1270 Extrême

somehow i've never tried the original 1270 - but i'd always been curious. When i saw this - and heard it had better performance, it was an immediate buy. I knew at first spray, i'd made a mistake waiting so long to try this line. It's a very deep, boozy version of fruitiness that you dont often smell. Like a plethora of fruits in a punch bowl of cognac and spice. Just really alluring and unique. seems to last a decent amount of time. Overall, i'm really impressed with it - and can see this being one of my favorite - go to scents. 3/18/22 coming back to update as ive had full week of wearing now. The scent really doesnt go through much change - what you smell at first spray is pretty much what you get. It's a deep, sweet, fruity cognac. Performance is medium with about 4 sprays. The note breakdown shown in the fragrantica listing is essentially useless - so i wouldnt take that much into consideration. The best note breakdown i could provide would be Fruit and Booze. With that said, this isn't as heavy and dark as say - john varvatos dark rebel. It's not a light fragrance either - kind of in between. Very nice! 8/10

I just got this in today smells heavenly. I can't describe it I'm still trying to understand the scent profile. However it smells like candy to me I am getting a mix of pineapple and strangely grape? The more I think about it the more it is getting delicious and smells like effervescent of grape soda

This is a beautiful fragrance. It's fruity, sweet, spicy, and woodsy. Very nice pineapple and grape-like scent, sweetened with tonka and warmed with vanilla, draped across a background of woods. Great classy fragrance that I prefer over the original. Full bottle worthy.

Absolutely love it. Fruity with that sweetness from vanilla and tonka coming through. Also get that guaic woods to add a little smokiness. Overall just so amazing, natural and long lasting

Frapin 1270 Extreme is fittingly an amped-up version of the original boozy/fruity/sweet/spicy 1270, a consensus delight except for its performance, and the Extreme flanker is a bit stronger, but in its increased density, loses a little bit of the balance that makes the original so light and easily enjoyable. So Extreme immediately feels like a tradeoff, with increased performance but decreased ease of wearing, and I think that’s a tradeoff that many would opt for, but I’m a bit stuck in the middle. The density of Extreme reminds me of 1 Million or perhaps 1 Million Intense, with a sort of candied musky sweet brightness that, when exaggerated, makes it a bit of a departure from the original. I never regarded the original 1270 as quite full bottle worthy for retail since it was a bit fleeting on my skin and short of magnificent as a scent, and I more or less come to a similar conclusion with Extreme, which, while performing better, has a little less magic to it than the original. Overall, as with the original, though, I quite like it, but don’t quote love it to the point of pursuing a full bottle. Frapin Extreme is sold at boutiques like Luckyscent (where I got my sample) for $190 for 100ml, slightly higher than the $165 pricing for most of the rest of the line. 7 out of 10

Why anyone would EVER rate or post about a fragrance PRIOR to smelling it, is beyond me. Opinions are welcomed, ONCE YOU F-N SMELL IT! JFC, ppl. This smells nothing like 1270, however THIS IS NOT 1270, its 1270 extreme. Different name, different scent here. Don't cry. It smells good. Very good, however it smells slightly feminine. The artificial "grape"-like smell i pick up on in 1270 Extreme, I also find in LIBRE edp and LIBRE Intense (marketed for the ladies). It may be just me, but I was immediately reminded of my wife's LIBRE edp upon the opening. 1270 Extreme blends better after about 30min, and it is beyond a pleasant scent profile. People just get their hopes up and can't open their minds to accepting a fragrance for what it is. Instead, ppl tend to bitch and wish it was different. Smh

Just tested this out from a close friend who is decluttering their fragrance collection. Scent profile: Frapin 1270 Extreme on my skin smells very fruity. Without looking at the notes and blind smelling/testing on skin I am getting a vibe of grape soda or jolly rancher’s grape hard candy which is so weird I have no idea why. When it dries down I then began to pickup this pineapple/ bubble gummy sweetness. Then I look at the notes and sure enough there’s apple and pineapple in the fragrance and the jasmine and woody nuances which I all pickup. I have no idea why I still smell grape soda or grape jolly ranchers but I still do when getting wafts when minding my own business and not paying attention to my wrists.

It should have another name because it does not have much resemblance to 1270. It does smell like an crisp apple, a sweet honey pineapple without being as overwhelming as 1270 and It is less punchy. Both smell like a delicious dessert to me but the drying of the Extrême version is way too vanilla for my taste. The climate where I live is tropical and in winter it is not too cold for this perfume to be ideal. Definitely in very cold places where these perfumes are appreciated the warmth they radiate.

1270 Extreme isn’t about the notes; I can’t really identify any of the listed notes...this fragrance boils down to Grape + Wood (other reviewers had me sold on this description)...there’s nothing else to know about it...if Grape + Wood sounds nice to you, you will like it...if Grape + Wood doesn’t sound nice, you won’t like it...got this for a phenomenal deal on discounter — $79...pulls “compliments”, if that’s a thing for you

Quite a nice fragrance. Opening is fresh, sweet and fruity (I smell a dose of prunes dipped in whiskey or rum) , dries down to a : soft, creamy, guaiac/wood and sweet scent. It's really pleasant, nothing unique or out of the box but a decent scent, also masculin oriented in my opinion. Not very similar to 1270 in my opinion.

Opens up with bright fruity pineapple and elemi resin accompanying soft floral and cedar all throughout. This smells super lovely. Sucks it really doesn't last like at all for me, literally fades into a skin scent within 45+ minutes or so. Also, really do get the soda vibe as well.

such a boozy fruity sweet scent -- very cognac to me. I smell pineapple, prunes, cedar and tonka -- if you like Plum in Cognac, Ambre Narguile, Angels Share -- same overarching boozy sweet genre. very pleasant; nothing I will be dreaming about, but I am happy smelling it.

It smells nice but very weak. To feel the smell, I need to focus on sniffing and get my nose really close to the area I sprayed the perfume. Since the name is 1270 Extreme, I was expecting something with a better performance.

For pineapple lovers. Pineapple is the star of the show. I can smell pineapple, jasmine and apple. A fruity floral perfume, nice for spring and fall to my opinion. 100% unisex and for all ages. 7/10

I’m not sure why Frapin just didn’t give this newer release its own name, as it is neither extreme nor similar to 1270. I adore the original which I describe as Christmas In A Bottle. The “extreme” version though is a completely separate fragrance with very different notes. I actually find that the original is longer lasting and stronger in sillage. I do not enjoy a cola or root beer scent, and the extreme version gives me this right from the start. It’s not unlikeable, just not for me. In short - if you are unfamiliar with both Frapin 1270 and the Extreme, try them both on your skin and decide for yourself. They are very different from one another. If you are familiar with the original 1270, do not blind buy this one expecting 1270 dialled up to 11.

Delicate (pine)apple, a hint of rose, forming a lively balance with light wood and jasmin. The resins make it sing. The fruit seems to be there just for giggles but gives you a point of interest, transitioning in to the beautifully deep and warm jasmin cedar vanilla blend. This lovely blend may be just a little bit too sweet for me, but I could get used to that, especially with colder temperatures coming up. It's one for evenings and special occasions I would say.

Extrême letdown The original scent profile was perfect and just needed more projection and longevity, and this has not delivered it. This one has a crap ton of jasmine and the pineapple is not as prominent and much more "green" compared to OG.

Much starchier than the original - not sure if it's actually more long-lasting.

Nothing special. Fades away very quickly to a typical sweet flower scent. Default to Tobacco Vanille!

The perfume is very fruity but warm on my skin, I can smell the apple, pinneaple. It's very woody as well with the cedar and I also get the rose since it's quite strong . The problem is, this perfume has quite synthetic/plasticy undertone to it, which is so hard not to get a headache to.

My first impression of this compared to the original is, if I were to describe the original. Imagine a bunch of different yummy fruity, coffee, vanilla, different bits of spicy notes, encapsulated in a amber colored honey crystal if you will. And Some pineapple, apple crispness, and sparkles are slowly melting this honey amber ball as all those other notes eventually melt out of it... This reminds me of the original, however, imagine this one is a .. lets say purple candied sorta crystal that you see some yummy notes in, and to melt this one, just a bit of pineapple sparkles are not gonna be enough and you drench this purple candied crystal, ultimately its not enough and just some of the old frapin 1270 comes out... So I guess a .. more fresh, more pineapple, sorta .. "purple" version of 1270? Where as the original is more kinda gourmandish if you will. Which is better.. hrmmmm I guess first impression so its hard to tell, id probably go with the original just because I like more yummy kinda scents. Honestly although its not strong, ive never had the original disappear on me after a couple hours like some people, and my only qualm with it has been everynow and then I smell a butterscotch note out of the original which I dont enjoy. But even that kinda varies on if my nose picks that up.... Anyway good smell, but I think I might prefer the original. I guess perhaps to this ones credit if I was looking for compliments perhaps I might say go for this one over the original since its maybe fresher and for lack of a word maybe younger smelling.

The opening of 1270 Extreme gives me a big wallop of concord grape but rapidly goes in a dried fruit/resinous direction. It smells delicious, almost mouth-watering without being overtly gourmand. Some powdery spices and mellow woods blend the whole thing together beautifully. A while back in an organic chemistry class I was tasked to distill some brandy. 1270 Extreme reminds me of the oil left behind the distillation: sweet dried fruits with a hint of spices and woods. The only crime committed by 1270 Extreme is the subpar performance. While I get somewhat average projection in the first 2 hours or so, the fragrance then dissapointingly turns into a barely detectable whisper of powdery spices and soft woods for the rest of its lifetime (8 hours or so).

This is probably the most disappointing fragrance I have ever tried. I got a 10 ml decant, so there could be an issue with the decant. But I sprayed like 10 sprays and smell almost nothing. This is the weakest performing fragrance I have ever tried. Curious if people have had a different experience? The decant was from Myfragrancesamples so pretty sure it’s legit. I’ve been happy with samples from them before.

What a delicious fruity scent! Fruits and booze alongside some fragrant floral notes, this is a winner. It is almost pound for pound the same as the original, and I didn't notice it projecting any more. I could happily wear this day in day out, to the office, out with friends, around the house. It's stylishly inoffensive and I couldn't imagine anyone not liking it.

This is very sensual, gently sweet, and slightly masculine leaning. I’m definitely getting a woody grape, which I love. It’s a beautiful, round and puts my brain in a nice place. But I have to agree with the others, this is very weak juice. I dumped almost an entire sample onto my shirt, and I can barely smell it.

The cola note is here, but it blends in a beautiful way with jasmine and with this sort of fruit jam accord that is a Jerome's mark. It's not outstanding, but the elemi resin and the patchouli really gives it a royal vibe. Cons: 1270 was the year of the Eighth Crusade, led by King Louis IX of France.

With my skin chemistry, I got the pineapple note in the beginning and then it was just guaiac wood the rest of the time. Doesn't have much sillage at all and less than an hour after putting it on, if I want to smell it I have to put my nose to my arms. And this is 'extreme'?!

Top note smells a lot like Armani Code Profumo: powdery cola. It’s a milder cola note, but it’s the same general feel to my nose. There's a nice amber base under this but I do not care for the cola scent. After multiple wears, this is just not for me.

This is Royal Crown's Celebration. was excepting more of a unique scent. the plus side is If your thinking about purchasing R.C Celebration no need just buy a bottle of 1270 Extreme, a lot cheaper.

Modern with an old world vibe. Spicy, slight sweet and tangy vanilla fragrance. It’s proper and unisex but slightly masculine in my opinion.

Take my money NOW!! The original is great and I hope they addressed the performance. Possibly a perfect fragrance here!!

The notes are wildly different from 1270, looks like a completely different scent. (if Fragrantica got the notes right)

Wow 1st time smelling this and its almost identical to Vince Camuto's Eterno.

1270 Extreme reminds me of TL Altamir.
