Incense

I was running a few days ago in a street. I passed next to a person, whose perfume was very interesting for me, so I stopped and asked his perfume's name. He introduced Franck Boclet to me... Top note of this perfume is scent of cardamom. Cardamom doesn't have synthetic feeling, but it isn't so natural like Voyage, Hermes. I have a pure essence of sandalwood. Dominant scent in middle note pyramid is sandalwood and is very similar to that essence that I have. Cardamom disappeared in middle note step and you detect sandalwood & Benzoin after about 2 hours. One tip that was strange for me, is that this perfume doesn't have any incense in it at any notes!! Finally, I think that scent in street was in middle note step that I smelled... ---------------------------------------------- چند روز قبل از خیابانی عبور میکردم و از کنار شخصی عبور کردم و عطر وی کاملا جلب نظرم رو کرد. از وی اسم عطرش رو پرسیدم و وی به مارک فرانک بوکلت اشاره کرد ولی نوع عطر رو نمیدونست. تا اینکه من رفتم و عطرهای فرانک بوکلت رو تست کردم و به احتمال زیاد عطری که جلب توجه ام رو کرده بود این عطر بود در هر حال با اسپری عطر اولین چیزی که جلب توجه ام رو کرد؛ بوی محسوس هل بود. بوی هل به طبیعی حالتی که در وییج هقمس هست؛ نیست ولی بوی قابل قبولی داره و اصلا سنتتیک نیست. در مرحله ی تاپ نت بیشتر عطر بوی هل میده در مرحله ی نتهای میانی بوی غالب صندل هست. اینجانب اسانس اصلی صندل رو دارم . بوی عطر در نت میانی خیلی شباهت به بوی صندل اریجینال داره جالبه که اسم این عطر رو Incense به معنی بخور گذاشته اند؛ ولی چیزی که در این عطر وجود نداره؛ بخورهست!! ا فکر میکنم عطری که من در خیابونی که از کنار فرد رد میشدم استشمام کردم؛ مربوط به نتهای میانی عطر بخور از برند فرانک بوکلت بود ------------------------------------------------------------ جالبه که این عطرزمستونی رو الان که تابستونه تست کردم ؛ اولش بویی بسیار بسیار شبیه به لیمو عمانی میده در شروعش

It's all true. If it was ever present, the incense has left the building. I actually like the initial blast of cardamom and wish it would stay around a lot longer, but it's gone in 30. Now I have to go and find a cardamom without commitment issues. I also like the soapy floral musk that lingers after the cardamom has scarpered. Might try layering with some true incense like Cardinal. The cardamom is not of the culinary type; it does not conjure thoughts of food, at least not for me, not as much as say the Demeter Cardamom. After using it for some years now, I will add that there are some fakes around and the fluid in them is pink or yellow. They are not good fakes either. The authentic fragrance seems to change somewhat after you open the bottle. I don't use it for about 6 months, until the assault of top notes have exited somehow from the bottle (I leave the cap off to assist this process). After then, we are down to that pure cardamom blast.

Absolutely lovely cinnamon cardamomy scent. No incense at all but a great winter scent for everyone. It’s great value for money from a quality house that I truly respect.

as usual with this house, very well executed. More on the sweeter side. A simple scent of cardamom, almond and cinnamon

EDIT: This has quickly grown into a love for me. It feels like a kind of a fresh, almost "shower fresh" version of a deftly spiced aromatic with just enough woody/resin backbone to give it nice masculine depth. For me, this amazing fragrance comes across as light almost on contact, but ever present over the course of a day. And my wife - for whom I can practically trademark the phrase "it's not offensive" - actually complimented me on it unsolicited. Now, I love my wife more than life itself, but she just *never* does that. Layers really well with the likes of Woodcut (all wood with a touch of toasty/sweet) or Visit (very nutmeg forward with incense/wood backbone). True enough, this has nothing whatsoever to do with incense... except for a background note that I could swear resembles frankincense... But other than that, this is all about natural and luxurious spices. It's not spicy like a big synthetic punch in the nose, but rather a spicy that calmly announces an accord like a well-established spice cabinet or the embedded bouquet of an old Indian family bakery late at night, long after the last of the pastries or the chai has been lovingly produced and lustfully consumed. It's more cardamom than anything, but with a bouquet of cinnamon and peppers and light woods in the deep background. In some ways this reminds me of Penhaligon's Agarbathi, but mostly in mood more than substance. There is also some similarity to the attractive spice profile in Sultan Al Oud or TF Oud Wood. Early indications are that this could be a major grower for me this fall. Looking forward to revisiting this review accordingly.

Maybe this one just doesn't play well on my skin as all I get is a slight ambroxan scent, or maybe it matches my own skin scent so well that I'm unable to tell the difference 😆

Not a bad scent but as mentioned, it has nothing to do with incense. I have no idea why the house would name it incense but who am I? It's basically a dry spicy scent with a light woody base from start to finish. Really nothing more to say except the standout from Boclet is the tobacco scent which mimics Tobacco Vanille but way cheaper.

Performance incredible bad with those ingredient but still weak then it's should be refuse. Overall scent nothing special, lasts too bad

1st impression, off of a small tester vial. Good quality, busy/chaotic, hard to love, intense. In simpler terms, it smells pretty much like an Indian spice market or shop. For those from India, imagine going to a "Kirana Store" and smelling the absolute cacophony of smells. Not in a bad way though, Incense by Franck Boclet develops for a long time. It is busy, blunt and strong. There's a lot of spice in there however, not for everyone. Try it before you buy. I like it :)

Incense by Franck Boclet has almost nothing to do with incense at all. It opens with a blast of cardamom that later gets punctuated by the woody notes. One may even wonder why it's called Incense when it is not even detectable. Well I don't know about the taste of others but for me: I don't want to smell like cardamom, so that's a pass. Thence misleading.

Interesting at the beginning. Woody notes are playing good for the first 15 minutes, then the smells turn into something very soapy and common. IMHO, the bottles are nice, but if you prefer perfumes but not bottles, don`t waste money.
