Pure Addiction

This is the pinnacle of baccarat rouge alternatives—and I’ve tried, sampled and tested so many. And I like how this isn’t even as hyped as CDN untold by Armaf. Please, Cubaknows take down that video 🥺🤲🏽, cos sometimes I enjoy the extreme myopia in the fragcomm. Well, I’ve had this for almost a year now, and I can tell you that this smells so natural and well blended. The orange adds an amazing twist in the opening. Instead of your regular pure sweet candy floss opening, In here, you still get it a lil bit, then an added sweet orange. Settles down to a more woodier version of Baccarat rouge. Lasts moderately. 7hrs+, with an above moderate projection. Thing is, you can easily go nose-blind to this one, and the entire DNA. Yeah, I’ve been a victim quite a number of times. Finally, I always tell people that if they can’t afford the original BR540, they should go for any alternative they can feasibly get without paying so much. You don’t need to find the ‘best’ br540 clone. Just get one or two and let the urge go. Majority of people(non frag heads especially) WOULD NEVER tell the difference!!!!

6 spray minimum for me but i love spraying cologne. I have 540, Extrait, Ruby, Rouge, Untold, and Red Edition because i have an awesome family that knows i love this scent profile/DNA. I reach for this more. PA is slightly less classy for me meaning i can where it everywhere, same with the Zara. And even though the orange seems to hieghten the floral notes its probably the most masculine along with the red edition. Lastly i don't really go anosmic to PA, 540 is magical because its so many contradictions at once but i go nose blind everytime i wear it. Same with the other so called clones. PAs biggest issue is that it doesnt project and doesnt last unless you bath in it, which i do sometimes lol. Its really good though:)

I actually didn't know this was a clone. I know the house and was in a place sampling smells. I had to have it when I smelled it. Sweet yet with depth. Well balanced. Great for a date. Loud for a few hours then close to the skin with the same intensity. Honestly, such a please scent. My partner LOVES it too.

One of the best clone of MFK 540. It is less synthetic than Afnan Violet Bouqet and Al Haramain Amber oud rouge. The longevity is a above average at the price range. The cap is wooden. The bottle has niche texture. I can belive they can add these details and sell at a very low price. Hard to find though.

Pure Addiction is my favorite perfume from this house, it's so gorgeous the scent profile it self is unbelievable, also performance is pretty good i get like 7h to 8h with 3.5h maybe 4h projection every time i wear this perfume i get at least 2 compliments. for me it's a blind buy worthy without a doubt

I really love this cologne. It is an orange blast with a BRR540 DNA. Fresh and easy to wear. It is unisex leaning masculine. It's quite lovely. I've gone through about 3 full bottles of this!

Personally I don’t care if it’s a clone or not. I really like it and the price is very reasonable.

Great budget alternative to 540 to my nose a little smoother and longer lasting

Pure Addiction is soft, airy, and sweet. On first spray, it is a bit medicinal, which I don't like, but that dissipates within 30min and then it is orange, amber, and praline. It lasts about 3 or 4 hours on my skin, and doesn't project very much (and I am an over-sprayer) -- but I might be nose blind to it because I stop smelling it on clothes pretty quickly which is odd. I will probably carry an atomizer around and top it up during the day from now on. I might try laying it with Ambroxan or Iso E Super to see if it helps with projection and longevity and I will update if that works. I haven't experienced BR540. So I'm not sure if it resembles that, but it does smell like a slightly more masculine version of Cloud. I enjoy this fragrance, I don't love it though, mostly because the performance isn't great. For that reason, I kind of wish I went for Club de Nuit Untold Armaf instead. But for the price, Pure Addiction is pretty good.

SO as someone who is not the biggest fan of baccarat, 540, I wasn’t so sure I was going to be amazed by this one, when my friend said, this was a dupe for baccarat, 540 I thought it was going to be like all the others! Just meh No, yeah absolutely was not, and in fact, I l like this a lot more than the original baccarat This one is sweeter on my skin but still has the airy vibe. And does have a nice citrusy thing going on. It’s really nice and will be getting myself a bottle for sure....

Like many of my fellow reviewers, I have bought most of the clones from Lattafa, Armaf, Al Haramain, Ariana, and Mancera. It isn't as playful as Ariana, nor is it beastmode like Armaf, Al Haramain, and Mancera. With that said, the subtle addition of orange makes it more refreshing and less synthetic, yet still reminiscent of the classic BR540 DNA. It is more wearable than the other ones in warm weather and close encounters. At this price range, it is affordable and enjoyable.

Very likeable fragrance. Overall it’s a creamy, orangey, amber fragrance. Easy to wear, very versatile in terms of the time of year it can be worn and pretty close to unisex. It would smell good on most age groups. Moderately sweet without being sickly sweet. It lasts about 4-5 hours on my skin. Cheap price point makes this an easy blind buy if you like those notes.

Never had my nose on BR540, but this smells good. I get a juicy orange and a bit of musk in the background. Like orange sherbert and cotton candy.

I like it. Sweet and spicy, but then somehow fresh. Unisex. Great for cooler weather and evenings out.

I get the cedar and Orange straight out the gate I just wished it lasted longer!

* Unusual and intriguing blend of citrus, amber, spice, and wood aromas * Distinctly different from the "Touch" line * Very clean and uplifting for an amber fragrance * Unisex * Poor performance * Requires massive overspraying and respraying * Drydown can come off like handwashing soap to some * Not as good as the "Touch" line * Nowhere near the Baccarat Rouge 540 clone it's hyped to be Franck Olivier's Pure Addiction is quite a different fragrance than most to my nose, an unusual combination of citrus, amber, spice and wood aroma notes. It makes for a more pleasant and uplifting fragrance than you would normally get from an amber style cologne. It's very distinct from the Franck Olivier "Touch" line, all of which I have and love. This is nowhere near the Baccarat Rouge 540 clone that it's made out to be. 540 has no citrus notes and is much more distinctly woody and ambery. Pure Addiction is more like a Baccarat Rouge 540 Lite, think of it as a citrus enhanced flanker. As such, it may not necessarily appeal to fans of 540, especially in the drydown which may come off like ahnd soap to some. The major issue here is poor performance. This requires massive overspraying and respraying to get anything resembling any kind of performance. Performance is on the level of a Guess Seductive Homme or English Laundry. To be fair, it is priced accordingly. But it's still disappointing given the much better performance of the Touch line. This is totally unisex and is safe for all occasions. Given the weaker performance, it's best reserved for warmer weather.

Well, here i go down the rabbit hole again. I might as well have bought the real MFK BR540 for how much I’ve spent on its clones, chasing that elusive beast... sad face! Do I hate this frag? No. Does it smell like BR540? Meh! Sniffing up close, it doesn’t smell very much like its namesake. But, the wafts of its scent emits a vague familiarity that has you chasing it down for want of a stronger sniff... only to be slapped on the nose with the pungent, spicy moss and marigold notes. Ouch! That being said, I just bought Al Haramain’s Amber Oud Ruby and it’s literally a $60.00 bottle of alcohol and water. The Armaf Untold doesn’t fair much better. I like this fragrance and I will wear it... 20 to 30 sprays and holding my nose for 15 minutes every time. Oh well, on to the next.

Imagine stepping into a fancy soirée, decked out in your best Chanel, radiating elegance. Now, picture yourself in a Pure Addiction fragrance—it's like wearing a Chanel knockoff you bought from a questionable van at the back of a flea market. At first sniff, you might think, 'Hey, this is kinda close to the real deal!' But as the night goes on, you realize that while Pure Addiction is definitely inspired by the luxurious vibe of BR 540, it’s more like that friend who shows up wearing a designer label but can’t quite pull it off. It’s good, sure, but when you catch a whiff of the real deal, you know you’re in the presence of greatness. So, while Pure Addiction might get you compliments, you’ll always be reminded that it's the budget version of a haute couture dream!

OK for the $ 27 I spent on it. Don't get ANY resemblance to BR540 whatsoever. I like many of Franck Olivier's fragrances. You will NOT get burnt cotton candy. You will not get silky saffron. Certainly no almond. All what make for characteristic BR540 smell. All right I will give on the jasmine but it is very light here and struggles to pierce through. Good smell but $ 30 and not a penny more in value.

To anyone who said it smells like BR540- F YOU!!! Apart from the opening spray like only a minute it gives a cotton candy with orange but then it literally DISAPPEARS. After that it smells like a random vanilla perfume which fades in an hour. Total waste of $23. Don't buy it. Edit: it is giving a bit cotton candy vibe but only on clothes not on skin. Still very weak. Airy smell.

Pure Addiction? More like Pure Disappointment. This is not the hyped-up banger I thought it would be. It's far too linear and dominated by the orange-saffron notes well into the dry-down when the sweeter base notes should speak more clearly and with greater force. It's also far too soft. Beware of the Fragrantica cheapy-clone echo chamber.

So far I liked or loved all Frank Olivier fragrances. All of them were definitely punching way above their price in both performance and scent itself. This is first one that had me disappointed, again in both performance and scent. I'm not hating it, but it is borderline of meh and dislike for me. More specifically it dislike on skin but ok in the air if spray it as a room scent. Maybe if it macerates it will become better? Still, I don't see me wearing it, unless I will live 100+ years more and run out of the rest of my frags. On another note, I see zero, none, zilch, nada, nothing at all in common with BR540 or any clones of it. At least my bottle has near zero sweetness in it. The only thing in common is some chemical like undertones, but even that not the type BR540 has hints of.

This is a freakin' airy type of fragrance that I can't barely put my nose on. I get the orange but not that citrusy type, it's just too airy that I can't seems to describe. I think those saffron maybe blocking sense. At least BR540 gives me that cotton candy sweet vibe, but this one doesn't. The worst part of this perfume is I can't even seem to re-sell it even at half price. WTF!

Smell ok, but it doesn't last at all. Not joking, after 15 minutes I barely smell anything on my skin! Sillage literally doesn't exist! Smells like BR540 but just right after you sprayed it out then becomes some kind of spicy scent.

Just received a sample which came in what was essentially a plastic ketchup packet. This was a hint of what was to come. This fragrance smells like a metal mop bucket full of the cheapesr harshest vodka one can purchase. In the vodka someone has dumped some rotten old orange peels. The kind that have become rock hard from sitting around in the bottom of the trash for weeks. Throw in some sweet-ish dry old grass and maybe something like clove or cinnamon. This is on the Mount Rushmore of the most vile fragrances I've ever sampled. After I submit this review I'm taking a shower immediately to scrub it off. It is literally making me ill.

Extremely weak , was not expecting such a product from Franck Olivier at least. This is a waste even if u get it for free no projection no sillage no nothing.

For the price value of this fragrance, this is totally a banger! There’s not much to say here, but rather it has all the qualities and similarity to Baccarat Rogue 540, Mancera Instant Crush and Thomas Kosmala no 4. The performance is decent and noticeable if applied properly. Worth every penny!

I just unboxed this fragrance today. It was a very Affordable blind buy on fragrancenet. This is definitely BR540 and I love it. I prefer this over cloud. My friend has BR540 and it smells exactly like this. I’m glad I can now have this scent profile at a fraction of the cost.

This is reminding me of PDM Kalan but not as masculine. But still a lot more wearable the rind of the citrus is coming off like black pepper. But mixed with that BR540 DNA. And so far it’s projecting nicely I can smell it off the top of my hand I sprayed

Word in the street has it that Pure Addiction is another BR540 smell-alike! Coming from Franck Olivier's stable, this is going to a banger in the months to come as its pricepoint would be endearing to fans of sub-luxury perfumes! IG: @mr_cornells

Like a candy shop. By mistake I put on Amber to make it stronger and the blend works very well I think.

this scent is reminiscent of BR540 and it evokes all the features of BR540....it’s a good one !!

This is one of the best if not the best clone of 540 at this price point period 💪🏾
