yummy cozy warm vanilla with amber and wood, really makes me feel I'm being wrapped in someone's warming loving arms. It's a wonderful feeling. The perfume really does evoke a feeing of being in love for me. I really love this gem. And I have no problem with the lasting power; it stays lovely and strong for 15 hours, and then I put more on. I love it. And I wear it to bed too. It's gorgeous to go to sleep with. Such a comforting smell. And I LOVE the gorgeous bottle. It's my very favourite. It's so beautiful.

So sad to learn that Fragrances of Ireland have discontinued it, I'd love to find another bottle somewhere. It was the most amazing perfume, and there is nothing else like it - please bring it back! Beneath a top note of red berry, it smelled just like a walk in the autumn forest - woody, mossy, with a hint of autumn leaves and berries. I can't think of another perfume that is so beautifully natural and evocative. Probably the closest to it is Si by Armani, which has red fruit and wood notes. In a different and more summery way, Lalique Amethyst - in that it makes you feel like you are walking through the brambles, picking berries, in the summer. But there is nowhere yet I've found that beautiful autumnal forest scent - has anyone? And, for me, it really did carry the spirit of Ireland - if you could bottle memories, this was it.

The best and nothing like it ! CARU is a rich floral fragrance, yet while there is great warmth and depth to the scent, there is also a wonderful energy and freshness to it that will surprise you. Inspired by the change of seasons, when the rich aromas of harvest and last blooms of the summer still scent the air, CARU whispers of warmth and richness. Yet just as the autumnal air has a hint of freshness, there is a wonderfully crisp delicacy to CARU. Top notes of soft fruits and bergamot with juicy green notes keep the heart of red berries, jasmine, iris, freesia and rose fresh while a background of vanilla, patchouli, bittersweet ambers, fragrant woods and musk give an earthy soul to this romantic fragrance.

I had this quite a while ago. It was one that grew on me. It smelled very much like autumn to me. It was was warm, spicy, fruity, and woody. It reminded me of walking through the woods during autumn with some red berries attached to the bushes, brisk air, sun golden, and the woods and foliage dry from summer.

I saw this bottle in an old-school pharmacy in New York City (Ansonia Pharmacy on 6th Ave) and gave it a try. It's a lovely crisp fruity-wood scent, like autumn in a bottle, but it vanishes in an instant. If only it had better staying power, it would be worth what seemed like a very reasonable price tag.

My husband bought this for me one Valentine's day and it is an absolute favorite of mine. I'm surprised by the longevity ratings because I find that I can smell it on myself for many hours after I've first applied it. I have received so many compliments on this fragrance and know it will be one I always wear.

I am intrigued that there is an irish perfumery such as this, being I am of irish decent. Can't wait to try this!
