Ravine Ginger

#1765 in my “Tour de Fragrance” This arrived today. I promised it to a girlfriend. I should have kept my mouth shut. Dead on the money clone of Goldfield & Banks “Ingenious Ginger” I paid $54 for this. The Goldfield & Banks runs $148. Identical quality. Nice summer scent, but you could wear it year round, round the clock, any setting. Good longevity, arm’s length silage. Very attractive. I shared it with six people, all fragrance aficionados. Four “Wows”, one “Damn!” One “OMFG!” One individual liked it slightly better than Kilian “Blue Moon Ginger Dash” he owns. All six preferred it to Issey Miyake “Sel D”Issey” even though all liked the Miyake also. For myself I slightly prefer the minty Kilian, but I’d wear “Ravine Ginger” all day every day. Unless for some inexplicable reason the girlfriend dislikes it and gives it back I am definitely ordering a bottle for myself tomorrow. But she loved the Goldfield & banks sprayette I gave her last week, so more likely I’ll win the Lotto than she doesn’t like this stuff. : ( Good Luck and Good Hunting!

This and Hawas Thunder are 2 of my favourite pickups of 2026. Both feature a spicy ginger accord and both are very easy to wear. I tried a decant before buying Ravine Ginger and couldn't stop wearing it. The scent accords listed are accurate and the reviews left by others are too. Rough ginger with sharp citrus when first applied, and a gentle vanilla that pushes through immediately after. It's not as appreciated by wife as MA Immortel (more woods), MA Philos Messenger (sweeter), or RB Theoreme (more grapefruit), but it is more pleasing for ME to wear. I love the ginger note and wish it stuck around more. I can still smell this at the end of the work day and at is base I get vanilla and vetiver. For starting out my day, this is incredible.

Haven’t tried the OG. I did not trust the opening on this one simply cause it smelled a bit flat and dusty (?). Almost like something dirty. But wow. The drydown has me obsessed... it’s sweet ginger for the first hour and then it transforms into a gorgeous smooth sandalwood on my skin. Absolute perfection, genderless, affordable, nice bottle. And lasts so long! I used it before bed, on a showered skin without moisturiser and I woke up after solid 9 hours of sleep still smelling it. I’ll upgrade my decant soon I fear 🫶🏻!

Beautiful freshness with a bit of ginger spice, compared to Ingenious Ginger it's overall less fizzy. Dries down to a strong creamy vanilla with a bit of ginger in the background; overall it's not as ethereal as Ingenious Ginger, not sure how to describe it, but you can't complain for it being roughly 4x cheaper ($50 AUD for me vs $280 AUD for Ingenious Ginger)

Loved the scent dna but very weak longevity on skin (it lasts longer on clothes) and sillage is very intimate. Very close to skin and virtually no trail scent, no projection. Wish it was stronger (not asking for beast mode but at least moderate performance) as I really liked the blend.

It's a really good scent, especially for the summer. It's open's up with a very citrusy and gingery scent. After that you get more spices and mosr vanilla.

Love Ingenious and have used it multiple times (sample) and this is a very close match up. id say this is more sweet than fresh

I love it. Unisex. Great for warmer days. Citrus, ginger dominant that has vanilla undertone.

Arguably better than ingenious ginger

Nose Note #1002 Imagine Tygar, but different. This grapefruit+ginger accord is very similar. It definitely has less ambroxan, but this mainstream ambroxan allure is still there. The composition altogether is made slightly sweeter and altogether more feminine, or more unisex. This can definitely work on women. When I think about the sweetness here there's a subtle cookie quality about it, a cookie with chocolate. Besides that I find it hard to describe the scent in detail. It's slightly soapy, very subtly spicy. It's not very evocative of anything besides the citrus accord. Unisex. Not a beast, but confidently stronger than moderate. Stronger than, for example, Jean Lowe Immortal that I've reviewed just now prior to Ginger Ravine. 7.7/10, it's a good scent, but I didn't expect it to be that similar to the Tygar DNA. I wasn't blown away

I'm relatively new to the ins and outs of fragrances, and have no experience with Ingenious Ginger - but I knew I needed something fresh for spring and summer, and I don't care so much for stringent lemon or ocean scents that seem to dominate. I opted for this because I love ginger and have a modest budget, and it was a solid blind buy. The initial spray is ginger-forward and eases into something like a sweet ginger candy (or, and I mean this in a good way, like flat ginger ale). The vanilla becomes more prominent in the drydown until it's the dominant remaining scent. Longevity isn't great, but a single extra spritz solves the issue nicely 5 hours in. Not complex, but a lovely sweet ginger that suits me for the coming warm months. I also ordered Aristo - I'm curious to see how they compare.

It opens with a very citrusy, spicy, and luminous ginger, extremely natural, which as it dries down becomes increasingly more vanillic and slightly powdery, without losing focus on the ginger. Performance was quite satisfying. I did just one spray on my wrist and it lasted well, around 6 to 8 hours, with moderate to strong projection in the first hour. It stays noticeable both on the skin and in the air for a good amount of time. I haven’t tried the original Ingenious Ginger, but from this interpretation, I felt like its DNA is a mix of Tygar by Bvlgari and Ani by Nishane. A more effervescent, citrusy spicy ginger opening that evolves into a more vanillic, powdery ginger in the drydown, very good. 8.5/10

Like others have mentioned ginger ravine doesn’t open up the same as ingenious ginger, that fizzy bright opening is not there instead it’s a darker mix of ginger and citrus with some florals. The opening doesn’t last that long though before it dries down to heavy white florals, ginger and vanilla. The dry down does get pretty close to IG and the longevity is not great but nor is the originals so they are about the same. If you’re looking for a clone of IG this gets it about 80% there it’s just the opening which is the best part is not even close. For me I’d give it a 7/10 but hopefully it macerates over time and gets better.

Definitely a bit of a letdown when I first got it. I blind bought it right after hearing that there is finally a good dupe of Ingenious Ginger on the market. Ingenious Ginger is my favorite freshie of all time, so this one definitely had some big shoes to fill. This fragrance feels a lot sweeter, more floral, and the amber definitely feels stronger to me compared to the original, and the opening lacks the fizziness I love so much about Ingenious Ginger. I'm still pleased with the smell, though the performance really isn't as good as I was expecting. Still a 7/10 for me though.

Very nice fragrance. The ginger and citruses are mostly present on the opening or on clothes. On the skin, it quickly fades into vanilla with a dryer woody ginger. I personally quickly go nose blind from it but from my friends I’d say that the projection is moderate. And longevity is good, better on clothes tho. Cons are it’s a bit too sweet and can come as unisex. I’d still say that it’s cool for the summer since it’s not that strong.

Solid clone of Ingenious ginger from Goldfield & Banks. Opens up citrusy and spicy, dries down to a creamy/floral, citrusy, spicy, slightly sweet vanilla scent. Citrusy, fresh scent with a sweet backbone. Quality is very good. Worth trying.

Personally, this smells like ingenious ginger but darker, without that fizzy kind of vibe and toned down a lot. For the price this is absolute fantastic fragrance, also note that the longevity sadly isn't the greatest.

Nice fizzy ginger ale smell, it's just so very faint, doesn't last or project. The bottle is fully plastic and imo very ugly LOL. i'd give it like a flat 8/10 just because it's a French Avneue and i love their blends.
