No. 10 Linde Berlin

I’m passionate about floral perfumes. I love the scent of linden blossoms with an intensity I can’t put into words. It’s something I’ve carried with me since childhood... My summers were filled with play under two linden trees, their fragrance wrapping around us like a spell while their crowns kept us shaded from the heat. And in the evenings, after all the running around, I would gather linden flowers with my grandmother and lay them out to dry for tea. That scent is so deeply tied to my childhood that every time I smell linden, I’m instantly taken back to that carefree time, before responsibilities, when everything felt simple and warm. I’ve been searching for perfumes that capture that exact scent. I’ve tried many, but I always felt the linden was lost among other notes that drowned it out, or it was just a vague idea of linden. Nothing truly satisfied me. Here, though, it’s just linden, green notes, and honey. That’s it. And that’s exactly what makes it so special. Everything blends together so naturally that it feels like you’re smelling fresh blossoms, still full of pollen, still vibrant. The sweetness is soft and bright, never syrupy. The green notes give it that sun‐kissed leaf freshness, and the honey rounds everything out without weighing it down. It’s such a natural harmony that it feels like breathing in the air of a June evening, with linden trees in full bloom. For me, it’s the most beautiful interpretation of linden, the closest to reality and to my memories. And I think that’s why it moves me every single time I wear it.

Got myself a bottle of this in Harry Lehmann's shop itself on my last trip to Berlin. Lehmann produces all of Frau Tonis fragrances and sells them as well, just in less pretentious bottles and at a fraction of the price. This perfume beautifully captures the scent and mood of an alley of blooming Linden trees in early summer. With Linden being one of the most popular trees in Berlin and many other German cities like Munich, it really gives me a lot of nostalgia about my home country. It's ethereal yet intoxicating, and it is definitely very old school. Harry Lehmann's perfumery makes perfumes using many traditional recipes since 1926, and you can tell right away. This one has no standard modern notes (citrus, musk, vanilla etc) but really only focuses on its main note with a bit of added sweetness. If you are into vintage clothing, this might be a wonderful accompanying pick. For me personally, having grown up in a street full of Linden trees, it is comforting and nostalgic at the same time. No matter if you manage to find Harry Lehmann's store itself or you only manage to pop into Frau Tonis, do give it a try. It would be a lovely olfactory souvenir of Germany!

I moved to Berlin in 2022. It was spring–summer, and the very first thing I noticed while riding a taxi from the airport was how many trees there were, how much greenery! When I started exploring the city, my second thought was: my God, how much I actually love the scent of linden trees! I had never thought about it before, never even realized it. Every time the lindens bloomed in Berlin, I would go out just to wander for hours beneath them, breathing in the fragrance with every cell of my body. And now, after living here for a little over three years, I suddenly came across a perfume shop of this brand, Frau Tonis. Step by step, bottle by bottle, I tested different scents, and when I reached this one, I couldn’t believe my nose - this was it! That very scent! My favorite time in Berlin... Memories... Exactly 1 minute later, I was already paying at the counter. Now I spray this perfume on myself every 2-3 hours, because it’s my true love. ❤️

You're 21 and in love. The gentle sun wakes you up in each other's arms, and you wish you could stay like this forever, but it's time to rush to school. Laughing and dressing as you go, you run, no, fly through the streets of the awakening city, yet you still end up late for the first lecture because the lindens on the boulevard bloomed overnight, and their intoxicating sweet scent knocks you off your feet, making it impossible to unseal your honey-sweet lips.

Linde Berlin (Unter den Linden) is the one of good Linden flower scent in some scents which I have been tried so far. It's mixing a little bitter Linden like melon with moderate sweetness honey. Usually I don't want to wear a scent like melon-taste, but it's nice. The scent is moderately dense, and for this cost I felt that's reproduced the Linden flower so good. Someday I wish to visit Harry’s shop.

If you are looking for a realistic scent of the linden trees in blossom, you have found it. We have a lot of linden trees in Berlin, and this is what the air smells like in June. Very natural, a bit of linden honey, but not sweet. Fresh and tender blossoms. I also appreciate that this is not mass-produced. This will be on my shopping list for the future!

This is the BEST Linden perfume I have ever come across. It is very natural, true to the sweet blossoms. It smells like summer, the warm honeyed blossoms fill the air, blue skies and a warm breeze, i am taken immedietly to memories in Europe. Truly beautiful, it is long lasting and exceptional quality. Linden lovers this is "the one"!

This almost gave me happy tears. I've been searching for the perfect, realistic linden scent for a year. This is it. This is how the air smells when linden trees are blooming on a beautiful summer holiday as a child.

This scent is the best linden I have got hands on, so accurate and to the point. It makes you sit under a Linden tree on and dwell off to late spring and new beginnings....

I adore the scent of real linden blossoms and right now i can smell it everywhere in my town. I wanted a perfume of the same accord that can accompany me into the linden-blossom-free time of the year. No. 10 is a poor substitute though. I do get the linden blossoms but they are almost completely drowned out by an agressive and loud citrus note. I don't dislike this perfume, it still smells deliciously like citrus, honey, green leaves and faint traces of linden blossoms but even after the citrus has mellowed out over the course of a couple of hours it never reaches the creamy gentleness of real linden blossoms. Sadly, I will have to continue my quest for the real deal

Even though I find it a bit too sweet, I like to wear this one in spring very much. It seems a little unbalanced to me. I will propably layer it in the future with something a bit more tart. Notice that this scent is not made by Frau Tonis, but bought from and made by Herry Lehmann, a beautiful little shop in Berlin, which exists since 1929 and sells their own perfumes for about half the price Frau Tonis does. They mostly have the same names, too.

What a wonderful find. After living in Berlin for over 3 years, I have just discovered Frau Tonis. My wife loves this scent and it is truly reminiscent of Linden trees blooming. What a wonderful way of bringing Berlin with us when we move.

This one is a very photorealistic linden blossom one! I like it very much. I'd love some more depth, because it's a bit sharp, but it's perfect otherwise. It's a "happy spring walk". Feminine I'd say. Very happy with my purchase!

Sharp and sweet, honeyed and green. I got this mostly to remind me of Berlin. Not a perfume profile I normally gravitate toward but I can admire it from afar (sprayed on objects) or layered with No.44 Feige.

It smells exactly like a lime tree in bloom. If that's what you are looking for, this is perfect. The scent doesn't last a lot on me unfortunately.

Oh boy, oh boy, lesson learned.....our mind, our memory can fail, our nose not.... I recently uploaded a thread in the community asking for perfumes with linden blossom inside, because I had sampled some perfumes by A. Goutal years ago, and I thought that the one I could not forget was Eau de Ciel....Nope.....Anyway, I decided and I bought 3 samples (15ml each, was the min requirement for Greece, plus postage it costed me a fortune....). Linden for me was quite powdery, "powdery floral" if I could use this combination - term (I had never smelled a linden blossom before), and sweet because of the honey and I could not smell the green notes at all. Unfortunately, I was not impressed very much..... The second sample was Tulpe, the most delicate out of the three but I did not like it either, and finally Valeria which was a 100% unisex fragrance (which was stated) , a type of fragrance I can't pull off, I truly find them more masculine leaning and I could not stand it at all... I do not know if I made the wrong choices but I could not afford for the bigger sample kit. I have to stress though, that, the duration of the perfumes was impressive almost 12 hours ( I had never smelled before a perfume with such a longevity) which is a big credit for me for this brand. For people living in Germany and may have the ability the visit the store and smell the perfumes at first hand or if you can afford to buy the large kit with all the samples inside, you may find something interesting.... PS: I tried to remember which other sample of A.Goutal could be the one that had impressed me so much and by looking the notes of each perfume in the database I am between Le Chevrefeuille and Eau de Camille but anyway A.Goutal doesn't exist as a brand in Greece and I do not know if these perfumes are still available in the collection of other countries abroad, which have a collaboration with A. Goutal as a brand. I still believe that A. Goutal's perfumes are quite interesting and well made , and if I am not mistaken with a long trandition so they are worthy of recognition.

This is the ultimate spring and summer fragrance. It’s pure light. The lovely linden flower note paired with the honey is such an amazing combination. I fell in love at first sniff and it’s now my favorite spring fragrance in my vast collection. If you love linden flowers then this is a must try. The longevity is great for such a fresh fragrance and I get at least 6-7 hours with projection. Fragrance: 10/10 Longevity: 8/10 Silage: 8/10 Overall impression: 9/10

I love this. It’s the smell of walking in a German village in the Spring 💛
