No. 30 Thé Arabique

I bought this back in spring, looking for a new scent and this one pleasantly surprised me. I got it recommended to me by the shop assistant and I just knew this one was different from the first whiff. It's a moderate, warm, cozy type of scent. First you're hit with the comforting tea-like smell combined with the other notes and after you let it sit for a few hours, it blooms into this light, musky vanilla smell. Other people who have smelled it on me from a distance perceived this as a honey, yuzu, scent. I'd say this nothing overbearing and it rather gathers compliments. It's a unisex scent that is versatile and best worn during humid or rainy days.

This is really such a lovely scent! It's definitely giving tea and fruitiness, which if you don't know that it is quince, you would think it is fig! I find the whisky note very nuanced, and very well blended in the composition, so it is really not overly boozy. It is pretty linear from beginning to end, so not really any significant development in the dry down. This was a gift from a friend who brought it back from Berlin. At first, I thought it was a tiny bit too fem for me, but it won me over! Especially in warmer weather it is so nice with good projection and longevity. 👍👍👍

This feels like an "all seasons, day and night" kind of perfume. It preforms well in the hot and cold. I can't describe it, but it almost smells a bit "humid" making it work well in the summer drifting into fall. Absolutely lovely and receives many compliments. I would say this leans feminine and is a milky/sweet tea scent with something undefined and alluring underneath. It's an oriental scent, but extremely non-traditional. Frau Tonis remains relatively under the radar, and their scents always make me feel glamorous and unique.

On a chilling cloudy day in April I had tried Thé Arabique by Frau Tonis shop in Berlin. After getting the lovely sample flacon from there I enjoined the testing process. Directly after wearing the perfume a wave of black tea with bitter whisky comes out, the combination is very unusual in a nice way, gradually I started sensing the vanilla in background, the transmission to base note is very smooth which takes about 15 min. The base note comes out in vanilla, milk and musk in very clear warm version. The accord is more aromatic and woody which gives a lot of warmth and comfort while wearing it thus I would say the perfume is suitable for cold and chill days. Over all performance is very nice and ingredients are very fine which is part of Frau Tonis perfumes philosophy.

Joyful quince tea with whiskey on a soft bed of musky vanilla. Quite different than the usual 'Oriental/Arabic' perfume. There's also a balmy aspect to it, comforting, not overpowering. This is a sleeper scent. Nothing outrageously experimental or nasty. It is peculiar and different but in a good way. I love the quince scent and it's easily detectable here.
