THE BEST Masculine-leaning Gourmand Vanilla. Opening with a burst of lime & cardamom that deepens into a creamy caramel & ginger heart resting on a vanilla & amber-musk base with cedar touches. I get an amber-spicy presence throughout, though amber is not listed. The vanilla is well-rounded here taking on caramel and chocolate nuances. Best on the skin as this will give an oily sheen that could stain clothing, and needs to warm up before the projection kicks in. Overall: Fantastic vanilla forward scent profile with well above average performance, unisex but slightly masculine leaning in comparison to other scents with this profile.. It's a love for me. Enjoy! Contrast to Lira Xerjoff: Very similar scent profile with citrus vanilla, but VFB is slightly masculine leaning. VFB has a more amber touches, and has cardamom instead of cinnamon. Lira is more citrus forward and develops a lighter cakey feel that I don't smell in VFB. Lira is more linear. Both have excellent performance that is roughly equivalent. Update 04/26/25: Wore this the last few days, and really enjoying it. The vanilla has aged to where the juice is a dark coffee colour now, and the vanilla lasts longer over top of the amber making it less masculine imo. It's categorized as oriental spicy in the write-up, but now that the vanilla has aged, I would call it oriental vanilla, as vanilla is more forward than spices. Very similar to Lira. Still a love, I might wear it again today. 10/10.

I tested this perfume before seeing perfume notes. I detected Franck Boclet vanille as Caramelized vanilla, and when I see notes after that, I become surprised. This perfumes is clearly can demonstrated by this sentence: "Caramelized and dander vanilla" It is so different type of vanilla base perfume. Vanilla lovers, come on and test this perfume. I promise that vanilla lovers don't be regret testing Franck Bolclet, Vanilla. Citrus scents are definitly one of my favourite fragrance profiles and I own around 25+ different citrus perfumes. Vanille by FB is definitly a favourite in my collection. I love the sweet lime and lemon, ginger, caramel combo of this fragrance. It’s sugary but remains light, airy and easy to wear. Its no where near as sugary sweet or as cakey as Lira, and nowhere near as strong as unknown pleasures which also has a tea note. It’s also lighter than Dulcis in fundo. I’d say it’s closest to “Il Colore Del Vento” but with more lemon rather than lime in comparison. This is a great scent for spring or summer and easily unisex. It’s also very reasonably priced for 100ml.

I loved Lira, and tart citrus gourmands in general, especially unisex. This is lighter and more midline than Lira. Lira can tend to pull gradually traditionally masculine on me as it wears and the bright top notes burn off. This one keeps to a softer scent story. I think the sweetness stays closer to linear as it doesn't have that musk accord creeping in to overshadow the other notes. I still like Lira but I'm loving Franck Boclet's Vanille. It's a warm vanilla, starting quite sweet, and then the caramel kicks in, making it more gourmand. When the ginger comes, it becomes a warm fragrance, that feels like amber+vanilla fragrance. Compared to its brother Tonka, I'd prefer tonka, because I feel vanilla feels bright and effervescent, tonka is darker, more mature and mysterious. It's very nice, and this reminds me of Mirabile from V Canto.

In my opinion, this is more interesting and complex than Lira. I bought a decant of it and am pleasantly surprised. The top note felt a little masculine due to the sharp citrus, but after about five minutes the citrus mellows out and this becomes a spicy sweet musky vanille. I don't find it very similar to Tobacco Vanille or Killian Princess.

The best spicy citrusy vanilla ,cozy sweet and comforting. Although you can find similar scent profiles like Lira ,Devotion Dolce&Gabbana, Akro and even Nishane Ani ,this has its own place . Price/quality is quite acceptable,nothing unique but it's worth trying . Definitely recommend for fall ,winter or evening .

This is what dior homme should of smelled like it's more manly smooth vanille caramel I smell iris even though it's not listed and Cocoa but the opening is a blast of citrus 😜🤙 definitely different than most colognes on market 💯💯 if you like dior homme you will love this 🔥🔥

Very nice realistic lemon sponge cake with lots of sugar and vanilla. You can easily wear it during summer and winter. The only problem is the zero projection. I literally have to put my nose where I sprayed to smell it.

Man is this good! Intoxicating citrusy vanilla. Good sillage, lasts all day. Perfectly unisex. Very successful blind buy for vanilla/gourmand lovers!

This really does smell similar to Lira. With that being said, it smells delicious, and is cheaper than Lira, so.......yeah, I want it, lol 😆

It smells like a citrusy vanilla cupcake. Good projection and last the whole day. A good alternative to Lira(which I also own a bottle of).

95% of my perfume purchases are blind buys, as I don't live near any stores that sell much fragrance. So I am happy to report, that after some major duds the past few weeks, I finally landed a banger. This is beautiful. Nothing ground breaking, but a real stunner nonetheless. It's quite linear. Caramel, lime and vanilla is what you get from start to finish. A safe blind buy for gourmand lovers. Great for all seasons and day or night i think. The lime keeps it refreshing enough to prevent cloying in the hot summer heat and the deep caramel and vanilla will be comforting in the colder months. The lasting power is OK. Nothing spectacular. Maybe 4-5 hours before it settles into a whisper. Decent projection for 2ish hours. I don't mind replying throughout the day/night, as it was relatively affordable. Boarders on the edge of both designer and niche imo. Delicous. People will want to eat you.

It's just... okay. Nothing exciting, groundbreaking, or moving, do not get this if you're after that. Vanilla-centered, small notes like florals and lime attempt to provide balance so sweetness doesn't overpower, but are never at the forefront. Discreet waffle cone/ coconutty vibe. Caramel aids to give its gourmand profile. There's some imperfections but it's still an okay formula overall. Slighty boozy vanilla. Nothing GREAT, just good. For those who want something familiar and sufficient enough for a gourmand fragrance. It doesn't morph or cross any boundaries; it stays linear and within the 'perfume' territory. Something you can wear every day, moderate longevity and silage. Spritz and get on with your day. VERY high price for what it is. 6.5/10

This one is pleasant! It's not the typical creamy lemon vanilla gourmand, we see these days as it is fresh spicy indeed. To me it smells exactly like e crossover between lemon/lime flavored Pepsi and Bundaberg's Ginger Beer, which could be interpreted as slightly artificial. When I spray it on it's own, I feel like there's some depth missing. However, it's great for layering with other vanillas - blends beautifully whilst preserving it's citrusy brightness. :) It's definitely on the moderate side as far as longevity and sillage go, but very likable nevertheless.

although i do think this is lovely, i don't really get the depth of flavor suggested by the actual notes in this perfume...it just smells like a really simple vanilla gourmand (but a beautiful and high-quality one). i do quite like it, but i wish i could get some of those citrus or ginger notes that are also supposed to be in this profile, it would make it more interesting. this is quite strong. interestingly, it stays on clothes for a very long time, but disappeared from my skin almost immediately.

Bought after going down the similar to Lira rabbit hole. The dry down is ok, but some of the notes are not wearing well on me. I think its the lime and ginger. Too masculine for me. I don't think this is a blind buy, unless you're sure about the notes. Update: its lovely- a rich blended citrusy vanilla caramel! Not sure if it was my nose or it needed to sit awhile. Its definitely a wearable gourmand, compared to Unknown Pleasures (which I love but makes me crave lemon pound cake).

I don’t get much of the citrus on my skin but it’s beautiful nonetheless. Initial spray was very reminiscent of vanilla extract and then went into the warm/mildly spicy caramel notes pretty quickly. It wears somewhat similar to Tobacco Vanille on me, which surprised me at first, but my skin will pull out vanilla notes and make them the dominant ones so I think that’s what is going on here.

I find this to be a bit more complex than Lira, although I prefer Lira over FB Vanille. However, FBV is lighter, and the lingering lime and ginger make it a perfect Summer eve scent. The cedar is a lovely addition to balance the sweet and sour notes. TBH they both are basically the same once they dry down. Not groundbreaking, but a lovely vanilla to add to the collection.

Quite similar to but more interesting than Lira. I am getting ginger and cardamom quite strong in the opening then it settles into a creamy lemony vanilla. Lira leans more feminine but this one is unisex due to spiciness. I like It specially for the price point much better buy than Lira for sure.

If Lira and Ani had a baby. On my skin, the ginger and citruses gives me slight Ani vibes. (I'm very sensitive to ginger) Not the biggest Ani fan but mix it with the lovely gourmand citrus-caramel-vanilla combo from my beloved Lira and it's a win for me.

The opening is a zesty candied lemon with caramel rounding out the tartness beautifully, then as it dried down the smell develops into a lemon angel food cake from the best parisian patisserie. Beautiful and soft but not without personality!

Not something extraordinary or special, but pleasant gourmand scent. Opens with a lot of citrusses, caramel, some subtle spices and sweet accord. Over time lime quiets down, and vanille becomes dominant. Leans definitely feminine.

Huge disappointment. I blind bought this perfume because I couldn't smell it in any shop. Let me tell you that is has nothing to do with Lira. Just because there is lemon and vanilla doesn't mean it smells like Lira or Devotion. First of all, I do like the scent. My main issue is that it has zero sillage. I can barely smell it on myself which makes it hard for me to appreciate it. This perfume is extremely unisex. Even though, it's not listed, the blend of spices makes it feel like there is tobacco in it. It is actually a very fresh and spicy vanilla scent. It reminds me of a summer version of Shalimar. Those who listed that perfume as smelling like Sublime Vanille by Creed were right even though it doesn't smell exactly the same (Sublime Vanille is in fact a fresher, more lemony version of Shalimar). Vanille by Franck Boclet gives me spiced tea vibes and also reminds me of the Ruthless Countess Dorothea by Penhalihon's that has been discontinued. In a nutshell, it would have been a very nice perfume if it weren't for its exceptionally bad performance. I will let it sit for a while and see if it is better in summer but I have doubts. Update : Apparently people around me can smell it fine. I must be agnostic to some of the notes. This perfume is just so light and airy. It's very easy to forget about it once sprayed. Not my kind of perfume.

It opens with very lime-y mint-y vanilla. Reminds me of a lip gloss that I had as a young girl. As the time passes I can detect more spicy notes, vanilla subsides and I am left with ginger and musk. On me the final dry-down is somehow similar to Musk Therapy by Initio parfums prives.

Vanilla with lime, grapefruit and cardamom. I would say it is more of a man's cologne type scent but with a teeny bit if sweetness from the vanilla.

Smells like real vanilla bean. It lacks something to be loved even though the idea of adding lime and grapefruit top notes is great.

It's fine. I like the beginning which reminds me of a lemon cake. The dry down appeared quite dusty and outdated.

#883 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant. This caramel-vanilla scent's only distinct characteristic that I can discern is a strong lime note that doesn't seem to belong here. Like all citrus it fades out, but it ruins the opening for me. I have a dozen or more far better vanillic scents, so I think this is a waste of anyone's money and won't be a bottle buy for me. Lattafa "Khamrah" and "Khamrah Qawah" do this better for less, and they don't do this as well as Kilian's "Angel's Share", which doesn't do this as well as MFK "Grand Soir", which in fact sits at the pinnacle of this category and for which there are several similars that come close enough for less than $25 and are still superior to this Boclet scent.

Too sweet. No depht, gave me a headache both times I wore it.

Smells like a bathroom cleaner product

After a first phase of about an hour in which this perfume transmits a sensation of being a quite evident lemon and ginger candy, it reaches a drydown, for me is more pleasant, in which a delicious and spicy sweet vanilla remains on the skin. This vanilla is not excessively sweet but at the perfect gourmand point, not at all cloying and balanced by the cedar wood. I personally love it. On my skin I don't find it so similar to Lira by Xerjoff or L by Lolita Lempicka because the spicy aspect is much more reduced than in these two. As for comparison with Bake by Akro or Devotion by D&G, Vanille seems more delicate to me in regard to the citrus notes. With respect to Bake in particular, it seems to me that it tends more towards the feminine side due to its greater sweetness, even though it is perfectly wearable by a man as well. It has a moderate sillage and sticks to the skin fantastically, lasting over 12 hours on my skin. I think it is a perfume with an excellent quality-price ratio that I would definitely include in my collection if I would need a warm, cozy and sweet vanilla in my wardrobe. Scent 8.5/10 Duration 10/10 Sillage 7/10 Quality/price 8/10 Versatility 7/10 Packaging 6/10 Would I buy again? I did not buy it

I love this fragrance 🙏🏻 Lavish vanilla, cardamom, sweet citrus and salty caramel... The top notes stay surprisingly long time, middle and base are smelling rather linear and predictable... but so so tasty and addictive! Gourmand with a twist :) I feel like I was created for this perfume:) yes yes, exactly me for it :) It is unique and special... But what makes me really exited is a fact, that this “Vanille” smells on me exactly as “Flowerbomb” V&R. This is neither bad, nor disappointing : I love both fragrances, although have to admit that Franck Boclet is much more about quality and high standards. Don’t you find this interesting? 😃 To all the “Flowerbomb” and Franck Boclet lovers - I advice to try amazing perfume with taste of smth we already know and love ❤️ Good luck and be inspired 💋

Fluffy lemon-orange vanilla cake. It feels this one has more orange than lemon on addition to a very sugared bourbon vanilla base. It feels like a mix of Lira and Dulcis in Fundo, no floral touches here (not like Devotion that has some white flower notes) this is also similar to by Love & Crime Ex-Idolo...so which one is the best? all of them are very nice, gorgeous citrus vanilla dessert scents, but you might be able to find Franck Boclet Vanilla for less than $90 (I got my 100 ml bottle for $86) if the price matters to you maybe FBV can be a clear winner. Regarding longevity and projection I really have not found a differences between the scents I mentioned. All of them have a medium to low projection and lasts 3-4 hours on my skin, even Lira which was the most expensive from the bunch.

Vanille by Franck Boclet is a cozy, gourmand vanilla scent that wraps you in soft warmth without being overly sweet or cloying. It feels like a comforting hug on cooler days, perfect for winter evenings or relaxed weekends when you want a little cheerful sweetness in the air. Longevity is moderate, usually around 5–6 hours on skin before settling into a gentle, close skin scent; projection is moderate, enough for personal enjoyment and subtle recognition by others nearby. It’s a nicely balanced vanilla that’s approachable and easy to wear even if you’re not usually a gourmand fan. The old formulation was better. More citrussy

The sugary fluffiness of the vanilla in here reminds me of the vanilla in Eilish. The Lira similarities are only present in the beginning and are absent in the dry down of this fragrance *on my skin*. The dry down falls flat. Oddly enough, there is something in here which reminds me of Lune Feline, if you took out everything that made Lune Feline dark and smoky. Overall a decent fragrance but not worth the price tag and there are better fragrances in this smoky-lemon-vanilla field (I recommend Unknown Pleasures and Valkyrie).

This is giving me that delicious citrusy caramel of Xerjoff Lira mixed with the warm spicy ginger and marshmallow notes of Killian Princess. I get a sugary key lime pie filling with fluffy vanilla marshmallow meringue on top! It’s a gorgeous, soft gourmand that is worth the price and totally gift-worthy, as well!

This is like a mild room temperature earl grey tea with skim milk with a big squeeze and zest of lime. This is refreshing and could be nice on a tropical vacation (I like to wear Virgin island water normally). To me its completely different from Lira which is vanilla cake soaked in spiced booze.

It reminded me Absolute Aphrodisiac from Initio with added lemon. Maybe this one is little less heavy, but it reminded me AA and not Lira at all! Please tell me I'm not crazy and someone else can smell this similarity as well. I like it so much, it's easy to wear all year round vanilla!

People say this is gourmand, but I'm getting a perfect vanilla cedar with a touch of ginger and caramel to round it out. I'm absolutely dying waiting to pick up Nishane Ani from my mom's house in another country, and this is going to get me through! It's giving the same vibes.

loved the opening. something in the mid and dry down was quite off-putting, however. it made me feel a little nauseous and triggered my gag reflex a bit. i suspect it’s the ginger and cardamom combo. was excited for this one since i love lira. 😕

Has something quite intriguing about this, sharp acidic on vanilla at first but settling on a nice smooth caramel vanilla with a touch of clean musk. I agree with a below reviewer that fans of Lira will enjoy this one too.
