Ambrosine

The most special powdery amber there is. Bewitching in its profound base. Orange peel and cinnamon open the most boudoir, filtry heart of rose and delicate flowers. It tickles the nose...like a plumage in a burlesque private show. The heart is full of femininity and delicacy, a tender rose...barely sweet, antique in a way...but also modern. The amber warms up, enveloping the wearer in a puff of powdery, sensual and slightly animalic aura. A stale aspect is present, reminiscent of the 60's/70's. The sensuality of the musk is juxtaposed to edge of oakmoss...and the woody dimension is creamy and tender. This is femininity in a bottle. Never a fragrance resulted to me so romantic, refined and sensual. A scent for imprinting. A scent for special nights. The similarity in the amber core to work such as Ambre by Reminiscence, Erbolario Ambraliquida, Ambre by Historie de Parfums and many others, is clear. Yet there is something truly special at work here, the usage of cinnamon is sapient, winks the eyes at romantics 80's and 90's powdery cinnamon scents, but results modern. The flowers have a special, dainty and transperent allure. Macramè flowers. Another win in Francesca dell'Oro amazing line. Edit: patchouli and violet are in this!! It is unmistakable. Why I didn't mention it??

Ambrosine opens with baby powder intense, then settles into powdery-sweet amber roses. The lighthearted powdery amber smells retro, vanillac, and just a little bit skanky. This scent takes me backstage before a cabaret show, anticipation in the air, makeup and hairspray, sparkle powder dusting off from costumes, happy chaos, lots of pink and yellow, laughter, someone brings in vanilla sprinkle cupcakes and sweet champagne, camera shutters going off with flash photography. Now imagine a diva from this show runs up and embraces you in a big, warm, and sweaty hug. You take in her makeup finishing powder, feather headdress tickling your nose, crumbs of cupcake, all rising from the heat of her ample bosom. When she lets go, you're covered in pink glitter. Ambrosine is kind of silly, uber-femme in a 1960s way. It's embracing and happy-inducing. I love it.

Ambrosine is a nice balance between amber, rose and citric scent. On my skin, it lasted more than 12h, chapeau.

"Ambrosine" is a very unique take on amber indeed. On my skin it was extremely dirty, it got this weird fecal accord. I do like a bit of skank in my perfumes, so at the start I was very impressed. I could have promised there is some civet as I got a really strong animalic vibe from this. Unfortunately when the florals hit in, I get soapyness. So the dirty start together with the clean/soapy heart made this very unique indeed. First, I'll claim - I DID ENJOY IT! But it felt really wrong in some weird way - it basically reminded me a bit of dirty panties that someone did not wash all trough, but just rinsed with soap water. I hope you don't know the scent, but unfortunately I do. It's not completley unpleasant if you're in to skanky perfumes, but - oh boy, liking how "Ambrosine" feels on my skin is just plain WRONG. This could be my guilty pleasure, but I would never ever imagine myself wearing this around others.

I have spent all day with Ambrosine and I have to share my thoughts....I’m really impressed!!! That’s the fume that all powdery amber lovers should try. It opens with a beautiful rose accord, not sweet or, thanks god, not sour, but kind of waxy. The fragrance evolves rapidly offering woody, earthy notes. The rose fades gradually and leaves the place for intense, inviting and enveloping aura. It’s not spicy or sweet, not a gourmand type of amber as Ambre 114 or rubbery/incensy as Ambre Fetish, and not as warm as Ambre Precieux. It's powdery, dry woody and elegant, with a velvety touch. I would love to wear it in cold nights! It’s unique! Longevity 7 hours...

This is a strong, incredibly intense scent. I can sense amber, sandalwood, rose and cinnamon very strongly and it bothers me a little. It would be too much for me to wear it. It smells like an old-fashioned scent. I can't smell citruses or white flowers in it. It mostly smells spicy and warm. Honestly, this super fancy niche scent is too much for my simple taste.

From a sample. This is sweet, rose, amber. It starts with a mixture of nivea moisturizing cream, make-up remover wipes, hair spray and babies talc. It softens further but improves in the drydown. Rather from the 70s. Rather already heard. Quite strong. A bomb of the genre. Rather lasting. More ... Tough. pretty tough.

Amber and rose with a mossy drydown, it feels somewhat vintage and only slightly sweet. It feels very feminine, but also mature. It has a good longevity. Something in the drydown is slightly dirty. It is a pleasant scent, at least if you like vintage creations.
