Ighwa

REVIEWER: 66yo professional gentleman with the mature, masculine, old-school tastes one would expect from a man my age. I've been collecting fragrances for seven months now and have about 100 fragrances. IGHWA EDP by French Avenue CONTEXT: I blind-bought Ighwa several months ago as possible alternative to Afnan Turathi Brown (TB), my current cold-weather daily-driver. I've let Ighwa mature ~4mos, even though, Like TB, it was smooth and beautiful right from the box. UNlike TB, which just keeps getting better, deeper, smoother and more complex, Ighwa doesn't seem to have improved to any discernible degree. I don't yet own YSL Tuxedo, so I can offer no comparisons to these inspirations. I'm presently wearing Ighwa on my left wrist and TB on my right. OPENING: The opening of both are really delightful. Ighwa has a lighter and ozonic start compared to the warmer, deeper spicy/woody/amber beginning of TB. DRYDOWN: Ighwa develops a bit more floral/amber with occasional whisps of subdued vanilla as the lighter notes cook off. Then it remains that way in a linear fashion as it rides off into the sunset, becoming just a memory in about four hours. TB loses is sharper spicy aspects quickly leaving the warm spices while the vanilla, patchouli and balsamics emerge. It, too, is rather linear after that and lasts 6-7 hours before becoming a skin scent. VERSATILITY: Ighwa can be worn in all but the hottest conditions, but will really shine in the spring and fall. TB is better for winter and late fall/early spring. The Ighwa leans a little more daytime while the TB leans more evening. PERFORMANCE: Ighwa Is kinda like the kid brother of TB. Ighwa is lighter, and can't run as fast or throw the football as far as TB, and it runs out of steam sooner. BOTTOM-LINE: If these were boxers, Ighwa would be a featherweight while TB would be in the middleweight class, and both have similar fighting styles. As of 1/7/26, 100ml on Jomashop: Ighwa EDP is $50 and TB EDP is $32. It is the closest to the perfume it is inspired by, with 99% accuracy, so faithful that you can't distinguish between it and the original unless you smell both from a distance of 1 cm to detect the difference in the quality of the oils. I own the Original, Suits from FW, The Tux from Maison Alhambra, Moustache from Rochas, and Rifaaqat Adorn from Paris Corner, and among all of these, Ighwa stands at the top in terms of quality and performance (currently lasting 12 hours on the skin and 24 hours on clothes), but it comes at a higher price. If you're willing to pay a premium for the closest experience, then go for Ighwa. Otherwise, go for either Moustache or The Tux, as Suits seems weak to me compared to the two. If you prefer a version with an emphasis on woody notes, then go for Rifaaqat Adorn.

I only have YSL Tuxedo Sharp Patchouli, but I have read that its the exact same so this review is based off of this. Ighra is a beast of a projector! 5 sprays and it was announcing itself 5'. This is the same projection I had off of the OG. It only lasted 2 hours though and was a skin scent for maybe another 30min. The OG has a skin scent for about 6 hours. French Avenue nailed the Patchouli scent. I am hard pressed to tell a difference in that regard, however with performance like this, you need to carry around a decant with you. For $50, its not worth it. Id scoop it up in a heartbeat for $30! This blows Winsome/Tux out of the water. I have a bottle of it and it smells nothing like the OG. That bottle was a waste of $20!

Nose Note #991 I'll be very concise. If you want a cheaper, but not any worse substitute for Rochas Moustache - this is it. I don't know about YSL Tuxedo, but people say Moustache and Tux are the same. This, FW Suits, Maison Alhambra The Tux and Kismet for Men - all are practically same thing, I can't compare them side by side, because I had the decants a long time ago, but from memory - just the same thing. You can definately feel the violet leaf that connects this to Dior Fahrenheit. Leaning masculine, I can't say it's 100% for men. There's sweetness and transparency about it that could suit a woman. Not crazy long lasting, but strong enough, but worse than Moustache. 8/10, great, mildly sweet, gentlemenly

French Avenue Igwha is a very solid clone of YSL Tuxedo and is incredibly close to the original in scent profile. It captures that rich amber patchouli spice blend beautifully, delivering the same elegant yet slightly edgy character that makes Tuxedo so addictive. Performance is strong, with noticeable projection in the first couple of hours and a solid 6 to 7 hours of total longevity. It carries a classy masculine vibe that works perfectly for nights out, special occasions, or whenever you want to make a refined impression. If you love Tuxedo but want something that smells almost identical for a fraction of the price, Igwha is a fantastic choice.

A very direct clone of YSL Tuxedo and much better than even Rochas Moustache. This is sweeter and has the violet accord, within 10 mins they're identical unless you compare side by side. Longevity and projection is much better.

FIREEEE🔥 This is almost 1 to 1 to tuxedo, you don’t need owning the of when you can get this, hidden gem and one of the best from French avenue, I don’t know why ppl don’t talk about this bagger

I like it. Leans masculine scent. I get violet, amber and patchouli. Well mixed. Pleasant. Could be a signature scent.

I have 3 of these clones, Rochas Moustache, Fragrance World Suits and this one. As others pointed out, it's fairly smoothly blended, nothing sticks out (for a while at least), and longevity is good. HOWEVER, to me this one only does the Tuxedo thing (the peppery, slighlty boozy freshly ironed clothes feel) only for a short time (3-4 hours), then heavily leans into a sweet, sugary vanilla, which completly destroys the classiness this scent profile should have. This is more inline with how every new designer fragrance has to be these days: sweet and very vanillic, and I really don't like it. To me Rochas Moustache is the clear winner from the Tuxedo clones (I have), as it very heavily leans into the elegant part of the scent profile, and while it doesn't last forever it is neither overly sweet or vanillic. That said, if you like to smell of sweet vanilla all day, this might be the winner for you.

This is honestly so good I wanted to gatekeep but also need this to blow up already so it doesn't get discontinued. It's a 1:1 Tuxedo clone lasting 12+ hours on my skin (4 sprays, straight out of the box)... need I say more? I was scared it would be too synthetic but it's very well blended and not screechy at all. It projects pretty well too. I don't really care for boxes but the packaging feels luxurious and as for the bottle, it's quite heavy and not made from cheap materials at all. However I'd prefer the bottle and name were less arabic because I think this is the reason nobody talks about this fragrance as the presentation might be misleading and make people think it's an oriental perfume while there are no oriental notes in the scent so I don't really get it.

I have ysl tuxedo, Winsome and Ighwa Ighwa has alot of potency and intensity similar to OG I really like it It is bit pricy though and difficult to find I still like winsome it is cheaper and provides the vibe of OG
