Though some purport it to be a clone of Ganymede (and its own clones), it is in fact nothing like it. This is a very powerful hybrid gourmand/leather fragrance, as is Ganymede. The difference is that Ganymede blends fresh citrus, mineral and fruit notes with a soft leather note that comes off more gourmand-like and smells like green tea. El Dorado drops the citrus and fruit and adds in caramel and vanilla. It's a strong blend of sweet, mineral, caramel, leather, vanilla, woody, and oud notes. The mineral note is also softer and comes off smelling more metallic. I have only ever encountered this rarity in just one other fragrance, Jaguar Classic Black which I would describe as smelling like freshly cleaned and gleaming chrome. The gourmand and mineral notes in El Dorado give way very quickly to very strong leather, wood and oud notes. This fragrance has some definite heft and punch to it. Fragrance World markets this to men as opposed to the more unisex Ganymede and rightly so. This is rugged and masculine. Female users wil llikely find it way too strong without a fresh note to uplift it. Many users, in fact, may find this polarizing due to the strong leather and oud. It definitely takes a confident man to wear it. This is great for older male users and for use in serious formal occasions as well as more intimate social activities. Presentation is top notch with a classy bottle and a presentation style display box similar to the one Lattafa uses for its signature Khamrah line. Performance is great. A must for leather fragrance lovers. Highly recommended.

First off, hats off to FW for such a good and nice presentation. Simple yet very well done presentation. Nothing poor quality about the presentation. I got this El Dorado on offer, blind bought cuz of the notes. Needles to say, I am impressed with the scent. It's not a dupe for the above mentioned perfumes but there some similar vibes to them...but if you are to put a scent to it, there's some resemble to Ganymede because they are a few similar notes...However This has no gourmand sweetness or feminine floras or fresh citrus But the mandarin orange helps smoothen the opening transition to the heart and base notes...and in them where it's mature suede leather with a just nice softness that it doesn't tinkle or disturb a sensitive nose, it as a metallicness in it, minerals...some spiciness and a slight sharpness from the violet and a softer saffron support. I am not sure what exactly El dorado copies. But given how it smells and develops, if the juice ends up in an indie or niche brand, this would be highly talked about and sought after. Ladies might like smelling this on their men rather than wearing it though. If you blindfold me and let me test I won't brat an eye and tell you it's a Quentin's creation..so perhaps my familiarity with akigalawood plays a part in it or this review But if you need something Special and Cheap. Also note it's listed as An Extrait so the strength and longetivity is there and this projects quite well with a good lovely silage and trail behind you. Really good scent for it's price. Get This! This has become a monumentally wonderful addition to my vast collection... Initially a year and a half ago I felt it gave me a very very similar bloom like Versailles by Jean Desprez, metallic, money, ambition, drive, sunshine, masculinity.. and today after I opened, sprayed out my precious macerated bottle... It floated out its own animal... 2026 is a good time to wear this metallic, clary saged, oud-esqued work of art... I suspect the two frags : Versailles and El Dorado were both driven to create the scent of gold and money and sheer ambition.. and succeeded in many ways... but this is also beautiful art, artistry.. and Wondrous really.... I'm now wondering if I should gatekeep this or tell the world, I choose to say it out plainly: THIS IS A WONDERFUL ADULT MAN'S FRAGRANCE.... Strong, Clean, Personable, Intense, Sunshiney and so damn Attractive...

My signature fragrance through and through, this is just one of two fragrances I rated a 10/10 on scent alone! A gorgeous sweet yet airy leather perfume, which is somewhat rare to come by I feel, the creamy combination of woods give the leather an elevation, I somewhat get a bit of sweet almonds from this but I reckon thats just a combination of the woods and leather together. The top note of caramel is where its at however, a subtle rich sweetness which lingers throughout. I have worn this in spring, summer, autumn and coming up to my first winter with it, its a powerhouse throughout with a great longevity of about 7 hours. Perfect with a leather jacket, ive worn this to the pub and club many times and had lots of positive feedback!

With reference to @tomkleins comment below, and while I've never tried Fugazzi, El Dorado has Quentin Bisch written all over it. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the perfumer, given that he's been collaborating with UAE based houses as of late. This has his signature Akigalawood note clear as day. The drydown is very reminiscent of other creations of his, specifically Kenzo Homme EDT intense and Bois Impérial. I don't get much cumin here but I do get the caramel, saffron, and leather. Great scent and the performance is quite good. It's not a very safe blind buy, but if you're a Quentin Bisch fan, you will most likely enjoy this.
