Attendre & Espérer

A straight-forward tart and peppery lemon that leans very masculine. That's it. 3 hours into wearing it, I have not felt anything but what is presented in the top notes. No sweetness. Just citrus and woodiness. I don't mind it, I think its nice and quite a safe zesty fragrance you can purchase for the hot times. Rating: 7.5/10;

if you love Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 + Iris, you will love this. This is like EM's older, sharper, and nuttier sister while still keeping that comforting quality. I will say, if you are like me and already own Molecule 01 + Iris, you probably don't need this

I can’t help but love this. The nutty walnut on opening is so beautiful and dries down to an addictive citrusy grapefruit, which I love but wish those woody, nutty layers lasted longer.

Something between CDG Man 2 and Unknown Pleasures, very nice for cold weather.

Airy woody aromatic scent designed as a tribute to the Protagonist of the Dumas masterpiece ‘The Count of Monte Christo’, Attendre & Espérer (Wait & Hope) begins with a citrusy blast and slight black pepper. The brief heart has orris, cardamom and caramel. The perfume settles on an earthy base of walnut, vetiver, cedar and synthetic musk. The scent is pleasant, masculine leaning and has moderate sillage and good longevity. If there is a downside, it is not hugely novel from many other similar offerings from this line or on the market. Enjoy!

Testing this blind and after two wearings it is swaying me to like it more and more, however its relatively mild mix and soft sillage keep me at bay. The initial opening gave me a hint sweet, almost roasted corn or popcorn element, with some dried wood. While it does earth out a bit and holds onto enough sweetness to give it layering it just feels too intimate of a fragrance from start to finish. Feels safe for a gift, leaning masculine a little bit. Like it, but at the end of the day it's barely so.

I love it but the performance is pretty bad on my skin, it just doesn't project & last probably like 4-5 hours max with a very low projection.

I bought several samples of Frapin and this was one of them. At first, on my skin, it smells like a lemon cream that is more tart than sweet but then it changes to a scent that I didn't like so much. For some reason it give me the vibe of an old piece of furniture from my grandparents' house. I know this house has a certain aristocracy in its fragrances that maybe I'm not used to but I definitely did not like the dry down of this one.

Review after get the bottle with high hope and a little bit dissapoint to me Nutty Vetiver with a hint of powdery iris. follow by Cardamon and black pepper smokey , woody, spicy and sweet But overly Sweet... sweet like most designer fragrance... maybe sweeter

This scent gives me e headache. Opens up woody/vetiver but the dry down is a mess : earthy/walnut, powdery iris, neroli mixed with a litte spiciness, a real mess.

This is very dry wood, with a hint of lemon and an awful lot of pepper. It’s not sweet even a little bit. It’s a very straightforward masculine scent, but somehow it also reminds me of my grandma’s purse (as brilliantly described below by Elysiom). It has this smoky familiarity, which eventually drives this into unwearable category for me.

Sweet roasted nuts with a powdery iris... god this is a comforting smell. It smells like my nana's purse- god how do I describe that. You know that sweet smell of someone's clothes that uses iris/lavender baby powder, but they're also a menthol cigarette smoker? Like like sweet secondhand smoke smell combined with baby powder? God I'm doing this poor fragrance an injustice with that description but that's what it is. The slight spiciness- I can see this being a masculine scent. It's a rounded nuttiness with sweet spices and light powdery iris. If you also had a grandparent who smoked menthols, this may remind you a little of their clothes. Which sounds terrible, but I swear it isn't! No actual smokiness if that makes sense.
