Portrait of a Lady 15th Anniversary

I never liked rose perfumes... never thought I would, until the day I got this on ! I am in absolute awe!! Everything about it screams confidence, elegance and serenity. Even in sweatpants, while wearing this makes me feel all-ready and prepped for going to the opera, a ball, or any opulent event. This could make ex-girlfriends shy while in your presence if you are wearing it :D It's powerful, but not suffocating. Exudes so much femininity and boldness while having something chameleonic about it. On young skin, it smells sweet. On more mature ladies, it's so addictively sexy and poised at the same time. I wish to be buried with this one, that is how drop dead gorgeous this fragrance is for me. So well blended, you can never get bored of it. This will now forever be my go to for when I need a confidence boost. I got it as a gift from my husband for Women's Day which made it even more special. I could not think of a better perfume to gift a special lady, to symbolize your adoration and love.

نسخه اصلی رو تست نداشتم ولی این رایحه یونی سکسی داره به نظر من، در ابتدای کار پچولی نقش اساسی داره و بعد از مدت کوتاهی رز وارد میشه، من این مرحله رو زیاد دوست ندارم، از لحظه ای که میخک و اینسنس رو حس میکنم همه چیز بهتر و دوست داشتنی تر میشه. به نظر من برای جامعه ایرانی عطر خاص و چشمگیری به حساب نمیاد رایحه آشناست ولی به طور کلی عطر جالب و خوبیه و من دوسش دارم

As someone who has gone through a 2014 (OG formulation), owned a 2018, 2019, and still owns a 2017 bottle, can honestly say that this latest issue of POAL (produced in 2024) smells as good as ever. Thank God! I don't know what is going to happen now that Frederic has left the brand, but if you love this perfume, I'd stock up.

It starts off fresher and greener. Then, a more intense spice and patchouli sensation is felt. There are slight nuances. This version felt more refined and natural to me.

I definitely get incense , clove with sophisticated soapy vibe, also the sandalwood in the background is providing beautiful creaminess Do try a decant .

While there's not much more to add to the discourse surrounding this fragrance, it is as magnificent as people say. I love the interplay between the luscious, dark rose and smoky incense, that I feel dominate the wear experience. You truly sense the dynamism of a rose in bloom. There's a hint of something acrid - petals starting to turn, that adds appropriately to the character and sophistication. Comparing this LE bottle to a decant (that I've used sparingly over the years to preserve the juice!), I'd say there's a hairs difference in the composition, nothing to suggest an overhaul in formula. Maybe the full bottle is sweeter, denser and wears more boldly. Never vanillic, but the fruits are a little more robust and perform better through to the dry-down. It may just be due to spraying with freer abandon that I detect more of the nuances! A modern masterpiece that will outlive it's counterparts, for it's intricacies live up to it's reputation.

This bottle is the answer to why I fell in love with PoA, years and years back. It’s semi-dark, definitely bright and a tiny bit sweet—sizzling—with woody notes to tie everything together. The brightness is gone in today’s PoA, unfortunately, and that’s why I vote ‘good value’ for this bottle—a scent that’s hard to come by these days. I only wish you can see how much the juice is left inside, which is not possible in this limited bottle.

The 15th Anniversary edition is about 99% similar to the original version. The opening has a slightly greener note, reminiscent of Rose Tonnerre. As it dries down, this green nuance subtly lingers in the background, becoming almost indistinguishable unless smelled up close. Longevity and projection remain the same.

Compared to the original POAL, this one is a bit spicier, incensey, cedarwoody and fruity. However, I wouldn't say it's really fruity in a sweet fruity way, it's more of a powdery and sour nuance with raspberry elements.
