6 Hours To Rio

A beautiful fragrance. Very complex. I can’t clearly identify its main direction. Fresh? No. Citrusy? No. Spicy? Floral? Woody? Also no. ALL OF IT AT ONCE! It’s pleasant, elegant, and masculine. After some time, notes of sharpness, anxiety, and danger become noticeable. It is monolithic in its chaos and chaotic in its monolith. It is versatile. It is alive. If I try to reduce all the emotions to a common denominator, this fragrance is about adventure — or the anticipation of it. You are Bruce Willis in a Hawaiian shirt with a gun tucked under it, driving down the highway under a blazing sun. Beneath you is an old-school convertible, and on the radio is The Cardigans – “My Favorite Game.” Six hours to Rio. And what’s in Rio? Endless dancing? Sultry women? Shootouts? Maybe all at once? There is no answer, but everyone is free to give their own imagination a “green light.”

6 Hours to Rio is a fragrance with a lot of depth. It's a powdery, slightly musky tropical bomb with a lot of oud; kind of soapy, almost like a shower gel. It's weird in a good way. I wouldn't say it was a love at first sniff but it grew on me. Its a crowd pleaser and can easily fill an entire room. I also found it sort of nauseating in tiny spaces so wearing it in a cold climate is a must, at least for me. Lasted around 12 hours on my skin. Could feel it around me even with the tiniest blows of wind. Rating: 8.5/10;

My nose says: Aqua de dora with a bit less wood/smoke. But the similarity is uncanny.Did not expect that at all! Like it a lot!

Absolutely in the style of Tygar: candied, but not immature citrus with depth and nuance thanks to them resting on bases of amber (ambroxan) and/or wood. It's what I like to call Elevated Citrus. Several levels above a "freshie", but simplistic in its execution in a way that makes these kinds of fragrances easy to wear on a regular basis, but also can be "dressed up". But where Tygar is grapefruit through and through, the melange of citruses in 6 Hours to Rio make it smell different from Tygar. To my nose, I really pick up the pineapple and the mandarin, but I guess different noses will detect different things. All together you absolutely get a fragrance that is more tropical and more fruit cocktail than Tygar, but it is in *no way* syrupy, thick, cloying or heavy in it's fruit cocktail-ness. I think that tends to be what differentiates the fruit cocktail fragrances that are unisex leaning masculine (like Tygar, 6 Hours to Rio, Vibrato etc.) from the ones that are unisex leaning feminine (Erba Pura, Kirke etc.). The unisex/fem fruit cocktails have an extra punch, thickness and syrup-like nature that are louder and bold. These ones are lighter, airier, and more ethereal. 6 Hours to Rio maintains the airiness that the Tygar profile is known for, but because it is a different set of fruits and citruses, it isn't redundant to have both, if the Tygar style is up your alley. It also smells just as high quality as Tygar and the other fragrances of that genre. Definitely should be talked about more, and I recommend sampling or trying in store if possible.

Like it a lot! Beautiful? Yes. Memorable? well, it's very cool . Also yes. Tropical? Not really. 🌴✨ To my nose, 6 Hours to Rio evokes the atmosphere of a luxury resort overlooking the ocean at sunset: it is effortlessly elegant, breezy, and sophisticated. The opening is fresh and sparkling, thanks to bergamot and citrus, but what stands out most to me is the ginger. It adds a vibrant, slightly spicy energy that keeps the fragrance feeling bright and alive. As it develops, soft florals take center stage, touched by a hint of mango rather than dominated by it. The fruit never feels sweet, syrupy, or heavy. The creamy sandalwood base grounds everything beautifully, adding warmth and softness without becoming overly woody. And thankfully, despite the listed oud note, I barely detect any oud at all. An easy-wearing niche fragrance for spring and summer, with moderate projection and around 4–5 hours of longevity. It promises Rio, but instead of a caipirinha on the beach, it gives you a chic floral dress, ocean views, and a warm evening breeze. 🤍🌺🌊

Lovely playful woody gourmand that is fun and happy to wear. The opening is mostly tropical fruits like pineapple, mango and guava. The brief heart has ambrette and rose. The perfume settles on a powdery semi synthetic base of sandalwood, vetiver, amberwood, musk and slight oud. The unisex scent (many nods to Bombay Bling by Neela Vermiere) has moderate to strong projection and good longevity. I think it’s a great choice to wear for a sunny excursion outdoors. Enjoy!

Opens as Bvlgari Tygar, dries down as those chemical deep sea aquatics (e.g. Black Sea). Nice.

It's ok. Bvlgari Tygar inspired fragrance with slight tropical twist and some Oud Wood-style oud. Lots of amber-woody molecules. Unremarkable.

A rush of citrus on the opening, litsea-lemon, almost like lemonade. Woody around the edges, getting fruitier with time. Ah, Frapin always shows such elegance. The fruit is tropical, pineapple, mango, then electric pink guava. A fun journey through the heart. Towards the finish, rhubarb, a hint of melon & saltwater, a wisp of vetiver-like grassiness, faint tonka, and a synthetic dark wood that is present but not overpowering. Some similarities to XS by Paco Rabanne. Wearable pop. The girl outside the club wearing the oversized faux fur jacket. Not for the timid. The finish is a bit ketonic, but you might not notice if you've spent the night out drinking in Rio, or elsewhere.

This smells nearly identical to Turathi blue. What a let down. Don’t even bother if you have tyga or vibrato as those smell much better than this. Lucky I only bought the travel spray but even that is a waste of money as I own and never wear turathi blue anymore. Not a good release.

Requested got a decant of this from noseparis with my MFK gently fluid silver purchase - can’t say i’m sold, like it’s not a bad fragrance gives me Tygar vibes. Perhaps others may like it more.
