Voluptuous Oud

I would like to start by saying that Francesca Bianchi is one of my favorite perfumers and also one of my favorite perfume brands. Especially with the perfumes of the first collections: the lover's tale, sex & the sea.... Real unique bombs with exceptional performances. However, among their latest launches I can't find a fragrance that really creates a need for me to buy (considering that I already have many of them). And that is the case with voluptuous oud. I love the perfume itself. It's one of those perfumes that smell good. Woody, caramelized, slightly fruity and woody, and with that special touch of leather that Francesca gives to her fragrances but, for me, it's too conventional a scent, more so coming from her. It is as if lately she is looking to expand her sales radius by creating softer and more commercial fragrances, following more the fashion and tastes of most people at the moment. And a funny thing that happens to me is that in these latest launches they all look too much like others to me. It happened to me with byzantine amber, a perfume that I loved but that reminded me of a much softer version of The dark Side, a perfume I already own. Then it happened to me with Encounters, a perfume that by scent would be one of my favorites, but that resembles too much to two others I already had: Divine perversion and Luxe Calme volupte, that yes, again with a much lower performance.... 1678 / 1500 Traducción And voluptuous oud was not going to be different. In this case I have to say that the top notes managed to seduce me. A licoricey, citrusy and sweet top note but with a slight animalic touch produced by the oud. "It seems that Francesca is taking a risk again, and I love it...". But no, it was just a mirage and immediately the intensity dropped to lead me to a perfume that I already have in my collection "Divine perversion". Actually VO is like DP but changing the raspberry for an oud note that only stands out at the top, because afterwards, as in the hedonik perfume, what stands out the most is the leather and caramel. Does it smell good? It smells great, in fact that's why I gave it the highest score here. Does it perform well? Compared to Francesca's initial perfumes you notice quite a big drop but still, if you compare it to other niche brands of similar or even higher price range the performance is still good, just not exceptional as before Would I buy it? Well, the answer is that I honestly would not. Although I liked the output I do not see sense having Divine perversion because for the price range it seems to me a high investment for unfrute that lasts about 15 minutes. I think that if you don't have Divine Perversion or The Black Knight in your collection and you are looking for a sweet leather perfume with touches of oud easy to wear, it can be a very good option since Francesca always offers a very good quality fornthe PRICE. Anyway, although I don't dislike it, it becomes a new "pass" for me. And it makes me very sad since I'm looking forward to find a new Francesca perfume that I fell in love with. We will continue to wait...

Francesca Bianchi has a knack for crafting fragrances that are both daring and deeply personal, and Voluptuous Oud is no exception. My Overall Impression: Voluptuous Oud is a testament to Francesca Bianchi's artistry. It's a fragrance that is both complex and wearable, perfect for those who appreciate bold, unconventional scents. With its unique blend of oriental and woody notes, it's sure to leave a lasting impression. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! Especially to those who enjoy: Oud fragrances with a softer, more approachable character. Sweet and gourmand notes balanced with woody and leathery accords. Unique and complex scents that tell a story.

I have sampled some FB perfumes before getting this and while I did appreciate her craft, I didn’t feel like I could wear one of her creations. I was hesitant to preorder this as my first FB bottle when I saw this has tolu balsam. In Angel’s Dust and Under my Skin this note alone was so prominent on skin I couldn’t enjoy the overall composition much. Still, I do love a good fruity oud in cold weather so I got a 30ml. I’m so glad I did ! Oud is the most noticeable here, supported by leather and fruity sweetness. The light citrus notes balance the caramel very well. Voluptuous Oud sweetens in the dry down but at no point does it become cloying, and the whole wear feels very smooth. Like gently tracing patterns on your lover’s skin. A very intimate interpretation of oud, far from the oriental style Rose-Spice-Oud perfumes. Very long wear, (8+ hrs), and soft projection on a couple sprays. I wouldn’t apply more as to me this is the kind of scent best enjoyed up close. Definitely sample this one if you’re into smooth ouds with a leathery fruity touch !

Yo no entiendo cómo hay gente que le gustan los perfumes de FB, de 14 perfumes que e probado de esta marca solo me gustaron 4, no quiere decir que los otros sean malos, transmiten sensaciones pero de ahí a qué sea un perfume que te guste y lo vayas a empezar a usar pues no. Para la gente normal o las que llevan poco tiempo en este mundillo no vale la pena comprar perfumes de este estilo ya que es tirar dinero pero..... Este perfume ( voluptuous oud ) vale la pena comprar ya que para mí es el número 1 de todos sus perfumes ( mi opinión). Si eres una persona que te gusta los perfumes dulces o de laud o afrutados pues este combina todo y es lo que destaca tanto de este perfume, en pocas palabras huelo muy rico. Me hubiera gustado ver reseñas de gente verdadera pero solo encuentras los típicos comentarios de gente que escribe cada perfume como si fuera el mejor del mundo con palabras profesionales como si el perfume hiciera un milagro, después de todo lo hacer por qué siempre hay INTERESES. BUENO NO ME DESVIO Y DIGO QUE ESTE PERFUME ES INCREÍBLE.

For just a moment, I was hit by the beast. Then, a refreshing citrus scent I had never imagined drifted into the air, then it shifted to the unexpected presence of caramel and plum, and at the base, I was drifting in a wave of very mellow oud. These scents hit me every time I move my body; sometimes plum, sometimes caramel, and the smooth oud makes me feel dreamy. The beast's eyes sometimes flash, which is also adorable. For some reason, it reminded me of the black-and-white movie "Beauty and the Beast" that I saw a long time ago. I like perfumes that stimulate the imagination. FRANCESCA BIANCHI is a genius, and has created another masterpiece.

I love Francesca Bianchi fragrances, especially this one. This is a gorgeous, complex masculine gourmand. It’s a powerful leathery oud bolstered by a warm caramel (simple toasted sugar). For me, this is not a animalic oud or a challenging wear. The projection is excellent and the longevity is several hours. That said, I definitely reapply and over-spray throughout the day because I love it so much. For me, it is both comforting and addictive. I’ll never be without a bottle.

Pure perfection 😍 The combination of caramel and plum gives the oud a honeyed syrupy feeling, but without being overly sweet. All the notes come together in perfect harmony. Another masterpiece from Francesca 🏆 It’s 100% unisex in my opinion. Longevity is great, I applied one spritz to my wrist and it’s still very much present after 9 hours. I absolutely need a bottle 🫶🏻

Extremely sexy drydown. Loads of sexy vanilla. I get the same amount of vanilla wafts of it as I do with Dior Homme Intense. Not gourmand, but close. I definitely get oud at first, but the drydown is steller!! Another hit

Did not know what to expect with this as this is the first FB scent I have tried. This is a winner for me and the sexiness rating of this is off the charts.

For me this scent is enjoyment. Juicy fruit notes blending with dirty oud. Personally it’s a hit. Love it!

It smells like oud ice cream. Personally, I really like it - it's a great contrast to the other oud I have, which is Amouage's Silver Oud. In that fragrance, a fairly rough, fecal, barnyardy opening smooths out into a rich and complex dark fragrance that projects confidence, mystery and opulence. Voluptuous Oud, on the other hand, is sweet, playful and a bit powdery. It's one of the least challenging interpretations of oud that I've come across whilst still being unmistakably oud. I don't get people who are saying this is some great betrayal of the brand - does every FB need to have that animalic, erotic accord? To me this fills a great spot for someone who really enjoys the smell of oud and appreciates its representation in a fragrance where it's balanced with vanillic softness rather than floral rose. The latter is usually the trick when you want to make oud more mass-appealing, so I think this one really works. I think this is unisex but for men you'd need to be comfortable wearing sweet gourmands. It's not an obviously masculine scent.

This one could make me fan of the brand! Nailed it, even though personally I like it more on women, it is usable for men nonetheless. Not overly sweet, not that stagnant DNA of older pieces. In the beginning (15 minutes directly after spraying) reminds me sort of gummy bear liquor or peachy vodka, then it starts to be more interesting. Mandarin does not perform as any bathroom refreshner, but adds this frosty fresh feeling with pleasant bitterness (reminds me of Chinotto), then plum adds juicyness, heliotrope performes as lightweighter that lifts it from the ground while leather, ouds, vetiver, caramel (all of that you can identify) perform as a solid dusty foundation and sweetness reducers, but dont go against sweet tones entirely. It is very nice perfume and it performes in sillage and longevity too. Try it on skin or even better on hair near neck line. Sophisticated, alluring and animalic though not using castoreum or similar animal extractions. Way to go Francesca and thank you!

I’ve tired VO both on blotter and on skin. Opening is very intense and interesting, there’s similarity with other FB’s fragrances, then after 30 min it calmed down and while on blotter it has kind of like stuck in this beautiful after-opening phase, on skin it turned into syropy sugary carmel with a touch of plum in the back, with no oud or FB’s animalic funkiness present. I’d give it a couple more wears just to see how it will react with natural changes on skin but as for now this fragrance feels like a good commercial option and lacks artistic appeal.

I wanna smell like... Last call: double rye on the rocks. Barkeep slipping you maraschino cherries and a wink with every drink. Tumbling out of a small music venue on a crisp evening, friends and lovers in tow. Warmed by loud sounds, loose lips, and heady intoxication. Lovedrunk on life.

smells like the better version of king blue by amouage, abit more safe and less cloying. nice and pleasant is all i can say..missing the FB signature orris butter and lacks originality but for king blue lovers? sure go for it

This would be so much better if the plum note lasted the entire wear. If it did, I would definitely buy a bottle; as is, I doubt I will, as it’s more of just a like, not a love.

Voluptuous Oud is one of the newest releases from Bianchi, one which is certainly unusual and a step in a strange direction compared to her usual creations. This is her first gourmand perfume, and what an interesting one it is, but I’m not sure I love it. It begins with fleeting citrus, before quickly developing a heart of fat, sticky plums which smell dried and syrupy, furthered and complemented by this almost sickly sweet note of caramel. All of this rests on a thick base of leather, and an overdose of sweet, powdery heliotrope which, when combined with that subtle bitter oud accord, comes across almost almond-y. It’s nice, it’s not at all unpleasant. However it’s not a love for me, which is unusual as I have loved almost everything from this house up until now. I just feel like gourmands are not Francesca’s strong suit, it’s not her usual style, but I commend her for taking that step into the unknown.

Initial spray: it has a heavy dense thick stinky caramel with a medicinal accord; something is off about it.. the oud is overdone. Smells spoiled and sour, like milk. It's a very rich but off-putting note that never goes away and remains throughout the life to the dry down. It's a feminine scent but stinky oud after the floral sweetness fades away; very dense and potent but not so pleasing, and Most people will probably have a negative first impression rather than be intrigued by the artistic composition. As it develops, the floral sweetness becomes more noticeable and softens the composition slightly, but the sour, overdone oud accord never fully disappears. The opening improves, but not enough to justify a full bottle for me. Its a very unique scent profile and will turn heads, caramel sweetness lingers in the drydown. Just not for me, it has no animalic side, just a "spoilt milk" Easily 12 hour longevity on my skin and I am guessing much longer on clothes; just don't exceed 3 sprays, it can easily overwhelm.

To be honest, I'm very disappointed. Until now, I was an absolute fan of the brand and was hoping for a good perfume with real oud, interpreted through Francesca's style. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out exactly like that. This is an unoriginal mass market perfume that many people will like. It's so sweet that you could get diabetes. It sits very chemically, especially after the first hour, where the artificial caramel note just kills the perfume. This is the first time I've gotten a headache from a creation by Francesca Bianchi. A huge NO!
