Miraj Absolu

I hope this is the only long review you'll need for this fragrance. This is the ever elusive clone of Layton exclusif and some how, I was able to grab a bottle of this in India. So back story, I tried a decant of Detour Noir, loved it and then sampled Layton and the Exclusif and loved them both. You're not missing out on a lot with Detour Noir if that's the only Layton DNA you can find. The Layton DNA is like apple, cinnamon pie. It's a masculine gourmand but it's a little more complex than that. Enter Layton Exclusif that adds a touch of old barbershop lavender and lots of woody and animalic musk in the form of civet, a very common genre from the 70-80s giving the Layton DNA a lot of depth, complexity and masculinity. The Oud accord (not note) is a little skanky and animalic as well. Not the easiest to appreciate when sprayed for the first time. Enter Miraj Absolute with it's weird looking bottle and absolutely unnecessary cupboard like presentation. This captures the Layton DNA very well but does not capture the Exclusif DNA like a 1-1 clone should which makes this the better purchase. It is woody and the musk is slightly animalic (civet) but the Oud accord is barely present. This makes it quite mature yet very wearable. So most people would say this is in between Layton and Layton Exclusif. But don't ever make the mistake of blind buying this just because you love Layton. The quality of ingredients and the blend is absolutely top notch for a clone fragrance which is why this fragrance sells as a premium. The performance is decent. Gives me about 4 hrs on skin and about 7-8 hrs on fabric so I do a skin + fabric spray routine. Projection was a little disappointing although an arm's length scent bubble for the first 3 hrs or so is not bad. Wearability is pretty good- three seasons barring summer both day and night although it works better at night. If you like Layton or it's clones and you're a fan of old animalic musk (although not as much in the Miraj) and woody accords, you'll definitely find this very enjoyable.

Such an amazing fragrance! I bought mine for around $33—yes, only $33. I don’t own Layton Exclusif, so I won’t compare and say it’s 80% similar, but I’ll describe it as a standalone product. It comes in luxurious packaging, something even some niche brands don’t offer. It’s a nice bonus, especially if you’re someone who keeps the packaging. The bottle design is more feminine, something a lady might want to add to her collection. But don’t be mistaken—it’s definitely a masculine scent, about 80% leaning in that direction. The initial blast is a bit alcohol-forward for the first 5 seconds, but it dissipates quickly and isn’t bothersome. After that, I get a spicy vanilla and floral-like scent, followed by a bright, fruity note of apple. Even though apple isn’t listed as a note, that’s what my nose interprets. I think the mandarin and bergamot give off that fruity vibe together. As it settles into the dry down, it becomes darker with warm, woody spices—a really beautiful scent. While Layton Exclusif may be a bit darker due to the higher quality ingredients, if it replicates 90% of the scent as some say, it’s still not a dark, overpowering fragrance that would be off-putting. The performance is really good. After the first spray, it lasted 7 hours, even on a rather hot day and after washing my hands several times. It lingered around, and I can tell it’ll improve with age. Middle Eastern fragrances like this tend to evolve nicely over time, so I plan to let it mature more. It should be perfect in about 1-2 months when the weather gets cooler, allowing it to develop further. In summary, this is an amazing blend. This brand is really showing its strength in terms of quality. The price-to-quality ratio is stunning. If you want to experience the essence of Layton Exclusif or just want a fragrance with a similar vibe, this will do the job beautifully.

Huh. Finally one that gets closer to being ‘virtually indistinguishable’. This absolutely SMOKES the Detour Noir Exclusif Nior version, and it’s not close. That one is more of a hybrid of Layton/Pegasus Exclusif. Not a bad stand-alone, but missing the finer points of Layton Exclusif specifically. Now, since getting this one and testing all four fragrances side-by-side (LE, detour, Miraj, and PE), I can say that this one is (to my nose) the closest and the best performing LE inspiration that I have come across. They differ a smidge in the opening, for about 30 seconds. Then they converge to the point that if you mixed up the test strips you’d be screwed and wouldn’t be able to easily tell them apart. The one area where the dupes fall short is in the 'civet' or animalic facets. None of them really do justice to that aspect of the OG, and it is probably the most important part of what distinguishes this from the pedestrian mall version of Layton.... So far, 6 hours or so seems to be the average. We’ll see in the Fall (when I’ll really be wearing it more) how it does. But for the $35 or $40 spent I’d say pretty darn satisfied. Edit to add: I noticed that this is a very oily fragrance similar to an extrait. I had best results when spraying from a slightly greater distance and making a broad sweep as opposed to a more concentrated area. helps with sillage considerably.

It's similar to the OG. A patchouli-dominated fragrance that has a pungent, slightly green note. The patchouli should be from Indonesia because of that character (pungent, a little earthy, a little green). For those who are new to the world of perfume; it's probably too spicy and strong and sharp and edgy fragrance; but for noses that have tested many scents, it is a potent perfume of patchouli scent and patchouli lovers like this perfume too much. I got rid of all of my Lauton-esque frags recently and have been sorely missing the DNA. I just found out about this fragrance last week and decided to take a gamble on it. I found a barely used bottle for a pretty compelling price. I just got it in tonight and put on a few sprays. I have to say that it's pretty great so far! It opens like Layton with an earthy patchouli note, almost like the one From YSL Tuxedo. Not exactly what I was expecting in the opening, but the drydown is fantastic! Beautiful notes of Oud, Leather, and some incense smoke, a tiny bit of rose. The quality is fantastic. Beautiful, sweet, dark, and earthy: these are a few of my favorite things! The longevity is solid at a 8-9 hours on skin and much longer on clothing. I believe most frags in my collection are unisex, this one however, definitely masculine. As for seasonality, I would only wear this in the fall or winter, you may be able to pull it off on a cool Spring night if you live in a cooler climate. I'm always open to trades and sales. Absolutely stunning. While the top notes seduce from the first moment, the heart and base notes create a background tone that gives it a more classic aura that becomes more evident as it dries down. For me, it has a unisex scent in the first few minutes (reminds me of Mugler's Angel when you first spray, being even more feminine), transforming chameleon-like into a very masculine fragrance as it dries down (more in the Nuit d'Issey style). That said, I think it's much more challenging for women to wear, as the evolution is completely towards the more classic and refined masculine style. For me, this is a great scent for men. Edit: The smell in the air depends a lot on how you apply it. To maintain that sweet opening that gives overall balance, don't spray too much or twice in the same area, or you'll immediately go into the second phase, as the supposed background tone immediately rises to the foreground (turning into an old-school fougere) and instead of compliments, you'll certainly get complaints. I have experienced both situations!

Like @Tonybee95 mentioned previously, this one was very difficult for me to chase down. It has actually been about a year, give or take a month or two, that I'd been looking regularly for Miraj Absolu, with no luck. I just started "collecting" last year, and, didn't know that what's available today might be gone FOREVER tomorrow, so, I had just assumed that it would be there, waiting for me, when I got back around to it. And, the other weird thing...from all descriptions, this one is an exceptionally well-regarded MEN'S fragrance, and yet, it is always listed as being a women's fragrance. I have been lucky enough to finally chase it down (literally, YESTERDAY), and, even then, Jomashop lists it as a women's fragrance. I had to take care that I wasn't purchasing the women's version of the men's fragrance that I had my heart set on. Well, should be arriving soon...next few days...so, hopefully, I'll have GREAT things to relate, once I've had opportunity to bask in this long-awaited acquisition 🙏🏿🤎

Nose Note #996 The Layton DNA is sort of guessable, but overall this is a very different thing. It has a lot of earthy patchouli, a little smokey. Smokey like the smokey Aventus batch. So imagine this batch of Aventus mixed with Layton and you'll get Exclusif. I have this on one hand and North Stag and Royal Paragon (two Layton dupes) on the other. Miraj is definately longer lasting. Sillage is similar in all. The vanilla from Layton is buried under a lot of smokey earth. The scent is similarly very dry. This is not a crowd-pleaser. It is a nice scent, but first of all it would fit a mature man better. Not exactly a daily driver, this is a formal occasion an evening out type of scent. If you like Layton, do not expect to like this too. Quality-wise it is nicely done. Overall the scent is one-dimensional. It does have a slight niche appeal. Men only. Long lasting, but not crazy. Sillage is not obnoxious. 8/10, it is lovely, but I wasn't blown away, just like I'm not amazed by the Layton DNA

Took me a while to get my hands on a bottle of this as its quite hard to find for some reason and perhaps thats why its not very popular.. also i dont know why this is under women’s perfume when its definitely a male fragrance. Anyway the opening here to me is somewhat harsh and kind of unpleasant at least for the first 30 minutes, it’s citrusy and floral with some woodines.. its fairly difficult to describe and theres a lot going on. Its not necessarily bad, i just find it a little harsh. However on the drydown this fragrance becomes heavenly to me! Its woody and vanilla, very masculine and very well balanced. I have not tried Layton exlclusif and therefore can’t compare. Performance wise this is so-so on my skin unfortunately. Longevity is average with around 6 hours with average projection, becomes somewhat of a skin scent after 2-3 hours. In my opinion this can definitely be used in summer nights as its not too cloying and not too strong.

Got this after waiting for the ridiculous asking price that came with the massive hype on social media platforms. Both this and liquid brun were being priced at frankly silly amounts. 90 gbp for Miraj and 76 for LB. Got it for 35 but I have to say that IF you were the type to refill old and used bottles, I doubt you’d get any complaints. Wonderful fragrance that I now prefer to Layton exclusive. I have 2 bottles as it seems it’s having a resurgence on insta and others who review. Using the one and only needing 4-5 sprays, I’m a heavy sprayer. Wonderful opening and superb drydown. The oud is not overpowering. A big compliment getter and one I’d highly recommend to any collector. French avenue are in form. Nice yet civilised vanilla with nice hints of cinnamon and I have a nice scent bubble that gets better as your body warms to it. For me a 10/10. I actually prefer this over LE. Signature worthy for sure

I have never smelled Layton/Leyton Exclusif, but if they smell anything like this, it's worth the price tag. Let alone £40! This is the best thing I've smelled since I first lay my nose on Aventus in 2016. In a way it reminds me of Aventus. The woods and oak moss are evident but not overpowering, then there's this slight sweet fruitiness, with a vanilla lingering in the back, enough to compliment, but not overpower, which i LOVE!!! It has a very dark scent (whatever that means to you) but i think of night time when I smell this, rooftop bar, breeze coming through on a cool summers evening - end of summer. 10/10. This has absolutely no business smelling like this. Definitely a night time scent.

I thought this fragrance was boring in the beginning..but oh boy was I wrong. Especially the difference between test strips and my own skin is night and day. Somewhat harsh opening, very peppery that gets sweeter over time. Godlike drydown, absolutely addicting smell. Sweet but in a masculine way. The longevity is there but I'm not sure about the sillage. This feels like a skin scent once it's dried down, you can probably smell it at an arms length but not much further. I'm surprised people don't think this is a summer fragrance with it's sweet, pepper and citrus notes. I would rather over spray than under spray this fragrance, if you're in an open environment. (4-6 sprays).

I own PDM Layton Exclusif and it's one of my favourite fragrances in my collection. I bought Miraj Absolu after seeing several reviews which were positive about how similar these compare to each other. I'm happy to say Miraj Absolu is very much in the same space as LE. Obviously the OG is better blended and the oud/dark notes shine through more but for £40 this is a bargain. I can wear this without worrying about running low of my Layton Exclusif. I've only owned for 2 weeks so I do think the performance will improve and get stronger. So far I get about 6 hours and 2 projection.

Just got this in today. Must say I'm not the biggest fan of the OG Layton. But I love this scent. I do get Layton a bit but its more of a combination of Layton and Amouage interlude Man and something more. You get a little of the smokiness but its blended well with the sweet layton dna. Its almost a fresh scent, with spices and a nice masculine smokiness. Good stuff. Looking forward to check again in a few months. Most middle eastern improve quite a bit in my experience. Performance currently is pretty good. Not beastmode, above average.

i got both layton and layton exclusif and got this today, all i can say is that this is increadble, its almost 1:1 of layton exclusif and nothing like the layton and im happy for that, the only down side is that the performance only compare to original is just a little less , not compare to the other perfumes, it can be overlooked due to its much lower price. after all this is an amazing clone and im so happy to have it and now i can save my original layton exclusif for use it only for special occasions :)))

This is not bad, though I don’t get the animalic facets in this (which i was looking forward to)...i was expecting dark oud🪵& civet🐾notes but was getting more of the vanilla🍦, rose🌹, pink pepper🌶& patchouli🌿with a hint of apple🍏 in the dry down For me this gave a vibe of an Al Haramain Detour Noir & YSL Tuxedo hybrid, i get both in the mid to the base notes It satisfies my curiosity about PDM’s Layton Exclusif & Al Haramain’s Detour Noir Exclusif Projection 8/10 Longevity 8.5/10 Scent 8.5/10

Accidentally I came across this fragrance online for 40 Euros and bought it based on the reviews here and a couple of Youtube videos and I must say that I'm very impressed! I've never smelled Layton Exclusif and honestly I don't care how close this exactly is, it just smells amazing and sexy and the performance seems on point as well. Will be interesting to see if this one gets even better over time, but for now it's a 9.5/10 for me.

You need to give this time to maturate. My husbands took 6-7 months for it to turn into his favorite cologne. It started way too cedar forward, but over time the notes have all balanced and that cedar has toned down. Its INCREDIBLE now!! Very sexy and not overly sweet like a lot of the modern perfumes. This is still modern and masculine- very sexy and acceptable in nearly all settings. A signature scent worthy fragrance.

Detour Noir Exclusif was good, but Miraj Absolu tops it in terms of juice quality, richer and slightly better performance. I like both a lot, using them interchangeably. Miraj Absolu also captures some of that animalic civet pheromone note while DNE does not have it at all. Which one to wear at any given time would depend on my mood, whether I want a bit of animalic note or not.

This is incredible. It’s a more versatile tamed down more wearable version of Layton Exclusif. It lands somewhere in the middle of Layton and LE. Longevity is above average. Projection is average. Fall through winter. This is fantastic. I normally recommend getting a sample before purchase, but at this price, go ahead and buy it. If you dig Layton and/or LE...you will like this.

I tried it side by side and in daily cycles with Layton Exclusif - its 100% as good as the original. Every facets of LE are here - apple, vanilla, some animalic touches in the middle - everything. Wery well rounded, easy to wear, instant compliments. Not easy to get right now also not very cheap (an the presentation is kind of funny) - but grab it if U can, very safe blind buy.

Fantastic clone of Layton Exclusif. A bit pricey and hard to find, but a superb inspiration and about 90% close to my nose. Great smell brand new, and I expect it to strengthen and improve with maceration. Definitely better than Detour Noir exclusif and Anaqeed. This will allow me to enjoy this fragrance more liberally and spare my OG LE for special occasions. 10/10 for me.

Edit 1: This is Layton Exclusif, dare i say 100% accurate? Maybe a tiny bit of the dark, animalistic nature of LE is toned down here, but that is probably a plus for most people. To the untrained nose or to the vast majority of people, this is the exact same fragrance and quality as LE in a different bottle. Gonna update on the performance when my bottle has sat for a while

I feel the need to add another voice to the chorus of "wow I can't believe the quality of this!" I waited forever to find this at a reasonable price. Incredible value for niche quality juice. A review below said this is linear, but to my nose, it's definitely not. It's complex, and I feel like its a shapeshifter that smells like a different fragrance every 20 minutes

Miraj actually has no right being THIS good. £30 for 100ml. I'll type it again. £30 for 100ml of fantasticness. Imagine Layton, Layton Exclusif and Pegasus Exclusif had a threesome. Then went on Maury Povich and no one had a clue who the father of the beautiful smelly bastard baby was. That's Miraj Absolu. Overpriced Niche....you are NOT the father. K Bye.

Man this stuff is fire and gold. Love the quality in this. What a winner 🏆 It is different if you use light sprays and apply one spray per body area. So don't double spray on one area. The base notes are more prominent if you do that. Which then makes it to dark and deep. Just light spray on your skin and you will be amazed at the experience. 9.5/10

Never sniff Layton exclusive but my nose tells me the dry down has same DNA to Penhaligon's Halftime Cedar but less intimidating and I prefer this dry down. Very Woody, I can smell slightly coffee and vanilla, so it's sweet but Woody. I can tell this is not for everyone, so never blind buy. But if you enjoy Woody scents like me, this is heaven.

Edit 2: It's been a couple of months since i received this. The performance hasn't gotten that much better yet. lasts maybe 5-6 hours on me with good projection in the first hour. People around me don't really seem to enjoy it. I enjoy the overall scent experience but a bit disappointed with the performance as of now.

It was already a big love for me, but I wore this bad boy to a Xmas diner and in a pub afterwards and I've never had so many compliments on one day. Even 7 hours after application a girl behind the bar told me that I smelled 'absolutely lovely'.

This is the best alternative you can get for Layton Exclusif,I have both, Miraj has the animalic aspect toned down... don’t over pay for this, end of the day is a clone fragance I don’t understand why ppl is selling this for £50+ 8,5/10

Let me just say this stuff is amazing 👏 I have a decant of the PDM its mimicking and I CANNOT tell a difference! It smells absolutely amazing and the quality is out of sight for a clone fragrance. If you like the PDM, grab this stuff!!

Wow this is nice. Just opened my bottle and sprayed one spray on my wrist. Can't wait to try it properly and to macerate it properly. Very muscaline. Fragantica fix your description this is not for woman only.

Layton Exclusif bottled in Fragrance World bottle. The only difference is in the potency of the civet, which is more pronounced in PDM. 99% similarity and 1:1 quality, no matter who it hurts.

A fresh, spicy, herbal and floral opening. Then the green aromatic and woody notes. This is a classy mens fragrance. I think it can be dressed up or casual for cooler weather. Love it.

Sampling the OG and directly comparing. Very close. This is brighter, fruitier, more mass appealing. This is more of a mix betwen Layton and Layton Exclussif. A banger.

This falls somewhere in between Layton and layton exclusif for me. This is more woody and dark than the original layton, but sweeter than the exclusif. 9.4/10 imo

It says it's for women, but it's completely a men's perfume. I loved this scent. I adored it.

I have a 93/100ml bottle with the box if anyone is interested in trading or buying. CONUS.

This fragrance is rich in ambery and has a hint of sweetness. It’s most suitable for winter and special occasions. Personally, I find it somewhat similar to other colognes I already own, so it’s not entirely surprising. I purchased it because of Gentscents’ recommendations, and everyone raved about its quality. However, I had to order it all the way from Canada, and when I finally tried it, it didn’t meet my already high expectations. It’s just another winter ambery fragrance; it’s pleasant, but nothing extraordinary. Do I like it? Yes. Would I wear it? Yes. How long does it last? About 6 hours. Did it blow me away? Not at all. Is it a safe blind purchase? No. Is it worth the price? No. Is it unique? Not to me. Overall rating: 7/10

Sadly Miraj Absolu was twice the price and unfortunately enough that I cannot differentiate my Miraj Absolu from my Anaqeed. Miraj Absolu is a modernized fougere. Do you remember JPG Le Male the origin? In which ultra western. In Miraj Absolu they add oriental vibes with resin and wood. And somehow still have that airy, ozonic, lite feels that fougere flowers can have.

Just bought a bottle and what a stunning box, many designers could learn a lot from French avenue. Great buy, bought my bottle for £45, and though it’s not as complexed as Layton exclusive. It may be easier to wear. The only disappointment for me, is I don’t get the vanilla note as in the Layton exclusive but maybe it needs time to mix. Also smells more powdery that the original

I like it. Very masculine. Extremely woody scent. Cooler weather and evenings out.

Edit: Two months later, never really wear this. Not that nice. Never smelled Layton Exclusive but this isn't a very nice fragrance. Niche smelling yes, pleasant to me not so much I only got this yesterday. Sprayed back of hand upon receipt and fully wearing today with PDM Layton (not Exclusive)(decant) sprayed on back of right hand. Layton is easier to wear with Miraj Absolu definitely having a more animalic woody oud vibe compared to the regular Layton which has more sweet apple undertones. When I smell these side by side Miraj Absolu gives me vibes as something like Aramis by Aramis that is when I smell the Layton and Miraj absolu side by side. I like Aramis every now and then by the way. Not saying Layton Exclusive Smells like Aramis. just that when I jump from the Miraj to Layton I get those vibes from Miraj. I have never got to smell Layton Exclusive so cant tell you if the Miraj is a good clone. I will say I quite like it initially. Also get a same vibe from something like Impact Intense by Tommy Hilfiger which I own which is nice too but is sweeter. They do the same job is what i am saying rather than 1 to 1. So the Miraj might be a little redundant to some people is all. I will come back with an update on Miraj in a month after it has sat in a closet for a bit. It’s stange if you give this a spay from a distance across your arm for example I think this is closer to Aramis that OG Layton after a few wears, but no idea of Layton Exclusive so if you want a cheaper alternative just buy Aramis for €20. But if you give this two dense sprays to each pulse point it’s a different sweeter fragrance that appeals to me far more. Still figuring this one out. I’m not sure about this as a fragrance. Because I’ve not smelled Layton exclusive I can’t say if it’s a good clone just that it doesn’t smell very nice. Just strange smell

I opened a membership just for this perfume, believe me, I don't understand why you exaggerate the perfume so much. The comments here are either fake or you have no idea about the perfume, this perfume filling is an ordinary perfume sold on the street, that's all. I should also add that I bought the perfume just for the positive comments here, just ordinary silage no permanence, no fragrance integrity or impressiveness.

This was a blind buy and I've also never tried Layton or Layton Exclusif. All I can smell on the dry down is a dominant powdery rose scent with the oakmoss in the background. I let it sit for a few weeks after it's initial sprays, but it hasn't improved for me. It's not suited to my skin unfortunately. This makes me smell like an old woman covered in a musky rose talc. Having said that, it projects extremely well and has great longevity. I think it leans heavily feminine.

Medicine, weird wood and medicine. No appeal whatsoever. This is what I get. I guess it's just not for me.
