Double Mystery

Double Mystery? It didn't even have a touch of single mystery for me. I actually didn't write any rough notes to later form a review of double mystery (as is normal practice), it's only been a few days since I wore it and I genuinely can't remember much about it. Other than it being a woody floral, ('white' flowers) perfume, competently made and quality enough to demand this Luxury aesthetic, price tag (just about) but my fundemental question (now having tried the whole line) why buy this as a perfume or smell, if not motivated by the luxury watch angle or the packaging? Because I don't think you necessarily would otherwise, and that's all fine. I thought the perfume was decent enough. But ultimately (and quite literally) forgettable.

A woodsy floral scent that is well-crafted and of sufficient caliber to merit this Luxurious aesthetic. The base notes include sandalwood, myrrh, cedar, labdanum, orris root, patchouli, incense, musk, saffron, oakmoss, and vanilla. The top note is bergamot. The middle notes are Jasmine Sambac, Neroli, Tuberose, Geranium, Lily-of-the-Valley, Orris Root, Rose, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, and Citruses. Strong enough are longevity and silage. Lovely fragrance!

Double Mystery by Franck Muller is a majestic woody floral scent. You are instantly greeted with a fresh green vitality of citrus oils enveloped in a cinnamon dusted classic rose. The geranium adds to that herbaceous aroma and warmth. This rose-centric fragrance conceals a bouquet of kaleidoscopic tuberose, exotic jasmine sambac and aldehydic Lily of the Valley. The flowers do not reveal themselves at first just like Franck Muller's exuberant Double Mystery watch that hides time and replaces the hands with jewels. It was this ostentatious watch that inspired the perfumer, Beverely Bayne to create this perfume. The hidden richness bares itself like a slow release in controlled dosage and never overshadows the rose. The beauty lies in how the velvety florals flow into the drydown and leave a lasting impression resting on a seamless woody base of patchouli, sandalwood and myrrh. It takes several wearings to fully appreciate the complexity of this scent and different facets to it.

I think this was the one fragrance which made me crazy for white florals. It has so many layers, it feels like after every hour, another layer unfolds. It's a blend of all amazing notes and every note makes it's appearance in a timely manner. It's as mysterious as the names says, every single wearing unwraps a mystery and takes me into a ride of hidden scent world. After wearing it multiple times, one thing I have figured it out that it gets very strong after couple of hours, I love the scent but as stronger it gets, it makes me dizzy. I am not sure, this is the issue with me only or other people can also relate but there were times when I had to jump in shower just to make the scent go away as it was all over my head. I wish there was a solution to this issue.
