Ripple

Not sure why there is such a lack of reviewing on this - must have fallen off the radar. Here’s my two piece... I don’t own YSL Y Elixir but I have smelt it in store and to my memory, this is far more airy than that DNA which is quite thick and woody. I do own YSL Y EDP and this is not similar to that - if anything this is much cooler. Less sweet and fboy, more aromatics. I don’t get the comparisons to Invictus Parfums at all hear. The best way I can describe wearing this is like a spiced, sparkling water with a hint of tart (not sweet like most) bergamot citrus and a cucumber water feel. Spoilers, it’s VERY nice for my taste. Longevity and projection are moderate, and I think that’s fair enough for this DNA and infact it does well for what it is - not going to offend, gives a really clean revitalising feel when you wear it. It’s going to be perfect for when it gets really hot. No compliments yet, but I’ve worn it loads out and about so not surprising. Have owned for a good month of on off wear and haven’t experienced a huge change up over that time. I’d say if you are looking for an inexpensive, super fresh sparkling water type feel with a fresh air/washing outside on the outside washing line feel - this is a no brainer for the price. Also smells pretty different and no one you meet will be wearing it, given it seems no one gaf about it hence no reviews lol. Pleased and overall I’d give it a solid 8/10. Looses marks on performance not being a bomb, but otherwise well balanced, well made and class presentation. Go heavy on those sprays (like 10-15) and you’ll be happy.

Nose Note #983 I don't know about Y Elixir, but it is similar to Fakhar Platin, but I didn't like Fakhar Platin at first a year ago, neither do I like it now. Ripple is much much MUCH better than Fakhar Platin. This is the smell of Schwepps!!! Literally Schwepps! Gin tonic-like, but not in the style of Torino 21. This is purely a bitter orange peel scent (or maybe bergamot peel?) with a lot of bubbles. I don't get anything besides the smell of Schwepps. I'm not reading lavender or sea water. The notes don't paint the picture at all. Very fresh. Not a typical citrus scent at all. I've had nothing that comes close to this. It can totally work for any occasion any season. One of those scent that if you just need 1 perfume you can stop at this one. Dumb reach, but a very sophisticated and unique one. This is just amazing. One of those very rare occasions I was blown away the first second and thought - I want a full bottle (I always buy decants first). Men only. Quite strong! Not a beast, but you can overspray it freely. For a fresh scent this is definately an achievement. Great longevity for a fresh scent. 10/10, honestly, there's nothing I don't like about it. I've worn it for 4 days straight, so here are my first impressions: To my nose and on my skin, Ripple is highly similar to its inspiration (Y L'Elixir), from the opening to the dry down. I'd say it's over 90% similar, being a dupe focused entirely on copying the original, without any kind of "twist" or original touch whatsoever. In regards to the performance, I think it's still too soon to make a final judgment, but considering only the first impressions in these 4 days of wear, I had the feeling that it's slightly softer and less dense: while the original is strong, Ripple is almost as strong. However, I'll let it mature for at least a month to see if it outperforms the original before making a final statement. It's already clear that Ripple is a must for anyone who fell in love with the original like I did. It basically eliminates the need to own the original. Congratulations to French Avenue and perfumer Jordi Fernandez for the faithful and highly competent "cloning" of Y L'Elixir. Based on my first impressions, I give it a 10/10.

French Avenue Ripple was a pleasant surprise and shot straight to the top of my recent pickups. It opens with a fresh aromatic blend of bergamot, lavender, and sage that immediately gives it that clean, modern vibe. As it settles, you get subtle aquatic notes layered with cedar and sandalwood, keeping things smooth and refined. In the drydown, incense and amber come through, adding a light smoky warmth without ever getting heavy. It’s very similar to YSL Y Elixir, but instead of that slightly harsh oud edge, this leans into a smoother, woodier profile with just a touch of smoke. Performance has been solid so far with moderate to strong projection for the first few hours and around 8 hours of longevity. Overall, I’m really impressed. This is staying in the collection.

This one is great. Close to YSL Elixir with that piercing blue, aldehydic, soapy /shower gel freshness. It also reminds me a little of the discontinued YSL Y Le Parfum. It's clean, aromatic, fresh and modern smelling. A simple, unpretentious fragrance that smells good!

One of the few middle eastern perfumes that its really good from the start. That bergamot mixed with the incense at the start makes it really fresh and intriguing . Very solid perfume and great value

Ripple Another Day Another Fragrance by French Avenue (aka Fragrance World So, what is Ripple? Ripple is a fresh blue fragrance 500% safe to use and to blind buy. It’s the type of scent that you can wear to the office, the gym, or for a walk in the park. Nothing eye-catching, nothing that really jumps out and punches your nose. When I first got it, I couldn’t smell anything literaly anything. I swear I was kinda dissapointed. I even wanted to return it. But I had some work to do, so I left it for a week or so and completely forgot about it. When I saw it again, I thought,“Oh, you’re still here.” I picked it up and tried it... and honnestly i got the suprised face, where did that scent come from? It smells like blue shower gel, a bit salty. Lavender is present like in almost every fragrance of this style , honestly. There’s also some smokey nature but I say “some” because I didn’t really pick up much of it. On my friend, though, the smoky musky character is more noticeable. I guess it reacts differently depending on the skin. So I ended up gifting the fragrance to him According to him: “It’s a calm, elegant, fresh fragrance the dry down is more interesting to my nose” He mainly uses it for the office and when he goes jogging in the park. For him, performance is around 6 hours with 8 sprays, and the sillage is acceptable for the first 2 hours, then it settles into more of a skin scent. 7.75/10 — Not bad, French Avenue. I hope you focus more on summer releases and create unique mashups, not just typical blue fragrances.

Got my sample from Misty mountain decants. So far this has the extreme likeness and similarities to laundry detergent. But not like YSL myself laundry detergent. To be completely honest when I'm smelling this on my arm and even on the dry down it just straight up smells like very strong laundry detergent. It's not unpleasant but it's not exactly the profile I'm going for. It's more musky than I thought for a blue fragrance but it is in the blue category for sure. I'll give it a little bit more time but this isn't for me as it has a very strong resemblance in my opinion to the laundry detergent aisle in a department store. Again not unpleasant but not the refined blue fragrance I was hoping it would be.

Here is my honest review for fragrantica: Ripples a very interesting fragrance. Once I learned it is a YSL elixir clone I was very interested because I've never smelled elixir. But I did just recently smell YSL Absolu at the store and I really liked it! I'll also mentioned that I liked it a lot more then YSL Le Parfum. Anyways Ripple opens up with a bang, very strong and over-powering (almost). It smells great on my first impression. Super clean fresh fragrance. But it also smells a little basic to me. A bit overdone? It has this typical DNA that's not groundbreaking or new. It's very sweet, and on the darker/heavier side of a aquatic floral fragrance. I can literally smell every single noted listed on the notes. It's like they are all fighting for first place... not in the best way. I think the fragrance would benefit a LOT from some additional time maturing. Reminds me a little of a really nice aftershave smell. I really wish there was more uummf or complexity to this. Performance it just makes it to average quality. Doesn't project for too long honestly although it does cling to the clothes pretty well. Becomes a skin scent after 1.5 hours depending on how many sprays you use. Easy to wear. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Top notes are Lavender, Bergamot and Sage; Middle notes are Marine notes, Sea water, Sandalwood and Cedarwood; Base notes are Incense, Amber and Musk Rating: Subjective Scent score: 7.8/10 Performance: 7/10 Overall score: 7.35/10 Conclusion: I wanted Ripple to be more then what it is, and that's my fault lol. It's a good fragrance, it really is. But for me it's not worth it. And remember this is just my subjective opinion, and for you it might be the perfect fragrance. I always say try it before you buy it, whether it's a good review or a bad review. It's inoffensive, typical blue, floral freshie with a little added depth. Smells good, just a little more on the basic side of things. At this point I'm looking for more interesting and peculiar fragrances. Maybe as it matures a little more things could look better for Ripple, let's see how time affects it.

Opening smells like fabouloso to me. Fakhar Platin also smelled like urinal tabs. However, on the dry down of ripple that chemical smell went away, and it dried down into the classic YSL Y DNA, which I was impressed with. Performance is what you’d expect from a fresh fragrance, so not bad at all. If this improves after maturation despite being a winner out of the box, I’ll be even more pleased.

A nice fresh blue scent, similar to Y Elixir but not a direct clone. Starts of fresh and aromatic, bergamot is prominent, with sime aquatic nuances. In the dry down, I get musk, incense, some woods and lavander. Offers the same level of versatilty as Dylan Blue, and Profumo due to citrus, aquatic and incense notes.

Smells nothing like ysl whatsoever (my opinion) and I have every ysl doggone near lol BUT I will say it’s a very pleasant scent and it reminds me of lagerfield photo......have to be old school to know about that one. I like it. And I blind bought it

Just go and try Omanluxury Overdose so you can detect the similarities. This is toned down and bearable sage version of omanluxury overdose. If anybody agrees please like this comment. Btw I tried a decant and im gonna buy full bottle.

Sadly this to me smells like a generic blue showergel with an incensy drydown, one of the least interesting ones to be precise. Not for me
