French Connection Woman/Femme

Femme by French Connection is a sweet citrusy floral that sits at a really affordable price point - it’s currently available for $10 AUD for 30mls/$20 AUD for 60mls here in Australia. Admittedly, I do have a bit of a soft spot for niche fragrances, but I’m definitely not one to turn my nose up at a more ‘common’ fragrance, especially if I enjoy the scent and it’s available for a steal! The initial spray gives off a bit of a sharp blast of sweetness, but this quickly settles into a more rounded floral-fruity bouquet. My mum (who also loves her fragrances but is a bit of a novice, bless her) commented - “That’s actually not bad for a cheapy.” Hehe. I noticed on the French Connection website that they list lime granita as one of the top notes, and that’s probably the one that stands out the most for me. Sillage is mild to moderate. I wouldn’t call it intimate, nor would I call it enormous, as there’s definitely some projection, but it’s not overly strong. Longevity is somewhat lacking though. Having said that, it’s cheap enough to reapply, so I’m not too bothered. Overall a great everyday scent to take you from the office to running errands to catching up with friends.

I have no idea how this smells so much like Alien in its cashmere midnote, when there's no cashmere in this. That's what had me so curious about French Connection. This could hands down be an Alien flanker of some sort. The opening isn't the most pleasant to me, but it's still okay. Fresh, a tad spicy, and not sweet. Then it gets warmer and a bit sweeter, and is quite cozy in the drydown (like alien but less strength and not as sweet in the amber). It smells sophisticated and well put-together. Office safe but spray lightly!!! It's still quite a strong one to me, though it doesnt last more than 4 hours. I'd say suitable for all types of weather except the hottest humid summer days. The description of French Connection says something about the simplicity of a white shirt <-- think that. Minimal but sophisticated and a bit timeless. Also, I think this is discontinued now. Edit: so the opening is actually just like Alien Flora Futura, but better of course. I really don't like Flora Futura.

Nice, soft, fresh floral. Great office scent for spring/summer/autumn. It's very feminine. A bit too safe for me personally, but a well-made fragrance nonetheless

Can we please add the new perfumes to the database there are at least 5 new here in Australia for this brand. I have asked this a few times very strange.

Opens up smelling just like body shop mandarin soap, after about five minutes becomes Alien!

Why does fragrantica refuse to put the 4 new perfumes on here? It is very frustrating.
