Grand Ambre

GRAND AMBRE — Fraz Kader Parfums Okay... Grand Ambre is absolutely STUNNING. Yes, it’s sweet — but what makes this fragrance so addictive to me is how that sweetness never feels heavy. The airy, almost salty qualities of the oakmoss and Ambroxan seem to keep everything suspended in the air, while the sweeter notes melt beautifully into the skin. It opens with cacao and roasted hazelnut, followed by jasmine sambac and cedarwood, before settling into this gorgeous combination of caramel, Ambroxan and moss. It’s semi-gourmand, woody, musky, slightly earthy and somehow incredibly airy all at once. And I’m just going to say it: it reminds me a little of a much more wearable Baccarat Rouge 540 — while still being different enough to have a lane entirely of its own. And for context... I HATE BR540. 😂 But Grand Ambre? BIG love. There’s something about that airy, salty sweetness that completely changes the experience for me. Instead of becoming dense or overwhelming, the caramel and gourmand elements stay soft against the skin while the moss and Ambroxan seem to float around you for HOURS. It’s one of those fragrances I could easily wear during the day and then keep right on wearing into the night. Sweet, airy, salty, woody, softly gourmand... and straight-up addictive. Grand Ambre is a YES for me!
