Iris Patchouli

I have a decant of Iris Empire, and I will say that this does a fantastic recreation of that magic, but the projection is ramped back. The reason it is probably ramped back is probably because it's an Extrait, which tends to happen. Regardless, this is beautiful and a nice pickup for my collection. This seems to be hard to get currently, and I'm not sure what's up with all that considering that it was just released. If you like patchouli, powdery iris, and a dusting of chocolate, you'll love this one. This leans maybe slight more masculine, but a woman could rock this just as easily. 8.75 out of 10. - Beautiful

This smells like something I would smell in Jovoy, Les senteurs - or any other niche boutique. It’s a beautifully done iris musk with a silky suede note. It’s sweet and elegant - yet has that dark leathery touch - leans feminine to unisex. The iris is done so perfectly in this - it’s stunning. Soft projection but lasts ages. The presentation was also fantastic- elegant box and heavy heavyyy gorgeous bottle. All for £40 . Best bargain ever . Edit: I just realised this smells just like my boyfriend’s Raw Gold by Thomas de Monaco. He thought I was wearing his perfume! Bare in mind that fragrance is £245!

This is a truly beautiful fragrance. Very niche smelling and not your normal Iris experience. It wears in layers so there’s interesting fragrance nuances throughout the wear of Iris Patchouli. Soft, earthy (clean) patchouli is a gorgeous base along with gentle herbs, and delicate spices. An absolutely elegant blend and great pleasure to wear. Easy to catch every note in this blend, standouts being Iris, patchouli, a tea like Davana note and very soft suede. Benzoin adds a gentle vanilla sweetness as well. Definitely M/F. Kind of hard to find right now even though it’s a 2025 release. —Rosie Claire

This is amazing. I can see why people say it leans masculine, but it’s so well-balanced that it has enough sweetness to ensure that anyone can wear it. If applied very lightly, this would be the perfect power fragrance for job interviews. It’s green enough to wear outside. If applied normally, this becomes rich and incensey and very sexy. Not a safe blind buy unless you are confident with choosing fragrance notes. Beast mode, lasts for days. Honestly it very much feels like the wear time is broken into distinct seasons also. Love

I got on the hype train, and man I don't regret it. It is my first French Avenue fragrance, and I am surprised by their high quality. It starts with iris with powderiness added from violet. The iris here is similar to those found in Dior Homme Intense 2009 version - in fact I would even claim that this starts off like yesteryear's DHI. It is that chocolaty-creamy sweetness. That said, I consider this to be a sweet fragrance - "benzoin" here is more like vanilla to my nose with its woodiness.

The presentation is heavy with the box and bottle close to ≈1kg. The juice has some resembles to Raw Gold by TDM with less sweetness here. However, in the opening, I don't get any warm spicy or cinnamon notes. The dry down has chocolate, soft leather and resinous notes. It has good longevity, sillage and scent profile. Really enjoyable fragrance. I hope it will get stronger with time. I paid 50 bucks for this and it is one of the best French Avenue fragrances.

Wow this is just fantastic, best Arabian clone I've had since lattafa Angham. Its deep slightly sweet strong patchouli and iris fragrance. I'm so very very happy with this fragrance. I get alot of leather, smells like entering an expensive department store, with high end perfume, the smell of new clothes, makeup and fine leather shoes and hand bags, 10 /10

This is really special. I love how it changes throughout a day. Complex and beautiful Fragrance. I smell Iris first 3-4 hours...after that,for me, it just gets better. I found that Patchouli in the dry down 7-8 hours in, is very similar to Boss Bottled Absolu. Realistically 9/10 Becouse of the price, I give it 10/10

The composition highlights a refined iris note—smooth and dominant—distinct from the powdery texture found in DHI 2011. The scent profile is decidedly mature, characterized by high-performance sillage. It represents a disruptive value in the current market compared to established designer flankers.

The scent is so good, it’s smooth and captivating at the same time. I never knew that I could fall in love that much with iris, but I did with this perfume. It’s no doubt that I can wear it all day and be happy with its performance, not beast mode but elegantly shows.

One spray... I did one spray in the middle of my chest this morning before work at abo it 7am. It’s still going on deliciously at 1am. I feel like this has painted many pictures through the day. The woody first phase followed by the wet, green, leafy bit... lovely

Incredibly close to Iris Empire by CH (I own both), but goes in a slightly more leather forward way in the drydown in comparison. I am a huge fan of this dna and am very happy with this overall. Definitely smells significantly more expensive than what it is.

I'm so impressed with this. Absolutely beautiful iris scent. Stronger than the several designer iris fragrances I own. Hats off to French Avenue. It's so cheap for such a quality product...

I've had this for a few days and it has already changed. It's a very comforting, cozy feeling scent. I'm really enjoying it. Starts out a bit spicy and dries down more sweet and powdery.

This is beautifully intoxicating. Smells very niche and expensive. As a woman I don't find this too masculine leaning. Something I will always keep in my collection. 10/10

Iris Patchouli by French Avenue is a beautifully balanced and elegant fragrance that feels both refined and modern. Straighforward title. Smells exactly like iris and patchouli with a subtle fresly lined leather couch in the background a little later. Bit old, im afraid im not yet man enough to fully wear this. ionno what Ash92ab09 talking about because this stuff last and projects. same shit with liquid brun and vulcan feu, those stuff are decent in performance, even outperform some designer release on the market as we speak. you my friend, are either noseblinded by it or delivered a fake bottle (which is a thing now apparently).

This is smells heavily of make up and lipstick. It's very powdery as well. It's ok. I like it but there are similar scent profile fragrances I think are a bit easier to wear. Inekas Luna for instance by Zimaya. That fragrance I believe is inspired by Givenchy's Gentlemen Reserve Privée and Iris Patchouli I think is inspired by Carolina Herrera's Iris empire. Both are Iris forward and powdery but I find Iris Patchouli slightly more feminine leaning due to the strong make up lipstick-ish scent it gives off.

If you like iris, you need this. French Avenue continues to create these amazing fragrances. This is my favourite buy of 2025, hands down. Amazing silage and longevity. Develops as it wears but the iris always remains. Love love love. ❤️

Makeup-y iris opening. It's fresh, floral, and powdery. Then it transitions into a sweet/fruity(peach?), floral(violet), spicy(cinnamon), leathery(suede) and woody/earthy(patchouli) **The patchouli here isn't in-your-face; it just gives this woody/earthy smell. IMO, It leans feminine bc of the peach(or whatever is) note. I don't think most men will like it. Def for a matur(30+) wonan.

Iris Patchouli starts off with an oily spray of excellent quality. The bold iris is powdery, makeupy and slightly vintage. But its powerful opening lasts about 3 hours before it quiets down. All that’s left is a musky/amber skin scent. I thought I’d found a quality winner but it was just a wolf in sheep’s clothing. If you like the original (I haven’t smelt it) just get that.

Niche vibes, getting iris, and some green/tangy note (davana). I got the sample from a retailer, so not sure how far it has matured, but definitely will test again in a few months. For now am not getting heavy notes from leather, patchouli or olibanum. But I must say, this, even in its current state is worthy.

If u wanna smell like playdough and flowers then this is for you. Reminds me of Tom Fords F'ing Fabulous which i dont like due to the playdough smell. Maybe this will change after letting air get in and sit but for now ita definitely not worth the over hyped price.

The price is very high for what this scent provides. The opening is very harsh and synthetic. It’s more of a leather scent than Iris. Very little of the iris. IMHO, all these reviews are paid or fake because FA or FW pays for promotions from these so-called perfume influencers

It starts with pine and ends up as liquid brun

First off, this is NUCLEAR, on me anyway. I wore it today layered with a roll on oil, scented lotion, a body mist and another perfume and this is pretty much all I could smell all day. I've been out all day, it's been raining, I was sweating like mad in the queue for the post office then having to nip back into my third floor flat for my friend to use the toilet (annoyingly!), then I had to go to my IT course for two hours, then go shopping and finally back home and up six flights of stairs with no lift and it's STILL going strong. Very impressive. I'm very surprised nobody has said it reminds them of Glossier You. I suppose it's because You smells different on everyone but this is very, VERY, similar on me just much stronger. I prefer this but it's made me like Glossier You more than I did. I thought it was meh at first. It's very much a pencil shavings scent but I like it. I don't get much patchouli, despite the name, not cinnamon or anything else really. Mostly just Iris and pencils shavings. I'd have thought there was sandalwood in here. It's the leather though, my nose has mistaken leather for other things before. Jist had a look at the reviews of Iris Empire and yeah, I agree with everyone saying it smells like a makeup bag. I knew it reminded me of something other than just pencil shavings, it's the lipstick/pencil lip liner/powder scent that you get inside a makeup bag. It smells exactly like a lipstick I used to wear in highschool but I can't remember what it was. That's probably why I like it so much, nostalgia. It dries down to a ever so slightly sweet lipstick scent. The OG has chocolate so I wonder if it's in this too but just not listed. It's perfectly unisex. Rarely do I find that, I usually think things lean at least a little bit feminine or masculine. This works for both. My friend (not the one who made me go into my flat to use the toilet at the least convenient time!) who sent me a sample of it is sharing it with her boyfriend so that gives you an idea of how unisex it is. Me and her are usually absolute whores for marshmallow and anything sugary sweet but we both like this. I must like it more though, or she wouldn't be sharing it with her fella 🤣 I know she'll be reading this at some point and laughing coz she loves reading my reviews on here.

Initially, I was not impressed by this fragrance: the opening on my skin was like entering a pine forest, with davana overshadowing cinnamon completely. After 10 minutes, the middle and base notes appeared, but the prevailing sensation was of (slightly burnt) rubber, rather then leather. After 20 minutes or so, the notes settled in, even the sweetness of cinnamon with a hint of iris became more prominent. The burnt rubber smell was replaced with a smell of slightly sweet herbal syrup (patchouli, benzoin and olibanum). Funny enough that this should be named Iris Patchouli, when all the other notes seem more pronounced. However, the choice of the greenish “emerald“ stone on the bottle is spot on. The longevity is good, but nothing really impressive – considering this is an ExdP with 20-40% fragrance concentration. Projection... well, it really depends on how much you spray. On 2 sprays it's quite moderate and becomes intimate within a couple of hours. Which works for me; if you want it to be louder, spray some more. For sure, it will not remain unnoticed. This fragrance is definitely more appropriate for winter, perfect for a day spent outside, the image of mountains comes to mind; perhaps also colder spring and autumn evenings. It's definitely a specific scent, initially leaning more masculine, but after 30 min this becomes a more balanced, unisex fragrance and even slightly more feminine as the time passes by. So, give it time. Especially for the iris to kick in. I'm happy I ordered a sample of this first and not the whole bottle. For me this has more of an ambiance fragrance vibe - not something I would want to put on my skin (frequently). I might still use it on occasion, but 10 ml is quite enough for a lifetime.

After a while ive realised how fake this fragrance industry is. Ive tried so many good Middle Easter fragrance brands and i love brands like afnan, armaf, khadlaj, rayhaan and more but french avenue are one of the worst. You can immediately tell the hype their fragrances get online are mostly paid and manufactured. Everyone runs to social media at the same time so it makes it so obvious they are organising this. I have tried countless of different french avenue fragrances with different notes and in different categories of fragrances and NONE of their fragrances are long lasting. Literally none of them and the projection is awful compared to other brands. Ill give you an example. Both liquid brun and vulcan feu absolutely suck. You wont get more than 3-4 hours out of either of them. This fragrance is another over hyped fragrance by paid content creators that doesn’t last long and the scent is bang average. Ive reached the point now where i will not but anything from french avenue/ fragrance world

Didn’t like it. Way too strong and synthetic, in the air is much much better but up close it gave me a migraine. Similar DNA but much better smell is French avenue thunder with the elephant head, I wish the bottles were swapped because this bottle for iris patchouli is one of my all time favourites! So sick

Easily one of the best French Avenue perfumes, no cap.
