Sugar

This fragrance is so interesting, it may become my new perfume obsession. :) When I first got the bottle and sprayed it on my skin, I wasn't that enthusiastic about the smell at all, actually. The very first spray was kind of...odd. It smelled of non-descript fruit and something citrusy. Something vaguely reminescent of the Guimauve by Reminescence (I like that fragrance, though, by the way). However, as it tried down, it only got better. Now, wearing this today, what I got is sweet (but not too sweet, only delicately sweet) powdery scent that really makes a great impression of powdered sugar in the air. Then on my skin it dries down to something that really reminds me of Johnsons baby pink lotion. :) if you ever smelled the lotion, you know exactly what I'm talking about. :) As someone who loves powdery perfumes, including those that smell of baby products, I am in awe. 💕 I almost laughed when I got the dry down, so similar to the lotion it is, but it's not only about that. It depends on the scent nuances you get in the air, within the scent trail itself. Sometimes I get honeyed marshmallow in the air, sometimes I get something that reminds of of 90s makeup. Sometimes it's only the lotion and sometimes, it's fruity sugar. Why this isn't more popular among the well known powdery bombs such as Villoresi's Teint de Neige or L'Instant Magic by Guerlain, I don't understand. It doesn't smell like them at all, but it had its own unique kind of warm powderiness melting into the skin. Honestly, a baby pink or pastel pink bottle would suit this more, but the nice, sturdy black bottle may be a nice and interesting contrast to the pinkish and delicate powderiness of the fragrance itself. :) The longevity and sillage are very good, too, I'm satisfied with this purchase. Pink powdery heaven. 💕🌸🌺

Sugar is not all about the sugar... But the most! It is a very sweet and cloying perfume, but not un a bad way since It is very pleasant...and delicious! For me It is like a mix between sweet & dark perfumes like black opium by Yves Saint laurent, and other brighter but still sweet fragances like baccarat Rouge 540 by MFK. and It has very good ingredientes and a 40% concentration which gives a very good performance to the perfume. The opening is very nice, sweet and intense. I usually dont like very much perfumes with honey but here It is very Well blended so It doenst disturb me at any time. The sweetness at opening is a bit fruity and It becomes a bit more flowery to the dry down. High concentration of caramel and musk finish this perfume thought for sweet tooths. The performance is very good. More than 8 hours on skin with a moderate but good projection. This is not for discreet people. Unisex but maybe leaning a bit more in the femenine side, but if you are a Guy and you like BR540 probably you would like sugar as Well. I have original. After a year of wearing it in different weather my impression of it changed. This one is a real chameleon of a scent, and I probably would not like it at all if I lived in warmer climate. Mixed opinions on this make perfect sense. I actually did get creamy marshmallows from it, but for that I had to wait until temperatures dropped to +3°C. It's not very interesting throughout spring and summer when I prefer lighter things to wear, it becomes more of a powdery floral bomb at the time. In autumn it's nearly identical to Ange ou Demon by Givenchy (at least on my skin) and it's double-faced in the same way, going from a white floral to something sweet and and almost medicinal/animalistic without any noticeable cause... I enjoy how multi faceted this is. To add to the confusion, I understand where the name comes from because if you know the weak smell of sugar cubes, you'll certainly make it out here, it's quite distinctive. Usually it doesn't remain that way on skin though.

I think the perfume name is misleading, if it is meant to proclaim that this perfume is sweet and sugary... I think there are other perfumes that are sweeter than this. I think the proper name for this juice is Franck Boclet Fruit. Because that is how I feel when I wear this. I love fruits and I really feel like wearing tutti frutti fruit juices all over my body. As usual for the extrait, Franck Boclet never disappoints. Great longevity and great silage. For me the prominent notes are peach, coconut and marshmallows, and the other fruits always dance in the background. This is a happy perfume, as happy as I to have it.

This one gets an unexpected strong 'like' from me. Its name is definitely misleading, because it is not overwhelmingly sweet. It smells exactly like a Lush store! You know when you are approaching any Lush store in the world, its smell lingers in the street while you're still a few blocks away - and then, when you enter the store, it knocks you down! That's the smell that I'm getting from this frag. Upon closer inspection, I can detect the notes of pear, raspberry, coconut and marshmallows. The misnamed Sugar is quite potent and very long lasting.

such an easy reach this my go to when in a rush or when i’m mindlessly grabbing something sweet but not cloying at all and the florals and musk just complete it and the longevity is great too like you’ll smell this at 8pm after putting it on at 6am great i adore this oml

I love this! Fascinating that for some this reads soapy, because for me, this is a stunningly sweet-and-spicy powdered sugar. Warm and delicious but not necessarily edible. Addictive and intoxicating. An excellent unisex fragrance.

It’s just so sweet and delicious. I guess that is marshmallow. It smells like caramel In the drydown I would say. My husband loves it. Alas it is hard to find.

Lux creamy lotion, orange marshmallows and orange white chocolate.topped with powdered sugar. The orange is faint.

It is sweet and soapy, some old chic vibes, but i loved it!

I bought Paris Corner's Forbidden Sugar first (it's a dupe for this fragrance) and fell in love with it. Although I will say that I find PC's can be a little wonky sometimes. When I first sprayed it - the dry down was way too powdery and thick. But after spraying the new bottle out a few sprays and letting it sit a few days - I came back to it and that issue was gone. I fell head-over-heals in love with it. It does kind of smell like a bowl of granulated sugar, with a little raspberry dust in the background. Although it is stronger and projects more. Fantastic. But I do find the perfume can be finicky. If I shake it up and then spray it - it gets a little funk smell to it? Odd. And don't ask me why I am over here shaking it because I don't do this with my other perfumes?... I've also traveled with it and noticed that from it moving in my bag that I get the same funk-effect. So the PC version does much better when stabilized, left on a shelf and that's it. I love it so much that I bought a back-up bottle because I never want to be without it. But I also bought the Frank Boclet Sugar too. I wanted to see if it was even better!? And I have to say that while PC did get close - there are some minor differences. I find FB to have a tinge of nail polish remover scent added sometimes. But overall they are similar compositions. I enjoy them both though and am happy to have both. I prefer PC more (when not shaken up*) though, but because there are some minor differences and my curiosity for FB is growing, so is my FB collection... I now also own FB Ylang Ylang and it is gorgeous! It's a carmelized sweetened ylang ylang fragrance, floral-gourmand. Phenomenal. Highly recommend for women (or for men who dgaf about genders in perfumey*)... I also just ordered Woodstock today, waiting to receive, haven't smelled it yet... And then I have a few travel-size decants: Vanille - it is lovely, but I wish it lasted longer. And I have Tonka, I feel the same about that one too. I wish they lasted longer and projected more for longer. I still may pick up full bottles though... I also have travel-size of Cocaine and wow is it interesting, but not for me. It smells like a vinyl pool blow-up floatie. I get vinyl with a side of pool water. Very interesting and artistic. And not for me... I am also looking to possibly pick up Tobacco too. And Heliotrope. But still doing research. Would love to find out which are the best FB fragrances out there! If y'all have any faves plz leave in your review. This house is not talked about enough and it isn't as easy to find info on them.

Don’t waste your money on the original... Just buy the PC, Forbidden Sugar. I’ve used them both, and they are basically the exact same, if not better on the Paris corner one... The sprayer on the bottle is fantastic. I honestly blind bought this perfume the first time I ordered it based on the notes and I was very scared when I first sprayed it because it immediately just smelled like baby powder, which is a scent I hate... But I gave it a chance and let it dry down and the middle notes and base notes are so wonderful that it’s worth the rough opening to me. When it settles down, it ends up, smelling like super warm, cashmere, fresh, laundry, and being wrapped in your favorite blanket. But also throw in a touch of gourmand fruit and Dewey floral. Violet and musk are the overwhelming notes in this, though... if you’re looking for an orange blossom bomb, try Love don’t be shy, it is not this perfume. I do think this is suitable for year-round, sign signature sent where... However, I think the number of sprays you wear in winter probably cut it in half come warm weather so that you don’t assault everyone’s nostrils in a room with you... The sillage and longevity on this is so beast mode. I would also suggest not spraying it on clothing unless you want it to be stuck to the fiber until the next time you wash it... No joke I have a hoodie that I sprayed and one month later I can still get the full fragrance every time I sniff the fabric since the last time I wore it.

Sugar is the perfect name for this scent cause damn is this one sweet!! This is a STRONG like, emphasis on the strong because this a monster of a scent. Heavy sillage and superb longevity - so if you like strong scents, this one is for you. I wore it to work the other week and sprayed too much (and regret it BAD). This perfume gives me pretty grunge girl vibes. Like a girl that likes to get down and dirty, but looks really beautiful doing it. A leather jacket and black combat boots, but has pink lipstick on and is heavily blushed so she looks flushed. It’s sweet and powdery, but done in the most mature way. Nothing in my collection evokes this kind of imaging for me, which is why I think I like it so much. Even with this imagery, I could also smell this on a very handsome, confident man. I’m gonna have to test it in my bf now! 😆 Please don’t even attempt to wear this in warm weather unless you want to suffocate everyone around you and even yourself. And for the love of God, be light when you spray it! This is strictly a cold weather scent. It starts off very fruity and sweet but dries down musky and slightly soapy (from the orange blossom) but never wanes on strength. I’m happy to have it in my collection.

I got the Paris Corner version of this scent called Forbidden Sugar. I can't smell any of the notes other than sugar, floral and honey. The sugar smells like a powdered sugar and maybe some type of bitter floral. Then the scent of honey creeps in after a few minutes. Overall if has a scent that reminds me of sugar cookies. It reminds me of Warm Vanilla Sugar from B&BW and Hypnose from Lancome. It just stays linear throughout the wear. It's more of a build-able perfume. The more you spray, the more intense it is. However this isn't nuclear like one would expect when they read that it's supposed to be an extrait. It lasts all day on clothes and a few hours on skin. It doesn't have much sillage beyond the first 30 minutes of wear. I think there are better vanilla and sugary fragrances out there but this is pretty good. I can't say I'd never purchase it again, but it's not in my top favorites.

Sugar is my second try from Franck Boclet, after Tobacco, and it's sweet, as its name suggests, a mix of vanilla, marshmallow, several white florals, fruits, and white musk. It's one of the more pleasant "floral vanilla" fragrances I can recall trying in recent memory, but this is a category that seems to regularly have new entries, and while Sugar is better-blended and overall more pleasant than, say, Mancera Black Vanilla, it's not groundbreaking. It's a pretty good performer but not extreme, and feels versatile with respect to season, and for a floral vanilla, is not all that feminine-leaning, at least not to me. It does not seem to be sold in the US currently but runs for about $200 for a 100ml bottle on some non-US sites, not bad if you love it, but certainly a stretch if you don't. For me, it's a like, not a love, but I'd encourage floral vanilla fans to try it. 7 out of 10

It’s a really good unisex perfume! I don’t like coconut and vanilla, was afraid to find ‘em out being too strong, but all was not as I’ve expected. You want clear sugar? This perfume is for you! It smells more like beet sugar, not mawkish, but even a bit fresh. You know batata (called “sweet potato”)? That’s that kind of sugary. Also, you can find that it has no temperature at all. It’s no warm nor chill one, just suits your own body’s temperature in any situation. You can wear it at day or night - no matter of the daytime, it will mix with your own scent naturally as hell. It’s quite strong and stands long on your skin, but not overwhelming and doesn’t give headaches like previous users mentioned... It’s not my type of perfume, I prefer different scents, but I really-really LIKE Franck Boclet’s Sugar.

This smells like marshmallow covered orange blossoms and sugared violets. Light and fluffy white musks and vanilla as a base. This is a marshmallowed floral. There is nothing sharp in here. I picture this as more powdered sugar dusted orange blossom. This is quite playful and fun. Go easy on it though, the strength of this juice is not for the faint of heart. I could see this as being overwhelming with too many sprays. This reminds me of Love don’t be shy by killian, but this one has the powdery sugared violets facet. The name makes it obvious, but this is not for anyone who dislikes sweet perfumes. I also think you need to enjoy orange blossom to like this scent. I find the floral aspect to equal the sweetness in strength.

Sweet, creamy and GOOD - I love the ENTIRE ride on this fragrance. Good golly - this makes me jolly! a simple delight!! (I don't normally get involved with super sweet fragrances but this is different in a grown n sexy way) OVERALL I fancy the The Rock N Riot Line - slightly different, always wearable, usually something to eat in each one, and they undertake several changes throughout the day as if you had changed perfumes. MY FAVS in this line: Vinyl, Sugar, and Woodstock.

I was wondering is this sugar super sweet. I decided to buy a sample. What can I say - for me it's not. I feel orange blossom with sweet honey, and a little bit of raspberry. Very good, strong, honey and white floral perfume. I don't know why, but I feel something similiar to L'Instant de Guerlain. May be its honey and white flowers.

Maybe I'm fucked up in the head, but this to me doesn't smell all that sugary, there is certainly sugar but I get more orange blossom and musk than else. Call me crazy but I'd wear this in summer LMAO. Btw, I really dig it, so yeah, it's a strong like from me.

I get a TON of MUSK, followed by florals, with the gourmand notes lingering in the background to sweeten it up. This does not smell edible. If you like sweet musks give it a try. I don’t get the chemical Dry down like some reviewers mentioned.

Given the name I’m pleasantly surprised that this isn’t sickly sweet. It reminds me of a fruity dessert with honey and vanilla, but still, the scent is not overly gourmandy. One of Franck Boclet’s best in my opinion.

Very sweet, musky scent - probably the easiest to like from the brand.

Too much! It starts off good then it becomes too overwhelming and heavy and headache inducing too sweet and not sure what to make of it, this is the second time I experience such a thing with franck bocklet fragrance the first time it was with another fragrance which I don't remember its name right now. Update this lasts for a very long time on skin 12+ hours Dry down is terrible it dries to a white floral musk, it smells exactly like a soap bar so unless you want to smell like you just came out of the shower I say stay away from it

This is a confusing one, and based on others' reviews, my skin is definitely weird. Initially VERY soapy, reminded me of Philosophy Grace quite a bit. There may be a hint of sweetness/sugar that attempts to come through if I really think about it, but overall just a super soapy powdery smell. I don't hate it, pretty neutral on it leaning towards pleasant. Seems like a sweater weather kind of scent on me. I'm really sad because I loved the way it sounded from others.

Very sweet! But still kind of nice to smell, just not sure if I would want to wear it. It reminds me of those raspberry and blackberry candies. But it develops into some thing a little less sweet and pleasant. On the dry down a powdery mess comes through. However, it is what the name says it is, which is pure sugar.

I'm confused by this fragrance. It's sweet but also smells like aftershave? The sweet part I like, but the fresh pungent part I find difficult to wear. I gave it to my husband (smells weird on him too but he can pull it off better). Also, this is a strong one.

Reviewing a sample. This definitely not a gourmand and the name "Sugar" is misleading. This doesn't smell anything like Oriana or LDBS to my nose as those fragrances are orange Blossom + marshmallow bombs. I don't get any marshmallow here. This smells very similar to Midnight Jasmine by Pearlescent. Definitely not a safe blind buy. I like it but I like Midnight Jasmine more.

All I smell is cleaning products...bitter/sour cleaning products. I tried wearing it a few times thinking it might be clashing with the soap use so I tried different soaps...cleaning products. I gave it to my husband...cleaning products. So disappointed as the scent profile sounds amazing!

Soapy and fruity fragrance. Not for me, but strong sillage and projection.

Marshmallow (fluffy eggwhites) + Guerlain L'instant (honey/syupy + violets), with creamy orange blossom (deepen by peach+pear) and light raspberry splash in the drydown, with some oily-waxy thickness underneath to keep it together (musky coconut). You can interpret it also as smelling honey flavored marshmallow in the air, holding lipstick flavored candyfloss, in the midst of an orange blossom garden, on a beautiful warm and humid night. It's a dense scent, like the density of L'Extase Rose Absolue Nina Ricci, but scent-wise goes in the direction of Prada Candy Kiss and Reminiscence Guimauve, even thicker (the latter two, remind me of something from my childhood that I can't put my finger on. Any ideas?) Overall, this is an exquisite marshmallow scent, unique, and probably the best among the alternatives with some version of a marshmallow note (D&G, Princess by Kilian etc...). More serious/complex/deep/sexy/steamy/sensual , rather than yet another fruity ballerina pink giggly jiggly sugary goo.

I agree with Rosymel. This fragrance starts out magnificently diving head first into delicious fruit dipped in opulent cream. I immediately wanted to buy it because not only is the opening sweet and smooth but it’s also layered and a pinch green from cassis. Then the story takes a strange turn. It gets more loud in the dry down. I’ve never experienced that in a fragrance before. Not only does it get much more strong but something chemical steps forward. At first I thought it was moth balls or something like lighter fluid, but on further wearing it’s more like strong soap. Like a waxy strong gas station soap. Not citrus soap or cleaning products just strong waxy soap smell.

3/31/2024 Got a 9ml decant from ScentSplit. I can see how this could become some people’s “easy reach”: it’s pleasant enough, never cloying, never too sweet. I don’t find it as strong as others have but it hasn’t elicited a “must buy NOW” reaction from me. At least not yet. I also bought the PC dupe to compare but I haven’t received that one yet. Sugar is quite lovely, though, but it hasn’t been an “obsession at first sniff” kind of thing. Edit 4/15/2024 I got Forbidden Sugar by PC yesterday in the mail. They do smell very similar. I feel like "Sugar " is a bit more subdued and soapier than PC.

I blind bought a 10ml decant from the notes and my curiosity (I have a few Franck scents). I had no clue what to expect, besides the whole marshmallow/orange blossom trend. Which this is NOT. lmao. This is more like Divine Enfant's orange blossom- cold and chemical like a disinfectant- or an ole lady's bathroom soap. I like it. It's weird. Potency, sillage, and longevity were great. Not a sugary sweet perfume. This is not Sintra/Oriana/LDBS orange blossom. I prefer Divin Enfant for the weirder notes. I'm still happy with my decant. This is cool. Tends to get plasticky on the drydown.

Very pleasant sweet floral if you can call it that. More so a sweet gourmand if anything. Given the notes you'd think it would be an overly sweet composition. Nope, it's a very pleasant inviting scent. It should be relatively easy to describe where you've smelled it before but it's proving to be quite difficult. The fragrance isn't complex. Just a marshmallow and soft vanilla delight. Very blind buy safe. Slightly feminine leaning but if I can pull this off, another man should be able to as well. Good stuff!

I got a 10 ml decant of this and I don't know what seems to be the problem but I get nothing of the sweetness, marshmallowness, or creamyness. It is straight up an old cologne!!!! Reading the reviews I am sad and frustrated I don't smell these at all. Starting to believe there must have been a mix up in my decant

My first Boclet received a sample from Scent Split. Forgive me I must be honest This is giving me that aged floral grandma scent That turned that dark golden shade from too much light exposure perhaps. I’m not getting any sugary-marshmallow gourmand goodness. So bummed.

Very similar to Rebel Hearts by keiko mecheri, minus the rose. Hard to tell by the notes (the sweet powderiness being referred as marshmallow here and almond for RH) but i blind bought the second one and had to sell Sugar because having both was redondant.

Criminally underrated powerhouse. The most grown-up sugar and honey-covered white flowers. Unique and luxe. The most complimented combo of all time for me has been this paired with Dior’s Feve Delicieuse.

I just love this! To me it smells like you took a bath in powdered sugar, and I'm okay with that! I bought the forbidden sugar dupe which i love as well, but they do smell slightly different.

Sugar is a twist on Dior Homme Intense. Lighter and fluffier. I'm not saying this smells like the iris heavy Dior Homme Intense, but I would consider this a sister of DHI.

Also here for the notes too because of Paris Corner’s Forbidden Sugar. Love that one...

Way more fruity than I thought. The raspberries and peaches are the star of this show.
