Amber

#1273 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant to try it out. Boclet takes the note combination of Serge Lutens "Ambre Sultan" and leaves out some of the good stuff, resulting in a likeable amber scent without the incense. This is a great quality, long lasting scent that's safe for any use in any environment, but probably more of a casual than business scent. This Boclet scent was released in 2014. Lydeen did their slightly more floral take with "Silent Opus" in 2021, an extrait that's a little more potent than this but pricier at 150 Euros. I like the Serge Lutens more because I always prefer a myrrh scent, but I know some find that a bit "churchy" for their taste. You might be as happy with a bottle of Armaf "Niche Oud" at $35, or a $33 bottle of Lattafa "Eternal Oud", or a $22 bottle of Fragrance World's MFK "Grand Soir" clone "Barrakat Ambre Eve", though there is something about the synthetics in the latter that I find off-putting that others don't seem to notice. But if you can handle amber-vanilla scents that are a little more gourmand, Lattafa's takes on Kilian, "Khamrah", "Khamrah Qawah", and "Khamrah Dukhan", I think are must haves and very inexpensive, so safe blind buys. If you haven't already, you should check them out.

Damn, what took me so long to get this!? Amazing out the box. That Bay Leaf drives the similarities of Bentley for Men Intense. There's some Grand Soir in this, with some Niche Oud from Armaf. Put all those together, along with a fragrance that does it's own thing in the drydown, got a timeless piece here. The opening smells a lot like Bentley for Men Intense due to that Bay Leaf and amber. The mix of the amber and vanilla reminds me of Grand Soir. The amber, resins, and patchouli brings the Niche Oud. The amber is intoxicating with the resins, vanilla, and patchouli! Longevity was impressive at 9 to 10 hours. Projection was good at about an arms length for the first 1.5 hours and slowly pulled back to a skin scent around hour 8, but still pretty noticeable. Will enjoy working with this fragrance for sure. I got mine for about $60, which feels like a steal for this quality elixir! Scent: 10 Longevity: 9 Sillage: 8 Price: 9 Versatility: 8 Overall: 37.6/40

This is a Great Amber Style Scent, Spicy, Herbal, Resinous and Balsamic. I bought it blind-buy after reading the positive comments and I watched reviews on YouTube with reasonable price. It Reminds me of Amber Sultan by Serge Lutens and Akkad by Lubin in the opening and dry down, but They are not the same exactly! Akkad is more Resinous and Richer than. Amber Sultan is more Spicy. It opens up with fresh spicy, Herbal and spices notes in the background then dry down is semi sweet vanilla, resinous and ambery. This is suitable for fall and winter and I love it very much. My wife fell in love with it at first sniff. Longevity is good. Highly Recommend. Two Thumbs Up. Bravo Monsieur Frank Boclet ! Rating : 8.5 / 10

Just scent of rasin.Like that drop pieces of rasins in park or orchard in childhood.Memories of like you used to feel that ambery and woody scent while playing in surrounding of woods, during warm and shiny weather. I close my eyes on problem, that is too strong and masculine.

This is an outstanding resinous amber fragrance! Still in the testing phase, but so far very good. Projection is good the first hour.

hm...not bad...I see some resemblence with Amouage Interlude man (which I used to own and love to pieces) due to the combination of amber and oregano... not as bombastic as that one is though. Given the price tag, I'd buy Interlude Man again in this genre.

I agree with other reviews on this one, not bad kind of standard amber scent but not interesting enough for me to buy. It's like Amber Absolute light and the price reflects that, but I think AA is richer and a nicer frag overall and worth the extra $.

عطر خوبیه به خصوص برای دوست داران رایحه های گرم ، شیرین ، پودری و چسبناک ، هرچقدر که شروع مرکباتی بوزی و امبریش تکراریه فضای اروماتیک گیاهی و گلی جالبی داره و کمی متفاوتش می کنه ، چیدمان اسپایسیه برگ‌بو رام مشک دارچین و وانیل خوب از کار در اومده ، حتما می دونین که رام و برگ بو از ترکیب های خیلی سنتی ، رایج و شناخته شده در دنیای عطر سازیه و داستان تاریخیش هم به دریانوردان کارائیب در قرن های گذشته بر می گرده که شکل مدرن شده و نسبتا خوش ساختی از رایحه اش رو اینجا در پس زمینه استشمام می کنیم...یلانگ یلانگ و جاسمین از بالانس بسیار خوشایندی در بطن این روایح شرقی و تند و اسموکی برخوردارن و عطر رو کمی از یکنواختی بیرون می کشن...اکورد چوبی عطر همونطور که معمولا در چنین کارهایی انتظارشو می کشم تصنعیه و حالتی سوخته و‌ مصنوعی از چوب بلوط رو هم داره ، چنین فضای سنتتیکی بایستی ناشی از بکارگیری تیمبرول در ساختمان چوبی عطر باشه...در بیس نوت مطمئنا متوجه جیری دودی و رزینی جالبی که در لحظاتی شکل می گیره و جلب توجه می کنه خواهید شد ...اگر تصویر پر ابهامه گیاهی و نسبتا سبزه این کار کمی واضح تر و پر رنگ تر بود و به جای اینکه در خدمت اکورد اسپایسی باشه خود هویتی مستقل پیدا می کرد این کار می تونست بسیار خاص تر و یونیک بشه اما احساس می کنم طراح عطر فکر یک رایحه همه پسند و عامه پسند رو در سر داشته و این باعث می شه در حد یک دیزاینری متوسط و با کیفیتی نسبتا قابل قبول باقی بمونه ، پخش و ماندگاری بسیار خوب و مناسب هوای سرد ، مطمئنا سبک‌ مورد علاقه من نیست ولی علاقمندان به دنیای عطر های اورینتال و امبری رو با توجه به قیمت معقولش تا حدودی راضی می کنه

It is linear smelling, has a good amber base. However, the bay leaf and oregano notes take it in the direction of scents like Bentley For Men Intense, this could come off harsh and off-putting to some. The jasmine adds to the overall denseness of the scent profile, very sombre scent if that makes sense. Strictly for cooler temps, could get very cloying in the heat. To me, there are more interesting amber based scents than this. But if a no nonsense masculine simple amber perfume of nice quality is what you're looking for, then this could fill in. 6/10

Nice dry down. Almost like Serge Lutens Amber with few differences . I mistakenly bought a backup bottle. Please reach out to me if you need to buy. It’s very authentic. I bought two bottles but I’m currently using one. I realized that my taste is changing and will not use the backup bottle. Please hit me up to buy it. It’s still in the packaging

Okay so this was that one fragrance in the store where I just couldn’t resist, my friend showed me this one and ohhh lord! It’s such a great fragrance. I smell the amber first then the vanilla joins up, on my skin it lasted pretty long tbh and the silage was great! Price: 8/10 Silage: 8/10 Longevity: 9/10 Definitely worth blind buy!

As much as I love amber and all the notes here, I'm not in love with this. It has an oudi quality that throws off the balance for me. Might be the oregano / bay leaf adding a medicinal quality...but somehow the stong oud smelling orientals spring to mind when I have this on.

Beginning is salty typical amber you'll find in lots of other ambery perfumes, from Esteban or Etro to Montale. In 5 min resins get loud, warm and again, quite typical. Overall it's nice and pleasant, but a bit boring and not interesting.

• This is fresh amber is not dry or powdery. Different from SL Ambre Sultan. • Like an Esteban Ambre this frag is very wearable all year, and especially in hot summer! • In a drydown there is more edgy and linear tobacco note.

Finely in my collection.My first fragrance in 2026. Beautiful, spicy oriental, olfactory experience.I like amber,and that note ,is dominant in composition. This is worm , best friend huge! And,I love it! 💖
