SPEAKEASY هم از این قاعده مستثنی نیست و شفافیت و قابل تشخیص بودن آکوردهای اون و البته تغییر نتهاش، این عطر زیبا رو به عطرهای موندگار کارنامه ی درخشان این هنرمند اضافه میکنه. اونچه که در این عطر نمایش داده میشه؛ تلاش عطار هست برای به تصویر کشیدن دوران پر از تنش ممنوعیت در دهه های دوم و سوم قرن نوزدهم و تشکیلات غیرقانونی اون روزها که در زمینه ی نوشیدنیهای الکلی فعال بودن تا اینکه میرسه به پایان اون دوران و احیای اصطلاح Speakeasy در ابتدای قرن بیست و یکم در کشورهایی که این صنعت در اونها مجاز اعلام میشه و بارها در اون کشورها به فعالیت می پردازن و نوشیدنیهای کلاسیک و با کیفیت ارائه می کنن. جناب کورتیشیاتو در انتقال این داستان، موفق عمل می کنن و حس و حال هر دو فضا رو بخوبی انتقال میده. شروع با شکوه چرمی-الکلی عطر، بسیار تاثیرگذاره و فضای دلهره آور فیلمای نوآر رو به خوبی القا میکنه. انگار تو فضای سنگین پاتوق سه ضلع مثلث فیلم رفقای خوب هستم و نگاههای عمیق و دلهره آور جیمی کانوی(رابرت دنیرو)؛ شیطنت و هیجان تامی دوویتو(جو پشی) و درونگرایی و تعمق هنری هیل(ری لیوتا) فضا رو تسخیر کرده! حسی واکس خورده و کمی انیمالیک از چرم در کنار حسی تلخ و شیرین و مشروبی که کهربا و پچولی اونو خاکی کردن؛ جاری در فضایی تنباکویی؛آغاز قدرتمندی بر این نمایشه. تا مدتی طولانی عطر، عرصه ی حکمرانی این فضای پر ابهته. اما وقتی از ساخته های مارک آنتواین حرف میزنیم؛ نباید زود قضاوت کرد و از بازی نتها غافل شد! چرا که به مرور یه بوی گیاهی شاداب و کمی گلی شروع به بالا اومدن میکنه که کمی هم چوبی و جدیه و فضای ابتدای کار رو کم کم به حاشیه می بره. این بوی سبز و شاداب، اونقدر قوی نیست که فضا رو زیر سلطه ی خودش ببره ولی بخوبی حس میشه و جدیت و سنگینی آغاز کارو متعادل میکنه. نکته ی بسیار جالبی که در این لحظات وجود داره اینه که هیچ آکوردی برجسته و پیشتاز نیست. مثل تشویش و تعقیب و گریزهای دوران ممنوعیت! عطر در این لحظه شیرین و گلی، چرمی و الکلی و دودی و کمی انیمالیکه! درست مثل تجربه ی ناب اما دلهره آور یک لذت ممنوعه! ربع ساعت از این فضا میگذره که لذت واقعی SPEAKEASY به زیبایی جلوه گر میشه! تنباکوی معطر در کنار آکورد مشروباتی که حسی شیرین و خامه ای از گلها و تونکا رو در پشت سر دارن؛ فضایی لطیف، گورمند و بسیار دلفریب ایجاد میکنن . مدتی بعد کهربای شیرین و دوست داشتنی به این فضا اضافه میشه و عطری بی اندازه دلچسب و آرامش بخش خلق میکنن. این آرامش و تجربه ی لذت بخش، پاداش اون همه خطر کردن و عبور از محدودیتها و تنش هاست! این فضای زیبا و دوست داشتنی، پایان بندی لطیف و غیر منتظره ای بود برای شروع سنگین و تاریک عطر و پایان عصر ممنوع بودن لذت بردن!! باز هم جناب کورتیشیاتو هنرمندانه ما رو درگیر یک چلنج بویایی کرد و خاطره ای خوب با Speakeasy ساخت برامون. الحانة: هذا هو معنى الاسم تقريبا سابد اولا بتقييم الثبات 10/10 الفوحان 6.5 جمال الرائحة9/10 ------------------- العطر هذا اعتبره اتقان اتقان اتقان في توليفة الروائح فهذا العطر تستطيع ان تصنفه عطر سويت وتستطيع ان تصنفه انه عطر حمضيات لطيف وتسطيع ان تصنفه ان عطر سمكوي نظرا لتواجد التبغ ولكن الاتقان الذي اتحدث عنه التوليفة الرائعه من المكونات وعدم طغيان رائحة على رائحة من بداية الى اخره ولو لم اطلع على مكونات العطر لوجدت صعوبه في تحديد والتقاط الروائح تشعر ان الروائح او السلسلة الهرمية هنا حددت بوقت زمني كي تظهر اعجبني كثير هذا الامر في هذاالعطر البداية اسره وتوحي لك بالفخامه والتميز البرتقال والرم اعطى تميز رائع للمقدمه مع مشاركة الليمون اللطيفة (اليمون الاخضر) مع تواجد لطيف للتبغ فروائح الحمضيات هنا ليس طعور الحمضيات او عطور الكولنيا عكس ذلك تمام لربما من وجهة نظري وجدتها غريبة عليك في المقدمه لاتشعر ان هناك رائحة تطغى على الاخرى بشكل يجعلك تنزع فالمقدمة بداية تبعث للنفس الانتعاش والراحة وبداية تحتم عليك ان تقف دقائق صمت لتكشف سحر هذا العطر قلب العطر يشارك الافتتاحية بالنعنان اللطيف مع رائحة حلوه كرائحة العسل والفانيلا ارجوك لاتفهم انه يوجد نوت الفانيلا بشكل صارخ هنا بل سشتعر به فط كتوقع اتمنى وصلت الفكرة خلال النصق الساعه ستجد العطر بدا يفصح عن قاعة العطر والتي اراها تبدا برائحة التبغ الهادئة الرائعه بالجانب الرائحة العنبرية الطيفة جدا جدا مع رائحة اللبنديوم اللطيف جدا مع رائحة جلدية اجد العطر كل برد كل ماكان اكثر نعومة وبرزت اكثر رائحة التبغ الرائعه هنا التي لطفت اكثر بلمسات بنوتات سويت (روائح كالفانيلا والعسل) اعتقد انها التونكا بجانب Immortelle التي تجمع رائحتين العسل بجناب الحلبة وكل ما برد العطر اكثر كلما بدات زهرة بملازمة التبع اكثر لاتقلق فليس هنا رائحة للحلبة بالشكل الذي ينفرك فقاعدة العطر هي مزيج واضح من التوباكو والزهرة المذكوره اعلاة مع لمسات بسطية من الفانيلا والعنبر النباتئ وتنتهي قصة العطر بعبير المسك العطر يختلف تطورة بشكل ملحوظ عن رشة اما على الجلد او الثياب ملاحظة مهمه: اجد بعض النوتات في هذا العطر قد يصعب التطقاها الا بعد تجربة مره ومره ومنها العنبر والجلد واللابنديوم اعتقد انك قد تحلضهم مرة وقد لاتحلظه مرات عديدة عند استخدامك للعطر من جديد وهذا ماحدث معي فعلا بعض النوتات لم اذكرها لاني ربما لم الحظها وليس لدي اطلاع سابق على الزيت العطري الخاص بها.. تذكرني نوتة السويت بشي بسيط جدا جدا جدا جدا من عطر بعطر شيرجي هذا العطر مميز وهذا راي الشخصي والذي لايعني انك تشتري العطر بل هو اقتراح لتطلع على العطر ومن ثم تقرر هل تشترية ام لا. الانف خلف هذا هو Marc-Antoine Corticchiato. ولكن هذا العطر يختلف عن عطورة الخاصة بشركة او علامته فعطور الخاصة تتسم بالجرأة والغرابة والتميز لكن بالنسبة للعطر الحانه المنتج لدار فاربين speakeasy اعتقد انه استخدم عناصر التميز والجمال اقصد بالتميز ان الرائحة ليست متكرره بشكل كبير الجمال اقصد به عبير العطر خالص التحية لكم لاتنسوا ذكر الله والصلاة على النبي

Fragrancenet had its last bottle of Speakeasy sitting for $56 shipped so I had to pull the trigger. This has to be one of the most elegant boozy tobacco scents a gentleman can wear. It hits the perfect balance of youth and maturity that few if any, fragrances have. Imagine walking into an upscale cigar lounge and ordering a fine rum with hints of fruit and a sweet tobacco leaf cigar. Now you walk over and sit on a vintage cognac Dutch club chair. light your cigar, take a sip, and sit back and relax. That is what Speakeasy invokes. The fragrance opens up bright. It's so well blended that I don't get the lime or sweet orange, but I suspect those are the notes that give Speakeasy its bright opening. After 5 minutes a sweet leathery rum comes through with well blended tobacco as a supporting note. As the fragrance develops the immortelle starts to creep in, cutting the sweetness of the tonka bean and giving the rum and tobacco an added backbone that gives the fragrance a soft, smooth, subdued, and elegant feel. Musk and amber can be a dangerous combination but in speakeasy, it gives it a type of sex appeal in the dry down. With the soft sweetness of the tonka bean and the dryness of the immortelle mixed with the musk and amber; speakeasy dries down into an elegant caramel smell off of my skin. I see a lot of people crap on the performance of Speakeasy, saying that it only last 4-6 hours and that they wish the boozy and tobacco notes were more amped up. I feel like they don't understand what speakeasy is trying to be. A gentleman never smells like they got done chain smoking and raiding someone's liquor cabinet. Subdued and elegant is the name of the game for Speakeasy.

Speakeasy opens with rum and leather with just a pinch of mint. I’d say it is pretty good opening as it gets my face on a grin every time I smell it. As opening settles down it smoothed the small rough spots of opening and freshness of mint/geranium disappears and rum/leather blend much better together along with this greenish and balsamic immortale with sweetness that also gets strength from labdanum/amber/tonka. Drydown is rather mellow with leather, maybe slight rum note still hanging in there with tonka, labdanum and amber and maybe the aforementioned immortale smell even if the slight green edge has disappeared. Overall I really like the scent of Speakeasey, it reminds me of Serge Lutens - Five O’Clock Au Gingembres feeling of the cosiness and ease of wear; the scent may be different even if both are smooth and sweet with bit of something to make it interesting. Non-the-less both make me happy and force my face to a smile when I catch waft of either. I get good longevity from Speakeasy; it lasts on me most of the day. This can be cause of my skin that seems to hold fragrances really well; yay for my skin! Sillage is great for me too; I do get way more little wafts of this bliss than I usually get form fragrances. However I do feel that this might be one of those fragrances that I would not want to overspray. I believe Speakeasy can be used most of the year, maybe hottest days of summer or cold winter days are not something that I would go with this one, but everything in between is game. All in all I’d say this is my kind of fragrance and I will be getting a bottle at some point, how can I not get bottle that just makes me smile and happy when I smell it?

Speakeasy is a complex scent with a lot of nice aspects. The opening accord successfully evokes a mojito association, but with a slight orangey vibe in the background. Something like drinking a mojito with a slice of orange in it(I'm not sure whether that would be a good addition to a famous cocktail, though...). Later phases introduce a nice, slightly sweetened pipe tobacco note to go with the boozy opening - the rum part of the initial accord stays strong but the plant(lime-mint) part loses its strength. The immortelle note joins in and gives Speakeasy a rather unusual, but undoubtedly excellent heart, and all of those notes are joined by a subtle leather note in the drydown. I can say there are few more notes besides those I mentioned, but I'm unable to clearly discern them. Longevity of Speakeasy, at least on my skin, leaves something to be desired - I mean, I do have a six hours of longevity, but with the notes involved I expected more, so maybe it's just me being picky. Sillage is decent, with a fine diameter but rather thin, just the way I like it. I see Speakeasy as more of a pour homme fragrance, but that's not to say women can't wear it. I don't know how unique this one is, but I don't know anything similar - you can find some of the accords in other perfumes, certainly, but that's almost always the case. This is a good choice for a signature scent, as it's versatile enough and yet with a lot of character and personality. For me, this is another successful Frapin and another proof of Corticchiato's brilliance. 9/10

When I first tested this fragrance, I dabbed it on my skin, and got the lime, mint, and rum in the opening. The mid notes, so a little more leather and tobacco, but never too much. In the base, the tonka bean and amber comes out more and sits there with the rum, lime, tobacco and musk to give it some more creaminess for the remaining life of the fragrance. Spraying this fragrance saw a different result. The leather and tobacco was more prominent in the top, but then dried down to be similar to when I had dabbed it. This took about 1-2 hours for them to be similar. As for the sillage, this projects very well for the first 6 hours for sure. After that it sits close to the skin for the remainder of its life until it fades out. I am very fortunate to say that the longevity for me is spectacular. I have never gotten less than 12 hours on my skin. There are several times where I tried to stay up and wait to see how long this would last, to say: "I guess this is gone enough"and go to sleep. This was around the 16 hour mark. Since I and fairly new to collecting fragrances, I would say that this is the best fragrance that I own, and am very pleased with Frapin's Speakeasy.

I like this a lot. It's not too challenging a wear which, as I've said many a time, is sometimes all you want: not everything has to be an effort; I wear fragrances to forget my problems a lot of the time, I don't want more. Which I feel actually ties perfectly in with the concept of a speakeasy - going to illegal measures to avoid troubles VS. spending ridiculous amounts of money to do the same thing. I don't know. It made sense in my mind. Honeyed tobacco and rum with a glorious creamy vanilla and amber in the dry down. Leather and immortelle are noticeable. Gin is sort of there but, like an elegant bar, this smells are all mild. A bit sweet, but not too much so as not to make you smell like a candy store. Very mature, but sadly doesn't last too long. Like many from Frapin. Which is upsetting, as many are to die for.

SPEAKEASY is a Gorgeous Scent. Complex, Elegant, Modern, Boozy, Airy and Tobacco. You can't go wrong with it, It smells so good and very pleasant. One of the Best and Unique opening in the Frapin Collection, I fell in love with it at first sniff! I tried it on my skin and I bought it. It opens up with a bit sweet fresh spicy , boozy, green and floral notes in the background then dry down is warm spicy, resinous, Tobacco, leathery and ambery. In my opinion, It is very smooth and soft, Easy to wear, Easy to Love. I really enjoy it and I love it. This is suitable for cold weather. I'm so happy that I have it in my collection. Longevity is Average. Highly Recommended. Two Thumbs Up. Bravo Frapin ! Rating : 9 / 10

There is a flash of alcohol upon initial application, it must be the rum, but I do not get any citrus, indeed no fruit at all. The deep dark smell of tobacco almost immediately takes over, entrancing, along with the richness of the leather - and something incensy - perhaps the tonka bean, styrax or the labdanam, something deep. I like it very much, it really does speak to me of basements with red banquettes, and affluent people in astrakhan collars, drinking hooch out of bone-china teacups. The two Frapin scents I have tried to date (this, and L'Humaniste) have both reinforced to me that Frapin may be destined to become one of the VERY classy Fragrance Houses.

Mm, this is great. I've tried several rum-leather-tobacco fragrances that claim to conjure imagery of similar establishments, but I have found them too perfumey. Too dense. This composition leaves some breathing room, thereby accurately conveying a sense of the smell of a place. It's all in here: pure rum, sweet rum cocktails, cigars (not to worry for the tobacco-hater, just seeping in from an adjacent smoking room), worn leather upholstery, lady perfume, dusty heavy velvet curtains, bodies sweating underneath clothes in a crowded room. It's so literal, I can almost hear the clinking of ice cubes and the chatter of the clientele.

Simply put, the best tobacco fragrance I've ever smelled. It's incredible. I'm sure many would disagree, so sample it first but I think this is incredible. Scent : 10/10 Longevity : 10/10 Projection : 7/10 Sillage : 7/10 Overall ... doesn't matter that it doesn't project for long or strong because the scent is most important and this smells amazing.

One of the absolute best boozy scents I've smelled. The citrus/mint makes it more fresh and pleasant. If CH Men Prive is thick/sweet/spicy boozy, this is light/fresh/citrusy boozy. Love them both.

An incredible creamy leather with oodles of woody smoky tonka in the drydown working its sophisticated sweet-woody nuance.

I love Whisky scents... In my research and orgy of Scotch/whisky scent purchases I often saw Speakeasy as a recommendation. Many purchases later, mostly of high end niche such as Fumidis, DS & Durga Hylnds, Baque etc I finally had the urge and ordered this. GoRGEOUS! It reminded me of another which I love - D'Orsay Le Dandy. Today I refreshed myself and sprayed both on each arm to compare. Bright opening reminding me of a blended Whisky with ice and diluted with water in a tumbler with a blonde tobacco hint slightly smoked and the remaining notes on the table coming across as more of I guess a chocolate sweetness. This is where Le Dandy differs as the smoky tobacco and chocolate is replaced with a bright yellow and white florals. On the 30 min dry down it remains a warm and inviting chocolate syrupy feel where as Le Dandy is a bright cleaner fresh less peaty like feel if you will. Both awesome scents worthy of sitting on the same top shelf as the expensive niche products - the only negative is its projection which is average and longevity is at 2 - 6 hours compared to Le Dandy and the others which keep going 6 - 12 hours in. For the price - absolutely awesome value and easy to blind buy if you like common quality scents like Spicebomb, L'Ideal etc and like a Whisky scent. I will always have a bottle in my collection!

This word evokes the charm of an era of prohibition, where words whispered the word "speakeasy" meant entering speakeasies, smell Cuban cigars, drinking, sitting in leather armchairs and enjoy seeing smugglers. Glamour and danger, leather and snuff is the charm that exudes fragrance Frapin where the company has managed to squeeze very well the great talent that has Corticchiato perfumer to create this original fragrance. Corticchiato takes all these substances and mixes in a shaker in the style of Frapin to create a complex, original and different aroma, where all the essences do not feel on an individual basis but denote be perfectly geared as a string to form a all. The mixture is very homogeneous, compact and evolution of the fragrance from citrus notes starting with the agreement of rum is very good, in my opinion the best of the fragrance, mint and geranium heart that feels very light and imperceptible up to a markedly dry drying, highlighting the aroma of tanned leather mixed with blond snuff which is a sweet deal and lush by the rum that is felt until the last moment. Speakeasy as I said I still find an original work, but not the best in Corticchiato, work for one of the houses most serious French perfumery which also makes Cognac from 1270: Frapin. Rating: 6

A nice alternative in the sweet tobacco genre, Frapin Speakeasy starts off with lime and orange, which, at first, I may not have pointed out myself, but I do sense both after smelling it for a bit. As it settles down, I get a little bit of the geranium but not much of the mint or other notes. And the base slightly reminds me of amber and musk but not much else beyond that. Certainly the sweetness is not cloying here---it's not vanilla, or honey, but rather a citrus that dries down to the amber and musk. It's a pleasant blend overall, and likely to satisfy many. It's sweet, but not too sweet. It's bright, but not overwhelmingly citrus or floral, so it still has day/night and even some hot/cold versatility. At $195 for 100ml (on Luckyscent), though, I'd still have to nearly love it in order to seriously consider buying it, and I'm afraid the citrus and tobacco combination far more pleasant for me in something light like Banana Repubic Black Walnut than a more serious attempt like this, though I did enjoy trying it. 7 out of 10

I honestly wanted to love this and get the full bottle just because rum and tobacco - need I say more? Instead, I’ve settled on just admiring it from my little sample bottle. My first test with this one was most definitely positive. A few weeks later, I decided to give Speakeasy another go as I was deciding between this and L’Humaniste. Once again, it started out great with Speakeasy having the lead. An hour later, however, it (d)evolved into the smell of burning paper. Like ashes! That just reminded me of the Hungry Ghost Festival back home where my family would gather and fold little yellow and gold paper monies to burn as offerings to our ancestors. Not a bad memory, but just no. Personally, I find that while Speakeasy appears to be a great boozy fragrance with rather interesting notes, it just did not agree with my skin chemistry. It was disappointing to me as I really really loved it at first. And thus, I am continuing forth on my quest for the ultimate boozy fragrance..

There's a lot going on in Frapin Speakeasy--all good! The first time I applied this perfume, I was struck by the geranium and mint combination which reminded me of Frédéric Malle Géranium pour Monsieur. That impression swifted passed, however, as tons of orientalia arrived on the scene. It's another complex concoction, for which Frapin is famous, in my experience, anyway... However, the sweetness has really been kept in check with the effect that I am much more favorably inclined toward Speakeasy than some of the other creations of this house. The composition seems complex and even a bit cluttery but somehow not quite congested. There is no dried fruit overload, among other things. There are some spirits, and the tobacco in the drydown smells especially swell. I like it. Probably my favorite from this house so far... Is this what a Speakeasy smells like? It reminds me of library in an old house with paneled walls and book cases all in teal and cherry wood.

I have recived a sample of this perfume through yuniqu and i am testing It today. The perfume is nice but for me nothing special. The opening is nice with the rum and the tobacco, i think a bit more masculine maybe with the mix of leather. But the dry down is very common, i have smelt It lot if times before... Maybe bit the same but similar. There are, for sxample, lot of nishane's perfumes with a similar dry down, or even paloma y raíces by homoelegance. I expected something stronger, darker and more intense. But as ive said is nice, so i am going to wear It with no problems. The biggwst issue i find is with the performance. The longevity is too low for being an eau de parfum and the sillage is weak too. I think this could be a good option for daily use or as Office scent as It is not intrusive at all. Scent: 7.5 Longevity: 6 Sillage: 5 Quality/price: 4.5 Versatility: 8 Originality: 5 Global: 6.5

I probably wrote a review of this years back and never posted it because the sample I dug out is really old. I can’t believe I didn’t comment on the misty, suede opening slightly gourmand with Tonka, settling to immortelle, tinged with mint. The tobacco base is then evident in a mellow skin scent, this stuff has an uneasy (or unspeakeasy?) charm. Usually, I’d find the immortelle a bit too much but with the surrounding notes it’s bearable and quite weak in terms of longevity and projection so I can appreciate the artistry without having to become sick and tired of it several hours later. Many Frapin fragrances have a boozy touch to them, this doesn’t but somehow that boozy quality is implied by th name and perhaps the tobacco? I liked it upon trying it again, as it can't of made too much of an impression on me in 2013, it’s great to dig through and revisit old samples.

Booze, fresh booze. Consider for a short moment that there's actual alcohol in this. More cognac than whiskey though. Flowery liqeur. A dry and frozen Benedictine. Geraniums in the window. Tobacco appears. Cigars in a leather wrapped case left sitting in a puddle of rum on a wooden table. No one cares. No one has a lighter anyway. There's a lady in the back behind some dusty old curtains, something powdery. She's waiting for something. No one knows. Maybe the drydown... Is that gunpowder?! Nah, the beans are tonka, not lead. The lady burns some incense to clear the air as she readies the tables for the following day. The next morning there's a hint of quality booze gone stale from an empty glass left behind. This perfume screams criminal conspiracy! And I think that is the whole point. Go try it! It can only go wrong when the police arrive.

This is beautiful! Easy to wear and safe, suitable for mild cold weather, fall, spring and cool summer evenings. The vibe from it is very familiar with me.. sniffing it, I get the vibe from Bvlgari MIB, Spicebomb, CH Men Prive, Eisenberg J'ose etc.. it's not similar to them but if you like them, you'll probably like Speakeasy. It doesn't smell expensive or unique but it's super pleasant sweet/boozy scent. Dominant notes are tobacco, rum, soft leather, mild immortelle, mild vanilla (although it's not listed), very mild mint without its usual spice, faint styrax, faint sweet orange and mild tonka beans. Well, I dare to say that I like it more than Frapin 1270 which is also great offering from Frapin house. Performance is high-moderate overall.

Frapin's Speakeasy smells very classy. It really does bring to my mind images of old speaskeasies, smoky dens and secrecy. On my skin the top notes consist of lovely wam tobacco smoke shot through with wisps of rum and musk. The heart is a fresh, clean leather, with an edge of sweetness from the tonka and just the tiniest hints of mint and lime. Sadly, this wonderful harmony of notes doesn't seem to last very long. Little more than an hour later, Speakeasy has settled down into a faintly sweet, powdery smell. Speakeasy also has very little projection. My nose pretty much has to be right up to the scent in order to smell it. Even so, though, I would have to say this is a like.

This was a disappointment for Frapin I guess since it's constantly dirt cheap on Ebay and on Fragrancenet carries it. People may call it refined or a great alternative to XYZ but being truthful it's a bit boring and comes off with very low sillage. Not that I love beastly scents but after 2 hours this one is hard to detect. Notes such as rum,tobacco,leather, Tonka and immortelle are usually on the "loud" and easy to detect but in Speakeasy everything seems to be a blur. No one really stands out and this scent really has no identity. Is it a boozy scent? Maybe. Tobacco? Hmm.. Leather? Could be.. Maybe this is why some may call it refined but I call it a blur..

Opens with a deep, sweet booziness. There's a sweet, fresh mintiness lingering behind the booze. The citrus isn't very prominent but i can sense it in the background. The tobacco, leather and immortelle are kind of sour but don't really steal the show, to my relief. I find this to be super unisex. Probably suitable for colder weather since the freshness in the opening gets overtaken by the other heavy notes pretty quickly. Immortelle can smell a bit "pissy" if it's too strong, i find it's toned down in this fragrance (or at least, the leather and tobacco overtake it just enough to keep it in check).

A classy, understated and boozy aromatic chypre. The fragrance begins off with a note of leather, rum, davana, sweet orange and lime. It moves to a heart of mint and geranium. Finally as it settles down, an interesting powdery base of labdanum, styrax, tobacco, immortelle flower, tonka bean, and musk is revealed. The slight masculine leaning scent has moderate projection and good longevity. Like most scents in the line, a nice and well constructed easy reach scent. Enjoy!

I don't think the people voting on things like Roja Enigma and CH Prive have actually smelt this... This is a more high quality version of an orange tinged minty mojito but with extra notes of tobacco and immortelle. Very pleasant and unique masculine (imho) fragrance that would probably be great for summer nights out or warmer spring days. If you liked Guerlain Homme but want more quality and unique aspects this is a worthy pickup.

Another good release from Frapin, a modern style leather scent. The opening is boozy minty tobacco, mint note done very well here, not overly sweet. Dry down to a smooth and slightly sweet leather base, I think that sweetness come from the labdanum. Tobacco is still there even in the dry down. Good quality material are used for sure. Performance is average, 6 to 7 hours with decent projection. Inoffensive and safe blind buy.

I really enjoyed this sample, which at first does evoke the sensation of drinking a cocktail in a smoky bar. The notes of mint, lime, tobacco and rum work surprisingly well. Once these notes faded, the immortelle and amber were most prominent on my skin, the combination reminding me very much of Balmain's Ambre Gris. The scents are by no means identical, but Ambre Gris might be a more reasonably priced alternative.

I have just tried this perfume and I must confess I loved this scent, its a mix of rum, orange, tobacco and musk. It is not anything brand new in the market or different of some perfumes but even so it is Good. Did I love it? No, I liked and thats all......

I couldn’t place it - finally I get it. Forget the rum notes, it reminds me of a diuted blended whisky mixed with ginger ale. Pleasant, decent performance but there are many others I prefer like Le Dandy...

I honestly cannot understand why this has gotten almost no attention from the youtube fragrance reviewers.

The opening reveals an orange dipped in a glass of ambery rum, quickly joined by a rising aromatic and fresh effect: the mojito (lime-mint) accord which gives the fragrance its touch. We feel that we are immersed in a fairly loaded cocktail, the "cane sugar" sweetness of the rum gradually install a tobacco with a coumarin aspect of tonka bean. This blond tobacco soaked in citrus alcohol becomes more and more sweet and a bit too flat. I was immediately enthusiastic about Speakeasy at the first spray. After a few minutes, I tell myself that he may be a bit first-degree, weak in diffusion and sillage and without a solid mix of base notes...but it was a nice short trip anyway.

Speakeasy is a whisper and its initial words, though quiet, are at once captivating. Citrus is muted, booze is hidden under mint leaves, tobacco smoke fearfully peeps through immortelle buds and tonka beans. Speakeasy they do. Once the passion dries out and clarity is gone, speak is not easy, it becomes a sweet blurry discourse that I don’t care much about. **(***)

Reminds me of varnished wood. Starts dry and clean, some spice but not too green - smoother than some other woody scents I’ve tried. Very faint warm amber underneath. It sits quite close to skin and dries a little sweeter. I can’t distinguish leather and tobacco notes well but makes sense they’re in there.

I am a sucker for a good fragrance name. Speakeasy alludes to an art deco era replete with illegal jazz joints, bootlegged rum, bugle beaded flapper dresses and the Great Gatsby. So you can imagine my surprise when I blind test the opening. First whiff and I am immediately transported into my Aunt Shirley’s lounge room, circa late 70s, a homely retro kitsch mix of tobacco coloured shag pile, fibre optic lamps, cross stitch artwork and cabinets chock-full of opalescent glassware and cute ceramics. I am positive this memory has been evoked because of the smell of mothballs and a non-animalic musk I detect in the top notes. My Aunt wore musk and her cupboards smelt like naphthalene. I also get lots of brown sugar, orange, candied lime and Galliano in the opening– cocktail ingredients, which probably explains why I suddenly remember the gaudy swizzler sticks and plastic cocktail monkeys that took pride of place above my Aunty’s 70’s shrine to all things alcoholic. It is a warm and fruity opening – I am suddenly craving a Harvey Wallbanger. In the dry down I detect tonka bean, crystallised sugar, candied honey and musk. Not a growly musk that would purr like a Jay Gatsby Roll’s Royce either. I am disappointed that I get none of the leather promised or the blond tobacco that I am so fond of either. Projection is not strong. Perhaps this is where the speakeasy name derives from. It is hush-hush on both tester and on my skin. Perhaps it wears better in winter, as in summer in the southern hemisphere, which is when I evaluate it, it is volatile and evaporates quickly. For my money, my personal pick from the house of Frapin would be Espirit de Fleurs an airy, crystalline and mineral-ly woody citrus or 1270, which also has tonka undertones, but translates better with warm wood and vanilla.

Is this really a summer scent....? I'm not so sure. When I first smelled it I certainly thought so. I instantly loved it! It's got that fresh boozy mojito thing going on, which I love, but I wore it for the first time on a really hot day, thinking it would be perfect. It wasn't. Initially, it's fantastic and refreshing, but after a while it goes through a strange "sticky" phase and the dry down that comes is quite unpleasant in such a hot atmosphere. To me, this has the effect of spilled drinks on a bar, that sweet stickiness from the bottom of your cocktail glass as it sits on the wooden bar top...I also get a faint smell of cigarette smoke with this which is also a little unpleasant in the heat. However, given the idea behind this fragrance, I would say that they pretty much hit the nail on the head! It's fantastic in that respect. It is a great fragrance, and like 1697 and 1270, it's all about jazz, basement bars, smoking, drinking, dressing sharp and just generally being a cool cat! As a fan of jazz and mid-century tailored clothing, I absolutely love the imagine of these Frapin fragrances. They go so well together. So, a great fragrance, but don't be fooled by the fresh mojito opening. It can get a little unpleasant in the heat. I think it's more suited to a cooler climate and also at night too. It does what it's meant to perfectly, but this is not always wearable IMO. I will try this again in the autumn.... This may be full bottle worthy for the right person, but for me I will stick to a smaller decant and enjoy it every now and again.

P. Frapin & Cie is a cognac distillery that has been in operation since 1270. Their fragrances pay homage to the brand's roots with many of their scent pyramids including a dominant boozy accord. Many years ago I owned 1697, a rich, syrupy rum fragrance with notes of dried fruit, cinnamon, vanilla, clove and amber. I tried so hard to fall in love with 1697, but I couldn't get past the intense booziness on my skin. I eventually sold it and never looked back. Speakeasy is another rum-dominant fragrance from this house. I would be lying if I didn't say I was nervous to test Speakeasy, especially seeing how put-off I was by 1697. Thankfully Speakeasy is far more palatable and easier to wear. It has a delicious maple syrup aroma on my skin, in addition to a spiced rum note, a touch of pipe tobacco, powdery immortelle, warm amber and white musk. Despite being a unique fragrance, it reminds me of something I've smelt before but I can't quite put my finger on it. I would wear Speakeasy during the cooler seasons, paired with classy, knee-high boots, a woollen scarf and a trench coat. It's the kind of fragrance you wear to brace yourself against the wintry conditions outdoors. It's warming, just like a shot of rum on a cold day. I enjoy Speakeasy far better than 1697, however, I still wouldn't purchase a bottle. Boozy fragrances aren't my thing unfortunately, but in so saying I would be more than happy to smell Speakeasy on my partner's skin.

If you like complex and non-linear fragrances, this is something worth checking out. Mr.Corticchiato of Parfum D'Empire's fame gives yet another confirmation of his talent by composing an interesting gem. An extremely aromatic green lime note is paired with other citruses and booze to give birth to a sparkling opening. A mint / geranium combo which is not *that* distant from the one found in Geranium Pour Monsieur, joins the party right away reinforcing the overall exotic and summery vibe. I was ready to dismiss the fragrance as yet another citrusy summery thing when it suddenly started to change form and morphed into a bolder tonka / tobacco driven middle phase. Gone is the mint, the citruses and the summery vibe. The transition from the opening was really smooth and so nicely handled that it all felt incredibly plausible and natural. The middle sweet tobacco base lasts for quite a while and when you would expect no more evolutions, Speakeasy is still able to surprise the wearer by introducing an amber / immortelle base to provide even more extra body. Very nice. Given the notes involved, I would have probably expected a bit more potency and tenacity but I can't honestly say the fragrance is weak either. My only concern is that this stuff is probably a tad too sweet to my tastes but if you're fine with it, this is indeed a solid delivery by Frapin. Rating: 7/10

سپیک‌ایزی با آکورد واقعا دلپذیری از کهربا، نت های زمینیِ پچولی و بلوط، نت های میوه ای تازه و خوش طعم، و دسته‌ای از گل ها شروع میشه و اون فضای مشروبی که امضای فراپن هست در اطرافشون قرار داره، از همون ابتدا تقریبا درخشان و جوشان هست، بعدش هنوز اون حالتش رو داره فقط گرم تر و آرام تر میشه، روی یه بیس وانیلین-چوبیِ دنج و سِیف. یکی از بهترین شروع ها رو در بین کارهای فراپن داره، و شما میتونین به وضوح سبک کُرتیکیاتو رو تشخیص بدین (طرفدار پر و پا قرصش اینجاست) ـ همون حس مدیترانه ای با یه پس‌مزه خزه ای-شیپغِ کاجی و گرد مانند، روی یه بیسِ سبز با نت های خوب و ابریشمیِ تنباکو-علوفه خشک-جیر. با اینهمه، تقریبا خیلی زود چراغ ها رو خاموش میکنه، و [هر چه جلوتر میریم] تموم اون روشنی و چیزای خوبش رو این ترکیب از دست میده، و به سرعت به یه ترکیب نازک خزه ای-شیپغِ بی معنی، عامیانه، و حتی تا حدی مغشوش تبدیل میشه، با یه حس مشروبی آبگونه و ظریف. نمیگم بد هست، فقط رنگ و رو رفته و به نوعی شسته شده میشه. واسه ی چند ساعت، و بعد به کلی محو میشه. یه شروع امیدوارکننده داره و در کل بوش خوبه، اما با این حال گاهی اوقات واسم جواب نمیده.

Disclosure here. I'm a Corticchiato and Parfum d'Empire fangirl. I like his entire line and love much of it. So I may be a bit biased. I'am reviewing from a sample, but if the sample is any indication it will be my next fb purchase. This is the summer sister of Frapin's 1697. A light blast of rum with that hint of mint. A mojoito indeed. Tobacco comes into play and swirls around the rum-mint. A little citrus refresher but not much. Some leather. Mr. C does love leather, tobacco and booze. No floral. Cool and refreshing really. Speakeasy may be a bit of a misnomer. Speakeasy implies a dark, cigarette smoke filled back room. More gin and bourbon then rum. More Jasmin Et Cigarette- french than mojito-cigar smoke Cuban. Something of a forbidden illicit pleasure. Speakeasy is none of that. It is a wonderful concoction that I could see more at home in a classy 1950's Cuban bar than in a clandestine New York speakeasy. Marvelous and something I look forward to having more of.

"Speakeasy" is a very interesting perfume, even though it has so many sweet notes I get a very masculine vibe out of this, I think it will be best suited for males who are not afraid of a bit of sweetness in their scents. As with some other tonka bean dominated perfumes I encountered a similar problem with "Speakeasy". When there is too much tonka bean, I get nothing else, so basically for the first two hours I had an overwhelming amount of tonka bean of my wrist. I could feel mix of other notes underneath, but it was purely dominated by the tonka. At the dry down tonka bean fades away and I was left with sweet tobacco and bits of vanilla, sweet, but masculine. Also a bit boring and with slightly less silage I would want. Lasted 6 hours.

On me, this smells like limes and plastic for a couple of hours, then turns into an amber ashtray. It smelled nothing at all like it did on the tester strip. My mum then borrowed my sample, and on her, it smells like an ice cold mojito in the coolest bar in town. It's gorgeous on her. Unfortunately, she left before I could get the dry down from her, so all I can really review is what happened on my skin, which wasn't much and none of it was pleasant. Once again, body chemistry strikes (even in the face of people who claim it has no effect on perfumes). Horrible on me, gorgeous on the tester and the one other person I've smelled it on.

I've really enjoed testing Speakeasy. This one really stands out from the bunch of other Frapin's I've tried so far. Speakeasy has distinctive personality which happened to be very attractive. I love citrus, tobacco, leather, mint, labdanum, amber, Tonka been, boozy notes in a fragrance. This one has it all, and somehow all of the notes dance in a perfect harmony without clashing with each other. Surprisingly, the mix came out feeling soft and gentle as tobacco, leather can get pretty strong in most of the fragrances I know. Very tasteful and refined. Would love to smell this on a man.

I got this fragrance back in 2018 when I was searching for a unique niche tobacco fragrance and it was during the summer so I planned to save it for winter - since it's clearly suited for dressed up winter occasions - but kinda forgot all about it, then a couple of days ago I saw the " No time to die " trailer and it instantly reminded me of this classy fragrance, it's masculine, inviting, warm, playful and one that garners complements and totally suits the James Bond character, I will try giving it some wears this season as I want to get some " Bond " vibes.

To me this quickly dries down to minty tobacco. At first, I was thinking, "note clash," but it did seem to balance out better after half an hour or so. I only used one spray, and my overall sensitivity has been low, but what I was able to smell I certainly liked! Next time I'll have to spray more. UPDATE: On my third wearing I used more and after perhaps half an hour, it really came together, very thick and also dry/powdery. I don't get any of the "usual suspect" aroma chemicals, thankfully, and it's more complex now as well. I intend to keep his one!

I am literally mind blown by this fragrance. Blind bought it, without any googling, neither looking the notes up When you first spray it, you get the burst of lime, as well as some tobacco. Then you pick up some cognac and floral notes as well. I get some Coca Cola, but only if I put my nose to the skin. It’s boozy, but fresh at the same time. One of my favourite date night scents. All year round? Sure. Preferably colder days, or even summer nights. This is statement scent. Scent - 10/10 Longevity - 8/10 Performance - 9/10
