Cocaïne

I bought this scent because it’s been on my radar for years, and seeing it compared to one of my all-time favorite scents, Orchid Soleil, was just the nail in the coffin on this year’s perfume budget. I blind bought the damn thing, and while I don’t find it to be a suitable dupe for Orchid Soleil (it’s not by any means of the word) I can understand why people often recommend this scent as an alternative to OS. Let’s start with what they DO have in common: Tuberose, which has many different facets of white floral it can present. There’s the bubblegum sweet, the heady animalic- sometimes downright fecal, the buttery, the nondescript, the creamy, and lastly, the medicinal. Cocaine has that same medicinal vibe that is found in Orchid Soleil that turns many off. In the latter, it comes across as corn tortillas and Vicks vapor rub. In the former, it’s more fruity flavored Colgate and Icy Hot. The sweetness is amped all the way up to 11 in Cocaine, it’s excessive and decadent no holds barred dripping in sugar which I suppose you’d expect with its namesake. It’s eating a piece of funnel cake dipped in strawberry syrup and whipped cream after you just brushed your teeth behind a nightclub. Orchid Soleil is more of a slow burn to the ever so slightly edible dry down, but it makes you wait several hours to get there. Once you do, it’s a posh Mont Blanc tart on baccarat crystal dishware by the glow of a setting sun by the ocean. I get lily in both as well, but it’s the fresh bar soap lily in Cocaine, think Victoria’s Secret or something slightly highbrow, but still mall chic (The Body Shop?) In Tom Ford, it’s a billionaire’s foyer exploding with fresh bouquets that have only just slightly began to rot. If these fragrances were adaptations of movies, Orchid Soleil is 50 Shades of Grey and Cocaine is 13 Going on 30. Now please don’t think I’m saying that Cocaine is somehow an inferior release of the two, I love both of them despite owning this one for less than 24 hours, and the Tom Ford since the year it was released. I just don’t consider them even remotely suited for the same occasion or mood. This is a perfect example of how two fragrances with similar note profiles and “scent categories” on Fragrantica can run totally parallel to one another without ever crossing paths. Please don’t buy this expecting an Orchid Soleil dupe or you may be sorely disappointed. If you love that one however and have an appreciation for the kitschy outliers of white floral releases on this site, don’t turn your sniffer up to this. Maybe don’t pay nearly $200 for a blindbuy on a full bottle (But if you do, I won’t judge). It’s worth the minuscule hype it gets on the forums, and then some. Franck Boclet, you have officially landed on my radar, can’t wait to get my nose on some more of your product. (Distasteful pun, intended)

Finally! It arrived in the mail today. I've soooo been looking forward to sampling this scent. One single spray on my inner forearm: Whew! Wow...INDOLIC, super mothballs! I've tested enough fragrances to get excited when I smell something this noxious. It means something verrry interesting is coming. (Well, most of the time. Sometimes it means you need to seek fresh air before you die.) In the next few minutes as it dries down, it's starting to smell a bit more astringent. The citrus and floral notes are juuust detectable. About an hour later I smelled something sweet, and a few seconds of curiosity passed before I remembered I was testing Cocaïne. From arm's length, I'm getting whispers of light yet syrupy sweet floral - like licorice and chamomile tea. Up close, it's thicker and there's more vanilla. I wouldn't say tabacco - but I get why it's listed. It's like eating crème brûlée in an opium den. THIS should be "Opium". If you haven't smelled actual opium - it has a sweet, earthy, slightly indolic scent very similar to this but less vanilla and more incense-ish. I find the whole seasonal and daytime appropriateness thing absolutely silly. The only reason that might matter is whether something performs well on fabric vs sweaty skin, etc. If you have to ask yourself whether something is appropriate for the office - it's not appropriate. Even the best scents become annoying and headache inducing in an office. I digress... Two hours after the initial spray, I now agree that Cocaine was the right name. Although it does smell similar to actual opium, it lasted about an hour and I've found myself obsessively sniffing my arm, trying to again experience that euphoric sensation I felt when all of the notes collided and melded into a warm sunny syrup that was dirty in the best way possible but...it's gone. I wondered if I had simply become anosmic so I asked someone to "tell me when" as I brought my arm closer and closer - only when I was centimeters away did they smell it. I'm going to spray again - more this time to see if it lasts!

First I want to mention that the notes are right here. Addictive (like the name tells) exotic blend which differs nicely from other Tuberose scents. First of all here is not Jasmine or Orange Blossom which are both commonly combined with Tuberose but there is Lily and Orchid together and those flowers bring freshness to this overall sweet juice. Secondly the opening of this scent is a unique mix of sweet and bitter nuances and all notes can be smelled separately but in the same time it doesn't feel unfinished. After the opening top notes are blending more with each others and that smell is lingering delightfully until the dry down together with a floral heart. The base with soft Vanilla, earthy Patchouli and slightly Coconut smelling Monoi makes this excellent choice for summer days even if this would have been considered as a scent for colder weather. For me this is really much more beautiful in hot than in cold - I never wear this in cold, not even in springtime tough - only in hot. Otherwise so many notes seems to be hidden and the blend doesn't feel so rounded. The warmer it is the sweeter Cocaine comes and somehow this works so well like that. Despite of Caramel and Vanilla here is many refreshing nuances and I think this is definitely one of those scents which you have to test on your skin in different temperatures. What comes to the notes, on my skin Tuberose and slightly dirty Tobacco are dominating over the others and the magic is the warmth which tones the dirtiness of Tobacco down and the sweetness of Caramel up. There is something unique in Cocaïne, it’s bold and evocative, even a little bit strange (but in the good way) unisex scent. You can choose how this develops on your skin and I choose the most sugary character in which this “split personality”. Thank you for reading, I hope my review was helpful. Its been a long while since Ive ran accross a fragrance that is gigantic and will rip your face off 80s style. I laughed in delight if Im honest. We dont see these types of beasts anymore. The juice is red because of the tuberose absolute. Its behaving just like TA because its a little bit spicy and not clean. Monoi from the base gives this a fatty haze and the accord called Craven- a tobacco vanilla that was first used in Amouage Portrayal for women. Amouage went with elemi and solar type jasmine. Cocaine runs head first into indolic sweetness, tuberose, lily and orchid. This will engulf you. I used 3 sprays and its as heavy as a fur coat. It has this wonderful attraction, dirty repulsion but cant look away thing going on. No doubt its challenging, but when was the last time you wore something this ballsy? Maybe Black Orchid comes to recent memory. Most people will be in the its waay to much camp,but I dont think this was made to please the masses. The person that rocks this has a strong sense of self and wears this precisely because many wont. That being the case, Im not sure if this is a daily driver scent. If your wearing it as a daring night out, reactions be damned, this is the pick. Its unique, I love it and kinda hate it. If youve worn Tom Ford Orchid Soleil, Bubblegum Chic, Moramanga,Portrayal etc this should work for you. I did not get the corn chip note as I did with Tom Ford, but it may happen.. A fun ride. I have no idea what to do with it. 🤣 And thats great in my book.

This stuff is nuts! I had no idea what to expect, heavy tuberose, musky and smokey and just a lot of florals running alongside a cocaine accord; I get lily, heavy jasmine, orchid, and some kind of menthol cigarette note in the opening. Reminiscent of a messy night out in the early two thousands--indie bands, and scene kids in a dimly-lit dive run wild amidst the drunken strobes of a poor DJ, a scratchy celebration of youth and the dead. Cocaïne is a hallucination of love at first sight before it vanishes into the smoke leaving the record skip of a ghost leaving the record skip of a ghost leaving the record skip of a ghost. This is a funeral and a wake, this is a sickly tequila french kiss with a girl dressed in her grandma's clothes, this is giggling, bizarre, and a must for any collector. God grant me the serenity, but fuck this brings me back to the--rare--highlights of a snippet of time--in /my/ life, /my/ youth, and the people I've loved at a glimpse whose names I cannot remember. 10/10. Love. Lust. Drugs. Life. Death. Raw. Beauty. I need a full bottle. Edit: I gave this to a friend to sample who almost threw up and immediately scrubbed it off her hand. Judging by this visceral reaction and other reviews, this is clearly marmite, I'm not sure I can own a bottle if I'm gonna be making folks throw up; some people see a white and gold dress. Others, blue and black. Sex Panther vibes right here. Fun. Still love it.

I have worn and loved many white floral beasts, and it's always fun to find a new one that ups the ante: Cocaine takes you on the more-is-more train and drives it right off a cliff. I always wanted to know what Alien would smell like if it were done with tuberose instead of its frenzied sambac jasmine, and I think this perfume pretty much settles it. Although I think Cocaine is more unhinged overall than anything Mugler would do--the composition is kind of all over the place, but I don't mind in this context. Anyone who enjoys this isn't going to be looking for refinement; this is all about excess. It opens with a sinus-clearing metholated blast of tuberose with a shock of heavy modern musk--seriously, it really reminds me of the opening of Alien every time I wear this--and then comes the stuffing under the shocking pink satin: an intense salty-savory accord of lilies. I don't always want my tuberose adulterated with competing florals, but these two together are a lot of fun, two screaming divas going at it like Rupaul's Drag Race Lipsynch for Your Life. The gourmand elements emerge afterwards, mostly candyfloss-topped caramel with a sweet tobacco-ish edge. And, yeah, there is definitely something happening that smells like a dead ringer for Orchid Soleil. A tuberose Orchid Soleil on steroids. Heck, yes. Bring it on.

This is a beautiful dark tuberose scent, it is dark and intriguing, its got an old powdery scent (they keep calling the grandma spit scent, why is it never the old grandpa?? why always grandma? tcha!). This would be a scent a vampire would pull off very easily, its that kind of a scent. The chips like note is there but its nothing that ruins the composition. I made the mistake of spraying this on my wrist and now my nose is cursing at me cause this is really nuclear BUT im also carefully studying the notes its putting out. So far this is a very sexy and powerful tuberose and white floral scent, definitely be careful where and how much you spray this. Note: i really think the dividing opinions here have a lot to do with skin chemistry, if your skin is already loud this might come off very loud and disturbing, my skin usually calms down anything you spray on it so on my skin its beautiful so far. I consider Cocaïne a masterpiece. It is long lasting,it is intensely projective (room-filler),it is gender neutral,it has an artistic edge to it and ultimately it is as addictive as I assume the drug itself is. Throughout Cocaïne's scent development,evolution the Tuberose and the Momoi oil are the most prominent, pronounced notes beautifully and harmonically creating one of the sexiest sillages I have ever smelled in my life. The Tobacco, Vanilla and Caramel are the supporting players in this composition giving depth and as I previously mentioned above an artistic edge to Cocaïne's scent profile. The sweetness created by those notes intensifies or rather amplify the lactonic milky undertones, nuances already existing in the utilized white flowers here in Cocaïne's while the smokiness and dirtiness provided by the tobacco equilibrate and balances it from feminine leaning, targeted to a much more unisex clientele like myself. A stereotypical male individual that is hooked. Hooked on cocaïne. lol if you love tuberose dominant,focused perfumes you might consider blindly purchasing it.

What on earth is this perfume? Does it contain real cocaine? I blindly purchased this perfume and absolutely hated it. It's not only that I hated it, but the opening was the worst smell I've ever smelled from a perfume. I was like "yeah, I'm definitely returning it". It's not animalic like people say. It's DIRTY, very very dirty at first. Later that day, this perfume turned into one of my favorite surprises. I wasn't sure if I sprayed something else from my collection on it. I reapplied and it was horrible at first, but after a short time it turned into heaven. I've never woken up in the morning wanting to smell a perfume so badly as much as I did with this. I am addicted to this and it is heaven to me. My friends may not enjoy it, but who cares? I am in love. Even if you did not like the opening of this perfume, please know that it is only a small part of the journey that will move you from a garbage dumpster (opening) to heaven. It's a 10/10 fragrance. Also, did I mention it's a BEAST? To me this is dirty, sexy and delicious perfume but be aware it's highly addictive.

Fragrance - Cocaïne Franck Boclet Bottle from - 2017 This is a story about an elegant and curious bouquet of white flowers with dominant tuberose laying on top of a bit alluring caramelized vanilla. The main player is tuberose,but the oscar for best supporting role goes to tobacco.Oh boy.Tobacco gives us a touch of the transcendent in this composition. I think it's a unisex smell. Longevity - 10/10(10+ hours) Silage/Projection - 9/10(heavy projection and silage for the first 2-3 hours,than sits closer to skin for the duration of the scent's evolution) Weather - For more or less any time of year.I personally wouldn't wear this on a really cold winter days and on a really hot summer days. Age - 25+ Compliments(low-medium-high) - medium to high Scent - 9/10 Main notes according to me - tuberose,vanilla,lily,caramel,tobacco,patchouli. The drydown is sweet and floral and I get some -vanilla,patchouli,caramel and flowers. Emotions - elegant,curious,alluring,transcendent,addictive. Occasion -For more or less any ocasion. If you like floral notes,great for signature scent.

The white florals really work for me, worn on a hot summer afternoon here in the Las Vegas valley. I sniffed this at a fragrance exchange club in an overheated office full of people and a heavy background of other niches, and immediately swapped for a travel spray of this, hoping I'd still like it in clean normal air, and I do. The tuberose, lily, and monoi combine to form a jasmine-adjacent white floral that is still projecting after I went swimming. I see from the reviews that a lot of people find the white florals too indolic, although they used less refined words to describe the phenomenon. So I shall be considerate and wear this when I'm home alone, like today. My cat doesn't mind the scent. But then he carries rats in his mouth so he may not be the best judge. In any case I shall enjoy this fragrance just for me.

Если честно не понимаю почему все пишут что аромат гнилой или ещё что то... Для меня тут явный аромат монои.... Я долго ходила принюхивалась, прислушивалась все не могла понять почему он мне нравится, ведь я не особо фанат лилии и ванили на которую мне указывали даже в магазине консультанты... И уже когда приобрела его, зашла в пирамиду аромата и OMG !!! Пазлы сошлись! когда то работала в ив роше и там была летняя серия монои (масло для тела, гель для душа и т.д.), которая именно предназначена была для ЛЕТА!! уточню просто ... и уж никак не для зимы точно... И я поняла, я тогда очень тащилась по этой серии... И тут нашла в этом аромате родную нотку. Так что не надо тут что он такой сякой🤣 ладно шутка, на вкус и цвет как говорится... Но знайте что он прекрасен , и мой совет покупайте оригиналы )

The first spray of Cocaine is a nuclear dose of tuberose...intoxicating, milky, and indolic. Then comes a surprising shot of sweet caramel. These notes work surprisingly well together. As it dries, the tuberose and caramel soften. The tobacco and patchouli are restrained on my skin. The monoi oil is noticeable and gives this a fresh quality...which is needed because the caramel and florals are so rich. This basically winds up being a heady mix of white flowers and caramel...delicious and seductive. The full drydown is the best part of this fragrance. It remains sweet, but not too cloying and feels luxe. This would smell gorgeous on any lady or gentleman. Cocaine is unusual and special and performs great. I'm glad I have a bottle...this is a new favorite for me.

I was so wrong about this perfume. When I first smelled it, it reminded me of cleaning products in the strongest way. I love love love it now, I'm glad I gave it a second chance. The florals and caramelized, slightly bitter vanilla I get from this gets me hooked every time I wear it. I'm so sad that it doesn't last as long as I want it to on my skin because I want to smell like this forever! When I first smelled it I thought that my head was spinning, in a good way. It is daring, it is assertive, it is deep. It does not scream its qualities and traits at first which is the reason why I love it so much. I also enjoy the confused looks I get when I talk about this perfume. ''I wish Cocaine lasted longer on me.'' ''Girl, what?''

This is a beautiful fragrance with great projection, and great lasting. Starts with a very sharp green tuberose, but once it settles, it becomes this combination of both green tuberose, and bubblegum tuberose, which I found to be quite unique... and way fucking cool. My guess is, it's the caramel adding the bubble gum sweetness, because I do not smell the caramel, even in the dry down. The orchid is also strong at this stage. A beautiful sweet (not gourmand at all) floral. The aura is intoxicating, but nose to skin you still get that dirty green tuberose. When this fragrance really shines, is in the drydown. It becomes this sweet, almost smokey, tuberose, that you can smell all around you. Beautiful. Love it so much.

Cocaïne opens with a slightly mentholated and spicy nuance of tuberose. The spicy opening is short lived. The floral heart note is all about the carnality of tuberose while orchid and lily add a slight indolic touch. At the base, monoï oil adds a very strong solar and tropical touch which renders the image of summer vacation in a beach resort. Vanilla also makes the floralcy heart and the dry down very sweet. Overall, Cocaïne by Franck Boclet is a sweet and tropical tuberose with superb longevity, 3 to 4 sprays is more than enough to last for 8 hours. Do not spray on light-colored garments as the juice itself is red and will cause staining.

This has become my signature scent, I get lots of compliments when I wear it. Although when they ask what I've got on, saying "Cocaine" raises eyebrows, but I kind of like that. It's a very wearable tuberose for men but also is great for women who like a deeper sexy scent. This is a rock n roll fragrance that also has a lot of class and smells expensive. It's a superb blend of tobacco with earthy floral notes that place it very much in the unisex range, it's not girlie and not to masculine either. You must try it, I suggest getting a sample as it won't be for everyone but if you like darker sexy fragrances you'll fall in love with it.

That blending of monoi, funeral lilies, and bitter orange at the opening really does smell like cocaine. And formaldehyde. There's a raw, gasoline quality to it. A tobacco note is present, but very much in the background. The "caramel" isn't sweet, rather a burnt butter accord. Cocaïne is more metallic than animalic; and I do not get berries, nor do I sense any recognizable patchouli. A very interesting, clinical take on a white floral. Do NOT blind buy! It is interesting and addictive, but not something I'd be in the mood for often. Full drydown is as someone stated below, a big, fat, ripe, fully opened bouquet of stargazer lilies!

Ah yes this is love. Such a bold statement of a scent. It is a blast of a tuberose, and although I get a slight popcorn vibe in the opening, I can say that all of the notes are there to boost tuberose and I cant quite pick apart them individually. Some people are mentioning moth balls, and yes I can totally understand, But there is something so cool with this fragrance that I barely get... the more I wear it, the better it is, which is a rarity. Usually I get disappointed with the drydown with majority of today's fragrances, but Cocaine is an exemption, I love it the more I wear it.

Tuberose is one of my favorite notes and i still find this deeply weird. Is this what cocaine makes you feel? It is disgustingly addictive. I guess i just have to distance myself from the concept here, as i am very much non-alligned with drug usage. Other than that it is one of the strangest-while-being-hyper-familiar, enticing, mind-disputing fragrances ever. It really does feel like it has drugs in it. Oh and on performance it feels goofy to talk about cause i sprayed ONE time on my hand hours ago and its still wafting right under my nose. Guess i can say im a cokehead now! 😳
