Sultan The Conqueror

This fragrance is absolutely stunning, I'm shocked it isn't rated higher than it's current rating of 4.08 (only 12 votes tbf). It opens with soft and perfectly sweetened, woody oud and amber combo, in a similar fashion to how Gucci Oud Intense is, yet a different fragrance altogether. I'd describe this as a sweet and woody oud and amber combination with a clean musk aspect to it. Honestly one of my favourites right off the bat, I'll have to get a backup to this. It projects well and lasts, but the good projection only lasts for a good hour or two before becoming a skin scent. I'd say the initial projection is 7/10. Having smelled and owned over 200+ perfumes over the last few years, it is surprising that this is an instant favourite of mine and a top 10 or top 20 smell ever in my personal opinion. I have both the founder and the conqueror. I actually think the conqueror projects more than the founder. They both last about the same amount of time. I've had them both a week and I think the conqueror has got louder and the founder has stayed the same. They're both fantastic.

A spicy leather fragrance for sure. Above average projection and above average longevity. I get quite a bit of cumin, amber, oud, leather and maybe some cinnamon. 8.5/10. Don't let the votes fool you. Sillage is above average. Lasts 8 to 9 hours on skin.

Nose Note #910 It's similar to Chopard Black Incense Malaki, but it has a different opening. I'm comparing them side by side right now. I like Chopard's opening much much better, it has a very oily creamy leather accord. Sultan's opening just smells worse, messy, sort of leathery, but altogether undecypherable and dark. I mean, they are miles away from each other. The direction is similar and if you don't compare them side by side Sultan definately reminds you of this trend of Black Incense Malaki and Guilty Absolute, but it's just done not in such a beautiful way as aforementioned (I have both). I also have Lattafa Areeq Silver and Areeq is much darker and leathery. This is indeed like a mix between Black Incense Malaki and Halfeti. Halfeti also smells messy, sweet, sort of Christmas-like. My verdict: 50% Black Incense Malaki and 50% Halfeti. Definately for men. Strong, but not crazy. Mediocre sillage 7/10, I'm not impressed. An OK scent. Not a substitue for Black Incense Malaki or Guilty Abs, not even close

I have all 3 conquerer, Carlisle and black Malaki. Conquerer is the closest to black Malaki which is one of my favorite colognes and is a staple in my rotation. Conquerer is about 80% to black malaki and lacks the other 20% due to quality and direction. You can get black Malaki for 70$ so this just doesn't make sense to me. I do however like that the leather isn't as prominent in this one but the quality just isn't there. Edit: Lately I'm thinking more and more it's a lot like halfeti mixed with black incense malaki.
