can we even call this a dupe at this point? luminous night was a limited edition mostly released for the middle east and now that it is discontinued the only way to get it is to pay outrageous ebay prices of 300 euro+. it's the replacement! ever since i had my sample of luminous night i fell in love with the unique presentation of dates and incense. it sparked within me an insatiable thirst to find a quality juice similar to it lol. look up dates + incense + amber on fragnatica, it's such a unexplored note combination. i know fragrance world released a dupe for LN already with a hilarious bootleg lookin bottle. didn't hear much good things about the scent aswell. i couldn't stand the shameless copying of the bottle so i skipped it. however this? to my surprise the presentation was so out there compared to many designer + niche fragrance costing over 150+. no joke. the outside box was a very big wood square. and then there was another box inside with difficult to remove felt paper covering a sturdy white wooden textured box. in layed with more blue felt on the inside where the fragrance sits. the bottle itself has an interesting glass shape and the cap is also wrapped in felt. it's hilariously big for how light it weights. it feels flimsy and not secure, do not trust it.. its a nightmare. i will give it props for actually trying to make it presentable this time! IT LOOKS LIKE A FUCKING OIL FILTER LOL ok now to the fragrance along side a sample of luminous nights. this exceeded my expectation. it is a much smoother much more based out version of luminous night. no im serious. i know ppl often say like ''ah this dupe is like 80-90% similar''. scrap that. it's literally an improved, smoother and based out version. here are the main differences side by side: - the opening is more pepper forwarded instead of balanced with bergamot. the basil/bergamot is still there. just a slightly more pepperd opening compared to LN. Its a preference difference. - once it settles a very prominent, smooth, almost buttery sweet date note shows up. combined with a much more easily to pick up hazy sage and a hint rosey/green geranium becoming a sort of ''soapy bubblegum'' accord for me. in LN the dates is obviously there too but theres much more of it here. even tho both are quite linear, lumiere garcon is the superior blend. - the main thing that sets it apart fully is the enhanced incense. its right there with the dates from start to finish. the base is obviously much more rounded compared to LN with a warmer sticky amber combined with an very middle eastern style incense smoke on top of a masculine textured sandalwood. there 100% is some unlisted tonka bean here cuz im getting a very almondy creaminess that's not present in LN. most likely put in there in effort for more base. i can tell right away this will last longer as i did 3 sprays on myself it wraps me around a nice inviting cozy scent blanket. this just has way more lift but its not like explosive... i had fears about it cuz thats often what the middle eastern dupes houses seem to aim for. this didn't do that, surprisingly effervescent with a better silage and better longevity. this is genuinely improved and screams quality. at this point i'd call it an original creation since LN is inaccessible for most people and the scent profile was already rare to begin with. even if you had the money, it'd be foolish to buy LN over this. I got it for nearly 50 + shipping in europe. just haven't found many stores that sell it yet. i hope this one gets the love and recognition it deserves. from just walking around the house with it, i already got my first genuine compliment from my sister. saying that ''i smell like a rich arabian business man'' lol my search for a middle eastern smokey dates scent has finally came to an end! peace out.

WOWZAS! Okay this stuff smells unique and amazing, and I have no idea what is going on with it lol. Never smelled luminous night, but this one is incredible. Not sure how the performance is going to be, but off the jump it smells like sweet incensie pencil shavings in a way that is so awesome I can't possibly describe it properly. I'll try to dive deeper at some point, but off the jump, I will tell you that this does get my mushroom stamp HUGE time, especially if you can find it for a good price, because as I understand, it is supposed to be a cheapie. Punching way over its weight, though, for the price it normally goes for right now. Even if you have to pay a little over normal, this stuff is a blind scoop for sure. A FEW HOURS LATER AND AFTER A LITTLE NAP: After my little nap (lol) I expected nothing on my arm as with almost every scent, which this was similar, but the remaining sweetness was ambery and not bubblegummy which is a GREAT sign with a cheaper fragrance, because some tend that way. As far as respraying after a shower and letting it develop, it is even more incredible than I thought originally. I guess the pencil shavings vibe I'm getting is the incense which is so smooth and works so nicely in this perfume. As it dries down, the fruit takes a back seat a little and it becomes a little more masculine, but it doesn't vanish all together. The incense comes up front, but it doesn't get out of control at all. This stuff is just so nicely balanced, and what a brilliant and beautiful smelling combination and composition. I hear it is more incense-heavy than Luminous, and I feel it is oh so slightly dominant, I don't think incense is overdone in the fragrance. The best comparison I can make is Gucci Intense Oud in the way it smells like pencil shavings, but GIO is distinctly dryer and floral in its composition, where LG is fruity (dates are the perfect choice) with an underlying sweetness that keeps it balanced and pleasant throughout. This is such an interesting one. I wouldn't say it's an outright no-go for the office or something, as long as you're careful about your sprays, but it is definitely composed with evening and dates (not the fruit) in mind. I recommend everyone just buy it lol (if you can spare 35 bucks for a gamble). When I bought it online last week, the only place I could find it was BestBrandsPerfume and I got their last 2, but today I looked to buy another couple bottles and it seems like it's everywhere suddenly for as low as like $35US on FragranceBuyCA. I would recommend everyone give it a shot, and at worst, you'll have a cool, unique banger on your hands to sample whenever you want. Consider it nose education. I'm buying a bunch because it's not really possible to go wrong at this price right now. One of the top 2 or 3 bang per buck fragrance buys I've ever seen in my life. Maybe number 1.

Wow! Almost exact clone of Luminous Night. I'm a big fan of the whole The One line and Luminous was the only one I wasn't able to get a full bottle of, but this is pretty much exactly the same as my decant. It obviously won't be for everyone, and I think you have to take reviews of (even minor ones) hyped fragrances with a grain of salt - a lot of people have never stepped outside of the designer realm, then see a YouTuber recommend something like this, blind buy it and are immediately disappointed because it's not fresh/blue/sweet. This is exactly as some others have described it. Lightly herbal with prominent basil and softer sage, unsweetened dates, a fair bit of incense on dry sandalwood (not creamy like in Santal 33 etc) sitting on top of The One DNA. It's legitimately great but obviously a niche fragrance with middle-eastern leaning - and dry sandalwood can be notoriously 'dusty' when you shove your nose into it, which probably puts other people off. Not every scent is meant to have your face pressed against it... If you do that with this or say, Overture Man, you're not experiencing the scent as other people do or even as you will throughout a wearing. Slightly an aside about the brand, but not enough people are talking about the bottle itself. It looked weird in photos but in real life it's beautiful. The design calls to several other brands (last generation Bulgari, Floraiku, etc) and the bottle is HEAVY glass - it feels like a piece of weaponry in your hand. I bought several FW and French Avenue releases back in 2021/2022 and their presentation has improved significantly since then. They've switched to metal instead of plastic and are using heavier, better quality glass. Even their dupe of Oajan feels *exactly* like the original PDM with the heavy metal bottle. I've also noticed the performance has improved, as they were once infamous for having scents that fade in under an hour. Really impressed. Finally, "maceration" is a weird myth that for some reason continues to be propagated in the fragrance community. What people are actually referring to is 'maturation', and it doesn't have nearly the effect that some people like to pretend it does. It's totally inexplicable why not one knowledgeable person has come forward to correct the terminology.

I haven't had the opportunity to get my nose on D&G's The One Luminous Night, so I purchased this as it's the first high quality direct attempt at a clone from French Avenue which is Fragrance World's premier line up. If this is indeed a close clone of the original, I can clearly see why they chose to name it Luminous Night, because the opening is exactly that! Vibrant, luminous, bright while still indeed being heavily sweetened by the date accord used. That's what makes this fragrance, and most likely the one that it is cloning, so very appealing to the masses. The little bit of bite from the herbal tones combined with the pepper make it feel almost effervescent upon application. But there's no confusing this as a fresher fragrance, and that's thanks to a base heavily anchored in amber accords, labdanum and resins along with the slight hint of roughness and the smoke toned hues that the incense gives it from early-mid to full-dry down. Overall this stuff is honestly Very high end designer/Elixir or even lower end niche both in the quality of the packaging and more importantly the quality of the juice!!! Any well known brand out there could release this in the $200 price range without any issues considering the quality, performance and profile of this particular fragrance, and I think I like what these Middle Eastern houses are doing for the market. I hope they continue to make it more competitive and bring quality and performance up to a higher standard. As a clone alone I can't comment as I haven't smelled the original, but if you want a very sexy, mass appealing and luminous night time oriented frag, then look no further!!!

So, I'll start this story with how in love I am with The One EDP from DG, but found the performance severely lacking, so my quest for a similar, sweet/ambery fragrance started. DG got REALLY close with The One Parfum but still thought something was missing. Now, I'm not going to say, "this is The One EDP but better" – I reckon this is more of a Middle Eastern twist on that fragrance. BUT OH BOY, THE AMBER NOTE ON THIS THING IS INTOXICATING. Even better than the OG IMHO. Think of it like this: The One EDP with a maxed out amber note due to the dates (it is NOT a standalone date note; its sole purpose is to amplify the amber) AND replace the tobacco with the smokiness from the incense. Oh man, am I loving this fragrance. The opening, as others have said, is kind of herbal/citrusy, but it immediately fades away, giving the spotlight to the stars of the show (the amber, dates, incense). This fragrance evokes a sense of "addictive calmness." Truly a captivating experience if you love amber-centered fragrances. Just a word of warning: you SHOULD NEVER smell this up close – like nostrils-skin close – because it WILL give you an awkward/funky smell. This fragrance is meant to be enjoyed in the air (at least 2cm from skin), a task at which it completely excels. If you do so, the experience is nothing short of divine.

I agree with @xavi627 below. As he said, this smells more refined. This is one of the rare cases where to my nose the dupe smells smoother, better blended, of higher quality, projects further and lasts longer. Quoting @fragrantlyenhanced below, "it's literally an improved, smoother and based out version." That's the perfect summary! Compared side by side, I opine Lumière Garçon is superior to Luminous Night and makes it smell like the dupe. Do what you want with this information! 🤓 It's not a 1:1 (no dupe ever is), but this to me smells more correct than the original, making it smell incomplete in comparison, like a beta version. It adds a slight sweetness to counteract the sourness of the original, and even has the smokey and ambery nuances, but they sit better in the composition. I guess Fragrance World wanted a chance at redemption after missing the mark with their first dupe, Moonlit Night, which I also have and don't enjoy. Man, what a comeback! Even the packaging is impressive. It's better quality and more elaborate than some $300 fragrances. When you unbox it, it's hard to comprehend how $50 got you that presentation and amazing fragrance. Lumière Garçon to me has been the best bang for buck fragrance purchase of 2024!

First time I sprayed this it had an unpleasant BO smell in the foreground and I thought I'd purchased a dud, but I gave it a few days and tried it again. No BO smell the second time, just dates, amber and bergamot with the other notes in the background, nicely balanced. My sample of the original One Luminous Night was long gone by the time I got this, so I didn't smell them side by side, but it smells to me like what I remember of the original--at a fraction of the current price. I would have loved a full bottle of the real thing, but I don't see the point in paying eBay prices for something that's going to cost even more to replace when it runs out. The box is okay and the bottle is pretty nice, but the cap is ridiculous. It's so oversized and light and cheap looking. I don't care about bottles or packaging, but I would have preferred a simple black plastic cap over the hilarious felt crap over plastic that it came with. But that's a small nitpick. It's not great by any means, but very nice if, like me, you enjoy the date note and haven't yet found a date fragrance that you really love. Scent 7, longevity 7, sillage 5.

I never had a chance to smell the luminous night. I heard really good things though and it looked like something I would enjoy. Additionally, I can’t speak to the performance or power of this fragrance. However, I just got mine and this is my first impression on the scent...I am really enjoying the scent profile. I’ve never really smelled dates in a fragrance before. To me it’s soft and sweet I enjoy the smokiness here a lot. I think this is for cooler weather. I would wear this fragrance to dinner or on a night out with friends perhaps. I see it more as a night time scent that you dress up a bit. It would be great if someone were within arms reach of you to catch this silage. Again, not sure how this performs completely but so far so good and for the price it’s a no brainer. With a lot of these limited releases they become really hard to find eventually and also way to pricey once they get discontinued. If this is a rendition of Luminous night and people say this is better blended I think I believe them. This is truly beautiful stuff and for the price I recommend you blind by. Nose Note #629 The note don't show the whole picture. This is just wonderful. To my nose this is very different from FA After Effect, very different. This is a distant cousin of DG The One. It doesn't smell like the most beautiful creation upclose, but the scent trail, oh man... This is a gem. This is not a dates-centered fragrance like Lattafa Ajwaa which is all about dates. Here the dates share the spotlight with amber and incense. Very long lasting, but sillage is average. Mildly sweet. Very sophisticated. Not sure how inoffensive it is. This is perhaps too strong and interesting to be inoffensive. "Too interesting" I mean people around you may be a little puzzled at trying what is it that they are smelling. I had a similar situation with Lattafa Bade al Oud - one person just couldn't sit still until he found out whether this was a perfume that he was smelling or something else. 8.25/10, it may be a little challenging for some, I assume

Never put my nose on the OG, However I can attest that this is a wonderful fragrance, heavy and suitable for date nights and special occasions. I have over 100 fragrances and I am sure I would reach for this on special occasions. It smells rich. Its a fragrance that begs the wearer to dress up. Not something to be used for casual jeans / T shirt attire. The Date accord give its a warm presence that would be suitable for colder nights in fall and winter, however it could be used in the spring as well. i used it twice till now and longevity and projection is average at best. I guess as with most mass produced middle eastern fragrances it needs time to sit and mature. I have experienced this over and over again with several middle eastern fragrances. I am sure that the performance would definitely get better with time. So I am gonna put this in my cupboard and let it sit and mature for several months and then give it a shot again

Love this one. It opens with a lot of pepper and a noticeable basil note on a semi-sweet fruity base with incense. The bergamot gives it a slightly airy touch. It's comes across as kind of mysterious and elegant. The pepper subsides in the dry down while the incense stands strong along with amber and date. This one isn't cloyingly sweet but presents a really smooth sophisticated accord that has an interesting mix of that date with some green notes and rich warm base elements. This one isn't for summer but will work great for the other 3 seasons. It's masculine leaning but I could see the right kind of confident and adventurous woman liking it too, particularly one who appreciates incense. Performance is very good, with 8+ hours of longevity and nice projection that is noticeable without overpowering. I've never smelled Luminous Night so I can't comment on their similarity, but this is a super scent.

Got this today, so I'm reviewing this currently, and will update as I go. What I did want to say, is that this is a great clone of Luminous Night by D&G, and probably comes in at about 90% close to the OG. I also have Art of Arabia III by Lattafa Perfumes, and people are saying that is closer to Luminous Night based upon what Reviewers have stated on YouTube, are having some wishful thinking... Art of Arabia III is more feminine, and brings in white florals, which I have a hard time rocking, and drives it away from the OG. It's not bad, and may be suitable for date night, but not a representation of the OG. If you're looking for the best clone on the market of Luminous Night by D&G, as that is almost impossible to find at anything under $200... I would say Lumière Garçon by Fragrance World will scratch that itch, and do it in a way that you won't miss the OG.

Incredible! So smooth i can't distinguish any of the notes of this perfume except that it's amber forward but they whole composition is just splendid. Absolutely worth it i wouldn't mind paying a hundred plus euro for this. Amber is the main accord and I find myself enjoying it much more than Grand Soir by MFK. The longevity and sillage are OK and not as good as the former but that doesn't really matter to me. I had it for 2 months and wasn't as impressed, the first time I applied it but i was wearing wulong cha over the day which was almost gone this evening and sprayed lumiere twice down my shirt and absolutely fell in love with it. Really delicious. After a little more time with it I find it more synthetic and too sweet. Although still not atrocious like some other designer scents. It's still well worth the price.

First day I got it I was disappointed because the bergamot note was overbearing and didn't sit well with the scent profile. Let it sit for 2 days and OMG this thing became my signature scent. A simple fruity spicy incense that makes you smell unique. As for performance I went out with a few sprays on into this chinese restaurant where the smell of the spices they were using controlled the air. After I sat down a few minutes later 2 random guys come up to my table and are like "what are you wearing you smell insane we can smell you from across the room". Bare in mind this is 1 week from me having opened the thing, so expect performance to grow even stronger in the upcoming months. Overall this fragrance did a complete 180 from me not liking it to becoming the most addicting scent in my collection! Well done FA.

Amazing date night scent. A more oriental and very smoky take on the D&G The One DNA. I have had it for over a year now and it took about 6 months for it to really blossom into something truly beautiful but on the bright side it is still getting better. The bottle design is absolutely atrocious as the cap is huge but doesn't stick in place if you pick it up. I would suggest storing it upside down to avoid accidentally picking it up by the cap and having it shatter on the floor. Longevity is about 10h while sillage is strong for the first hour and then becomes moderate until hour 7 when it turns into a skin scent.

Fragrance World is slowly becoming one of my favorite clone houses. I see some people complaining about the peppery opening but it really doesn't last that long and gets smoothed out by the bergamot as it transitions into the mid. Now this dry down is INCREDIBLE, its a slightly smokey sweet smell that immediately improves your mood as you get wafts of it. The longevity is great but if your looking for something with crazy silage then this isn't it. My atomizer is absolutely garbage though, I wonder if this is an issue with newer batches since I haven't seen anyone else mention it yet.

I originally had a decent of The One Luminous Night and I loved it but couldn't find it for under $300. I then tried had Moonlit Night but it didn't seem right to me and I ended up tossing it. So finally, with Lumiere Garcon, I found a very good version of The One Luminous Night. It is pretty close, maybe 90%, but most importantly it smells great. It has moderate projection and it lasts a few hours. It is spicy and unique and stands out. I will wear this day or night and mostly in cold weather but I wouldn't be opposed to wearing this on a cooler summer night. 10/10 for me.

I liked the profile of D&G Luminous Night, but sadly, that was discontinued. This gets you 95% of the way there for a price that is genuinely hard to believe. As I remember, Luminous night had slightly more 'lift' or a brightness to it that isn't as evident in this, but it's a very minor detail. The box is nice, the bottle and cap are premium in a way that far outstrips it's price tag (albeit too large for my fragrance shelf). As a collector of mainly niche frags, every now and then a dupe or designer comes along that will humble you. This was one such occasion.

I've never smelled D&G luminous night but if this is cloning it it was an amazing fragrance why would they discontinue it? This one is warm and sweet but not in a candy floss way but rather a natural earthy sweetness, I'm guessing it's the dates what does my amateur nose know though. It's got that middle Eastern vibe in the dry down you could swear there's a fresh clean oud there somewhere not fickle at all or maybe its the incense giving me that feeling, its a love for me!

I had luminous night, and royal night, and I sold both in a big sell off of over 100 frags. Luminous night, I never stopped regretting selling. I saw someone post on the luminous night reviews that this was a dupe. I bought it. It’s so close as to be the same. The sillage is a little low, but I remember the sillage and longevity being mediocre on luminous night too. This is Luminous Night, and it’s one of my all time favourites Update: silage and longevity very poor

Ripened dates packed with black pepper and other aromatics, slightly roasting above an incense pit. The incense gets stronger as it settles, and the amber feels more like ambroxan on my skin but it's still so good. Cooler months are best for this, needs just body heat. Lasts all day, very strong out of the bottle and in the first couple of hours, settles to just above arms' length. Definitely unisex, and a great dupe for D&G The One Luminous Night.

Wow this stuff smells absolutely glorious. The dryness working with the sweetness is magical. Projecting very nicely without being offensive. And this is from the first use, just after it arrived with me via the courier, while the bottle was still cold from being in transit. This will be pretty remarkable after some time. Bowled over, didn't anticipate it being this good.

I genuinely hate sweet fragrances because it's quite nauseating, but this just blew it out of the water. It's not overly sweet like Lattafa Khamrah. It has a unique calming effect that relaxes you down. It's a very intimate scent that really captures tender masculinity. Lasts quite long too especially on the skin which was quite a surprise. 9/10

I had to come back to my favorite cologne and leave this review. I recently smelled il padrino and this smells very close to a slightly sweeter version of that cologne. I have not smelled what this fragrance originally dupes which was d&g Luminous lights but il padrino is very close. This will be my all time cologne to use. 10/10

@regular39 Hey man, the basil note is still what it is as far ad I can remember it. (Not easy to live with) but I would say the Dates and Amber smells more prominent and sweeter. The dry down has become even better. So yes, I still feel like running away from Basil towards the other notes which is great all together.

I pulled the trigger on this yesterday and so far it is great. Smells very Arabic but in a good way. I do sense that it needs to mature after the first sprays so I will let this one sit for 3 months. Cant wait how it will smell after it matures. Very good and smells quality and designer level.

This fragrance is AMAZING! Lumière Garçon is perfectly balanced - spicy but not overwhelming, sweet but not sugary, and warm without being heavy. I love the unique combination of dates and incense, it creates a really intriguing scent that lasts all day. Definitely my new signature scent!

In my case and nose, the drydown of this scent gives definitely side effect vibes, without being very similar or redundant. It was a successful blind buy for me, I really like it. For 30/40$ its a real bargain given the quality/presentation. French avenue doesn't disappoint, again.

If you like DG the One EDP but it lacks performance you could try this one. It is spicer and denser (due to dates) version of it. I thought it would be almost stand alone fragrance but the original DNA is there very noticably. I really like it, 9/10

@riaan You'll be very pleased by how much this improves after a month or two of maturation. @mccree I wish Fragrance World sold this in extrait de parfum concentration because I would enjoy it more if it performed better.

The opening is dominated by the incense note, which I like but others might not. But give it a half hour or so and that sweet date accord mixed with amber comes out, and it becomes much smoother and more approachable.

Never smelled The One Luminous Night, but man I love this. Smells very unique. There is almost like a leather accord, but there is actually not. The bergamot pepper with basil is insane. ill be wearing this a lot.

Goes on as strong dates and incense, dries down to mostly amber after a few hours. Very balanced and lasts most of the day. It's a significant improvement over the predecessor, Moonlit Night, in every way.

This fragrance is a compliment magnet in winter time. Smells amazing. The date note are fantastic. Slightly peppery slightly sweet slightly boozy Long lasting. Recommend it.

This is well worth it for the bottle and presentation alone! Haven't tried Luminous Night by D&G but this one smells amazing and seems to be great quality. A steal at $25

To me this comes across as a mix of D&G The One LN and Initio's Side Effect. Very intoxicating scent, love it. Bottle looks like crap though..

Full disclosure: I've owned multiple bottles of Luminous Night, so I'm very familiar with the scent. I got a sample of this as a freebie with a bunch of other frags I ordered online from a decant seller. I was very aware of it's existence long before, after reading about the earlier FW iteration, and having tried both the FW and FA versions of Side Effect, I was skeptical (yes I know SE is very different from LN, but they are a similar style of fragrance). The first time I tried LG I was not overly impressed, especially with the opening, and I threw it in my box of random decants. A few months later, while going through the box (I like to circle back to decants every so often because my tastes tend to change over time) I saw LG and gave it another shot, this time on skin. The opening is bad, weird synthetic funk, but I could tell what they were going for. I left it alone for awhile and forgot about. about 20 minutes later I moved my arm around caught a sniff, and I was shocked. It smelled exactly like LN! I grabbed my bottle of LN and sprayed it on the other wrist and started comparing. They are stupid close. I don't think I could tell them apart once the dry down really starts. The opening is still bad many months later, but it's so close after that. It is close, that I sold all of bottles of LN. Performance is not quite as good as LN, but it's not far off and I could not justify keeping my LN because this is so cheap.

I am usually not a big proponent of clones, but this is so ridiculously close to Luminous Night and costs about 10% as much in current markets. The following statements are taking into account the fragrance fully oxygenated and matured. Performance matches or slightly surpasses the real deal. The scent profile is likely 95% accurate. The opening is a little rough for a few minutes, but after that it is extremely close to the original. It changes up just like the original too going from the heavy sweet dates and pepper to incense and amber. There is a bit of a strangeness in the opening that I also detected in the FW Side Effect dupes, it smells.oike some kind of weird synthetic booze note that feels so out of place. I am not one of those people that think Side Effect smells like Luminous Night either, that is not what I am implying. This is a really solid effort by Fragrance World (especially under the French Avenue label) and very impressive compared to some of their older offerings. I think they really started to hit their stride in 2024 with releases like this, Liquid Brun, Aether, Vulcan Feu, Platine Blanc, and Royal Blend and they continue to impress me. They still miss the mark sometimes, but they are definitely getting better.

I have the Luminous Night and I also have a decant of Lumiere Garcons. The LG smells only very little like LN to me, I would say maybe 40%. That other 60% is unpleasant to my nose. Maybe it needs to macerate or something, but it smells way off to me and almost like there is a cumin-esque body odor note in there (I found a similar note in the FW Side Effect dupes.) I would not recommend this one at all. Geraplys makes a much closer dupe of Luminous Night called I am King Nuit D'Orient that I would recommend much more highly than this. I have heard that LG is a lot better than the old Moonlit Night One and Only clone FW made, so I can't even imagine how bad that one must be. I would steer clear of this one. 5/10 is a generous score on my part.

Just got this, so no maceration. I mostly hear incense with unsweetened dates, maybe a little bit dusty when sniffed up close. Very short and fleeting fresh opening of basil and bergamot that dissappears almost instantly into the aforementioned notes. In the background, there are certainly warm woody and spicey notes. They are a little bit layered down, or, in other words, distant. However, they remain mostly clear and distinct, though the incensy quality could make it seem a little bit foggy. Overall, for me, this is a fragrance that will take some time to adjust to, but I feel like I'm going to love it in the end.

The basil and bergamot of the opening smell a little harsh for me. Not the best first impression. After about an hour, the scent settles into a more mellow, amber and incense scent, with a distinct and unique sweetness from the dates still coming through. The projection is still just as beastly. The dry down is pleasant but still carries this more bold and daring Middle Eastern perfumery vibe that may be challenging for some. Lumière Garçon/The One Luminous Night are different enough from The One EDP that I would recommend against blind buying this fragrance if you are looking for a better-performing The One.

Love the incense in this. Don't like the dates note as much, but it adds a well rounded bit of natural sweetness. Smells quite calming but also masculine. Inviting but mature. I even wear it to sleep sometimes, but thats not to say it's bland or sleep inducing, just calm. Definitely keeps that D&G the one DNA but makes it more interesting smelling. Smells alot fresher and imo better on clothes than on skin, but alot of the rich spicy warmth is lost on clothes. Great as a daily winter frag that isn't too sweet and obnoxious like SWY intensely. Also really nice, niche looking bottle. For me it's a 4/5.
