What on the rocks/obsidian is: - fresh citrus of the top, with cinnamon in the mid and dry down. This is above all a freshy scent, with this cinnamon twist from the main line. - Perfect for cold and mid seasons, maybe even summer night, very Office friendly. Think of it like Channel Allure Edition Blanche, make it less violent on the lemon, remove the "meringue" part and replace it with the cinnamon. - This is a discreet scent, not made to last long or to leave a big trail. It inspires tenderness, someone approachable who likes his perfume lemony but in a cosy way, not a sporty one. I just received it last weekend and rocked it for a couple of days. I tried it against a sample of the OG Kilian Share on the Rocks to remain objective. All tests were done both on paper strip and skin. Conclusion: Obsidian is almost a 1:1 with Angel Share on the Rocks until late in the dry down and skin scent. Personally I can live with it given the price difference, but here are the main differences: - On top note: the OG is a more zingy citrus, close to what lime is. Obsidian remains at lemon level - When dries down: the OG remains a natural scent, fresh and lemony. The Obisidian is very close to that, but it is like a tone down version, which feels slightly more synthetic/matured lemon. To give you a concrete idea of the scent between the OG and Obsidian, it would be comparing a freshly cut lemon (OG) with one that has matured couple of weeks (Obsidian). - The difference increases over time, since the Obsidian really has the cinnamon (and a bit of apple) progressively taking over the lemon when the OG stays focus on the lemon with hints of cinnamon until if fully disappear. This is where most people like connaisseur will tell the difference between the two. - Obsidian propagation/trail is stronger than the OG, and this includes lasting longer as a skin scent - People around you will smell it during the first 2-3 hours, then they will have to be near you. Skin scent itself last on me about 8 hours. This is not one of this scent you will smell on your body the next day when you wake up.

(disclaimer: i have no idea what the original smells like so this is solely based on the fragrance itself) not only is the presentation on the bottle and box insanely high quality for the $50-60 price range on this especially for an extrait too, it already delivers in that aspect but the scent is amazing, i genuinely don't know how there are so many tiktok hyped french avenues and yet this one has flown under the radar but honestly to most owners benefits because if people knew the quality and scent profile of this it would be another one of those immediately sold out dupes it opens up with a blast of that grapefruit, not much of the bergamot to my nose but the aldehydes make it so fresh almost like, watery-ish but in the best way possible, but as it settles down it comes to this more warm, boozy scent from the myrrh, and the touch of sweetness from that mix with the vanilla as well, not overly gourmand like the typical angel share dna is described, a nice balance of warmth and freshness all around this fragrance is easily the most versatile in my collection with that development from freshness to warmth, it's an easy to reach, non-offensive nor nuclear sillage/projection which some may desire since french avenue is known for that (liquid brun, nero in my collection are powerhouses) but this is more subtle in comparison, not to discredit it though it still pushes off for a good 2-3 hours and becomes a skin scent for 5-6 in my experience with it (i've had this one for about 2 months so maceration is pretty far in) but again for the price, what i use it for in those dumb reach times to go out to the store, going out with friends for a bit, errands, etc. it's good at what it does if you're looking for those beastmode fragrances or overly gourmand boozy scents this isn't it, but for a versatile daily, signature scent even, dumb reach yeah this one is amazing. French Avenue rarely to me miss and specificaly when we are talking about angel share dna if one is familliar with their target On the rocks seeing just the pyramid already solds what is it going to be so to start : This fragrance opens with a bright, citrusy-fresh and clean profile to my nose the clean aspect is the dominant then we change roles after like 5-10minutes were citrus and orange became the star talking about the star the orange is clearly the most noticable , bringing a juicy and elegant freshness. As it dries down, it becomes softly boozy and slightly sweet while keeping that clean citrusy character. The balance is very well executed they truly nailed it i can see the angel share Dna creeping out when it dries down the question is how close to original am sorry but i tried it only one time and that is like 4 months ago so am not sure but for what it is sure i directly connected it to that so really close enough. The sillage is noticeable and pleasant, not overpowering. It leaves a smooth and elegant scent trail that feels refined when i asked my familly about it . Longevity on my skin is around 6 hours without the need to always go to skin to find it when i move around i get some bits and whifs , then it settles into a subtle skin scent for 8–9 hours. Overall, a versatile and well-crafted fragrance this is suited for daily use professional meeting (dont overspray if you have a professional meeting 3-4 max max ) also i saw say paradis is more suited for night outs i see no probelme using this or og in night out its not a party fragrance or anything but more casual meeting a date with the wife will work to be honnest . the bottle and packaging are top tier honnestly. at the end is it a safe blind buy ? i would say go for it it doesnt brake the bank the scent isnt a wow what is this ? but great refreshing and nice with elegant aspects thank you for your time reading this i hope it helps out.

Currently, I'm obsessed with this fragrance. After letting it mature and trying it again, it absolutely blew me away with how much it had changed. Even though it's not a perfect dupe, it is very good on its own. It has an addicting grapefruit opening that I adore, it isn't sweet in an obnoxious way like a lot of other cheap fragrances. The aldehydes give it an icy aroma that adds to refreshing nature of the fragrance. Once the fragrance has settled, it evolves into a sort of amber-y, powdery, sweet smell that is lifted by the citruses. My nose is very sensitive to tonka bean and I definitely get a powdery, almond like smell in the heart and base. This is where I would say it differs from Angel's Share OTR: it doesn't quite have that boozy sweetness that is iconic to the Angel's Share line. In fact, there is no booziness that I can detect and what replaces it is a much calmer, amber sweetness. To me, I prefer this, it's about 80% there and definitely has the same vibe. But if you're looking for a replica of Angel's Share OTR, with the same depth and booziness, I'd wait for Riiffs Veloce to release and look at reviews for that instead. The presentation and the bottle are beautiful, not too over the top but undeniably unique. The atomizer is good, and I think the fragrance is light enough to where you can overspray a bit if you want. IMO it's versatile enough to be used in any season, day or night. It is also perfectly unisex and layerable. I'd say this is a pretty safe buy, if you like fragrances that are built around a vanilla-tonka base or if you like citrus and particularly grapefruit.

Nose Note #954 Just lovely lovely lovely. The best way to describe it would probably be this - imagine Royal Blend Sequoia, but lighter and with sugary-sweet grapefruit instead of raspberry. So in a way it does land well into the Angel's Share flanker line. Similarly sweet, but this time citrus dominant, soapy and altogether a rather fresh scent! I'd say you can easily wear this all year round. And very unisex too. I can't say it's masculine leaning at all. My wife really liked this. I don't know what's not to like about it. Stunning presentation too, as always with French Avenue. Maybe if you don't like sweet scents then that's a miss. You can also think about it as an interpretation of Bvlgari Tygar, but sweeter and with less ambroxan, perhaps. It keeps reminding me of Ex Nihilo Hedonist, maybe even the sweeter Extrait version. Performance-wise it's quite good. I consider this a fresh scent and for a freshie this is pretty strong. Nothing crazy, but if you apply a lot then you definately get a good result. 8.5/10, a spiritual successor to both Royal Blend Sequoia and Tygar
