Franck Oliver Sun Java Men EDT opens with a moderate projection of sweet, citrus, spicy, fruity, and woody accords. The opening is citrus fresh, breezy, and pleasant. The bergamot, orange, and mandarin create a great, sweet, sharp, and citrusy note, very natural; the mint is also prominent, it adds more to the freshness of the fragrance with its cooling green and slightly spicy note; the watermelon is the sweet, fruity note, noticeable, smooth, but intense, and it feels delicious. The geranium is a soft floral touch. The palisander rosewood is a base note but comes up as soon as the fragrance is applied, this note feels sweet, woody, soft but very aromatic. The vanilla adds its sweet touch that enhances the fruity accords; the amber is a projecting accord, also sweet but it does not take away the fresh character of the fragrance; finally, the musk is also a support and projecting note, it does not add itself as a noticeable note. The fragrance is relatively linear, the citrus accords are a bit sharper towards the opening, however, they lose some intensity towards the dry-down. Not described officially, the fragrance has a fresh spicy note similar to white pepper. Once Franck Oliver Sun Java Men EDT has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, sweet, mint, watermelon, and rosewood fragrance with ozonic, soft citrus, and floral accords. The fragrance feels airy, breezy, casual, delectable, elegant, energizing, fresh, fruity, gentle, inviting, masculine but not for much, modern, natural, nicely-blended, playful, refreshing, relaxing, spicy, sporty, sweet, versatile, woody, zesty, and very pleasant. RECOMMENDATION: Franck Oliver Sun Java Men EDT can be found discounted for about $16, for this cost this fragrance delivers outstanding value. Its longevity and performance could be better, but it is very pleasant and very versatile. This is a great buy. BLIND-BUY: Yes but only if you are familiar with its main notes. SUMMARY: A moderate projection, sweet, mint, watermelon, and rosewood fragrance with ozonic, soft citrus, and floral accords. I bought Sun Java for men years ago when I was in search of a fruity-tooty watermelon cologne. The price for this goes for $20, so I figured it was worth a shot. Unfortunately, the watermelon has such a minute, synthetic sweet presence. The best summary of Sun Java: a cross between Le Male and Dunhill Desire. It's not as pungent nor metallic as Dunhill Desire and it's not a milky-brown vanilla I detect in Le Male. It opens with a rush of powdery sugar sweetness similar in Dunhill Desire (red bottle). The citrus notes are all there, bright and present. The citric notes settle down and a barely present watermelon note provides a fruity sweetness to the already powdery sugar sweetness existing. The watermelon feels like the faint scent of watermelon juice that has dried on your upper-lip/mouth area after eating a slice of the water fruit. But again, it's a very minute part of Sun Java. Sun Java then dries down to a sugary amber, sweet wet-musk laced with mint. The pyramid states mint is a top note, but it doesn't really appear until the heart and lasts until the basenotes. The mint is very refreshing in this fragrance and not medicinal. This is absolutely unisex, and would be lovely on either gender. It's be playful and seductive flair on a male, and on a female, I would imagine it would be just as fun and sexy. I would recommend this if you like Le Male/Dunhill Desire and sugary sweet fragrances.

Re visiting this one after a few years. It’s not a bad scent at all. In fact, it’s quite well made for a soft, sweet scent, definitely gives off a youthful, vibrant energy. I’ve realized this can definitely be classified as a “clubbing” scent for young men, and thoroughly falls into the “bubblegum” category of sweet, modern designer fragrances. It’s very, very sweet, but it’s well made. I could easily see it being unisex and definitely will be too sweet and soft for certain men, so try it out before you buy it! Overall I do like it, as it’s a very pleasant aroma. Fruity (not sharp citrus but I get a more watermelon/strawberry type vibe from this one) and floral, with fresh vanilla (not so much creamy vanilla, but pure/raw vanilla) and possibly some green elements, but mostly I get a VERY colorful, vibrant, radiating vibe. It’s called Sun “Java”, and don’t let that name mislead you, because it smells nothing like coffee, and gives off none of the vibes I get when I hear the word “java” (dark, creamy, sugary sweet, chocolatey, etc). Honestly a more accurate and representative name would be “Sun Vanilla Fruit Flavored Green Tea” haha. It’s actually a very well made scent, pretty much completely unknown and unheard of, so no one else will smell like you, and the longevity and projection are both good.

I like this stuff a lot. It's one of my summer go-to's. Amazing staying power, and sillage. Always a compliment getter, very unique also. Only one problem, if you find this at a mall and then offer this to you to sniff, if you like it, don't buy it from them, by it on the internet for what it's actually worth. When they asked who Franck Olivier is they said "Oh, he's a French designer who designed ray bans". I looked googled "Franck Olivier and Ray Bans" and there was no association between the two. Also, they claimed it was worth $95 but they could give it to me for $70. I stupidly said okay and walked out because I loved it. After having it a few days, I did some research (some info noted above) and not only did I find out he had nothing to do with ray bans but it was only worth $25, maybe less. Then I figured out what they do, they push these brands off that no one knows from to suckers for outrageous prices (when it's only worth $15-$30) and they get a nice healthy commission off of it. So I'm just warning you, if you have any doubts about something they offer, do your research. If you like it, and they claim it's expensive, google it, if it's $15-$30 dollars, buy it but not from them.

Love this unique fragrance to my senses. Starting off I get a very pronounced orange/mandarin that’s both tart and sweet. This along with a refreshing touch of mint. 5 minutes after these first few notes I get a cool, sweet, fruity watermelon with which I believe to be the musk it’s not a lot of it but I can smell out the musk. The watermelon note is very well done! As the scent life heads into an hour and for the rest of the life you get a beautiful vanilla, watermelon, hint of woody sweetness fragrance. This scent is an all around scent day or night, all seasons. For an excellent price it’s a GEM. Get this if you like fruity or vanilla scents. Highly recommend. Scent- 10 Longevity- 9 lasts 10 hours 7hours and beyond it is an up close or slight scent. Sillage- 8.5 scent bubble within first hour is at 6 feet approximately, then at about 3 hours you get to arms length projection. Finally for the rest of the duration it is a personal up close scent. Projection- 9 projects beautifully you’ll get whiffs of this on your own and others will smell it radiating. Good projection dies down at about 6-7 hours.
