Friction for Her

Fluffy-Creamy Vanilla-Coconut & White-Floral with Piña Colada & Sunscreen Accents... I came back to this one after a long while and it's so much stronger & lovelier than it was. The performance has really improved, and the notes seem better blended and fuller & creamier. It's fairly linear, but I'll do my best to describe what I get. On opening, there's a fluffy vanilla-coconut blended with white-floral & musk. The white-florals here have fluffy, creamy & powdery facets, with faint sunscreen tones in the background. There's a fruity accent here that's listed as red-berries, but I get something close to pineapple. For me the sandalwood, amber, vetiver & woodsy notes function like base notes to support and sustain the fluffy coconut-vanilla & white-floral. After a half hour or so, the caramel accord (listed in main accords) brings a rum vibe, and altogether I get something near a Piña Colada, but this is sweeter, and I imagine something more like a fluffy vanilla cupcake with shredded pineapple baked in, and topped with buttercream icing dipped in coconut (in other words a Piña Colada cupcake). Contrast to Coconut Hibiscus Bodycology: These are different, but the scent profile is similar to Coconut Hibiscus Bodycology, although this is fluffier, creamier and more vanillic. Contrast to Yara Lattafa: Again these are different, and Yara is thicker with the lactonics and leans strawberry. However, there's a similar vibe once this has aged, with fluffy creaminess and fruit & sunscreen accents. Yara outperforms. Performance is now average or slightly above average, and the projection is better than what it's rated, although it requires dark storage after the first sprays. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

@Nataliemarie you may just have a bad batch or need a new bottle. You can find this fragrance for under $10 usually. I've owned like 13 bottles of this fragrance I love it and works so incredibly with my skin chemistry people say it smells like a sweet coconuty Pina colada of sorts with out the alcohol 🍸 but having owned so many bottles I can tell you I have had 2 bottles I bought one second hand and one from retailer and they did NOT smell right at all one I remember smelled sharp missing the sweet spun sugar and creamy milky coconut. The other one had this strange plastic or like artificial smell it reminded me of when something is in a plastic baggie too long it starts to absorb the taste of the plastic baggie like a cookie being in a baggie starts to taste like plastic ...thats what the smell reminded me of...I obviously pitched both and got another bottle used second hand and it was that delicious sweet creamy milky coconuty cocktail scent that I love!...just mind your bottles guys! I don't think this perfumes shelf life is very long unless stored very particular. But being this perfume is cheap not having a long shelf life is so worth the smell. The bottle I'm on now I've had over a year and I purchased it second hand. I got kinda burnt out of coconut for a bit so haven't reached for it...usually it would be used up by now. My fragrances are all on a shelving unit in my closet (no windows nor steam) and this bottle is perfectly fine I just sprayed it to check lol. So if you not getting the delicious smell it maybe your bottle has gone bad...

I am so-so pleased with this one! This is exactly what I was looking for: a nice summery scent. To my nose, it smells like vanilla, pineapple and coconut. Pina Colada goodness! I found my summer signature! Update: Now that I have been wearing this for a while, combined with its lotion and on its own as well, I have to say, this fragrance is far more nuanced than I initially thought. I thought it was just a feel-good scent, sweet and girly - and yes it is all that. BUT. I don't know if I'm imagining this, but I swear, lately, in the dry-down stages (4 hours+), especially when wearing the fragrance with its own lotion underneath, I smell much more complexity. The sweetness is very much toned down by this point and the base notes come out to play: lovely rich woods, peppery vetiver and smooth amber - all blending seemlessly into a very feminine and elegant scent. Yes, the fragrance isn't loud by this point, but if a lover were to lean close to you, they could definitely pick up on it. This a happy and sweet scent that turns into something much darker and richer with time. Sort of like a person dropping there facade; at first it makes you believe that it is sweet and simple, but then you find out that they are captivating, and intriguing mix of light (amber, vanilla) and shadow (vetiver, brazilian rosewood); masculine and feminine. I definitely don't regret buying this one. So much intrigue, well concealed!

Warm, soft, sweet vanillary coconut. If that's something you enjoy, THIS is a flawless execution and a gamechanger at the price. On my skin, this opens similar to the bottle: just honeysuckle and coconut. The honeysuckle dominates, but it fades fairly quickly. Once it clears, this perfume is all about the sweetened cream of coconut with vanilla. From the woody notes, the most prominent on me is the sandalwood, it addd depth to the fragrance and keeps it from being an a run-of-the-mill edible gourmand. It is soft and feminine and warm. Straightforward, yet complex. It has the oddest sillage. It lasts on me a good 24 hours, which is amazing on its own, but on top of that, it "builds" on the skin, and so the more I wear it, the more the coconutty base clings to me. I've never encountered this kind of sillage on a cheap fragrance. The projection, though, is very soft. Definitely a hug fragrance. Considering warm scents can become cloying when they fill a hot room, this fragrance is great for summer days at the office. I've worn it to bed too, and it is quite sexy. So cozy, and comforting. I'm currently obsessed with this for the summer.

For $15 (AUD) you really can’t go wrong. It doesn’t last long but I guess that comes in the price - I layer it with The Body Shop’s Vanilla or coconut both make the scent much more yummy and lactonic + really helps the staying power. The scent itself is lovely and inoffensive. Very Pina Colada with the Pineapple note shining through from first spray to Drydown, the coconut leans the furthest in the back for me with the florals coming through strong with the pineapple. Good all round scent I like this one for work or after training/gym - very summery and fresh while still sweet. It leans towards a younger audience but I feel any age can wear this as well. Over all a safe blind buy if you like pineapple, tropical and beach scents - it gives me summer vacation vibes reminiscent of eating a coconut ice cream with lots of pineapple syrup at a resort pool or beach. Best for summer but definitely would work year round. The only con I really get from this is it shows up a little herby on my skin but it’s pretty over powered by the pineapple and florals - staying power is not too much of a problem when considering the price.

This fragrance is stunning! It is, as others have suggested, Pina Colada! It also to me, says "Golden Beachy Goddess". As it wears, it becomes more complex. It is one heck of a journey this perfume, and I am so glad I gave it a chance. Friction for Her opens with a blast of Pineapple lollies on me (think Allen's Pinapples if you're from Australia). Not sure why... (perhaps the honeysuckle & apple blossom) but I'll take it. Less than half an hour or so the creaminess gets more intense and is more noticeably the "Pina Colada" scent. By the end of the day, as the fragrance wears, it seems to develop into a much more complex scent as I mentioned previously. Deeper, richer, almost unisex? I enjoy every layer of this fragrance as it wears but, it is the ending that really is the star of the show for me. It is a fragrance you need to be patient with to get to the end results, but it is so worth the wait in my opinion. For the price of this fragrance, I would say please just try it & give it a go, you can even layer it. Longevity: moderate/long lasting Sillage: moderate Recommend: Heck yes.

Came here to add let this macerate / sit for a while!! Like Suzzane_ronalds comment down below this becomes much more creamy, lactonic and lovely. I finally get the coconut milk with the pineapple taking the back seat, with the spin sugar adding an airy sweetness. The longevity and silliage also improves now lasting a good 5-6 hours with good projection - prior to this it would disappear so quickly and was so acidic and pineapple first. I’ve found it almost smells almost exactly like good girl blush after letting it sit just a little difference in quality but I don’t think many would notice. Same creamy vanilla base with a citrus top note, Friction also gives more of a fresh pina colada on the beach vibe while Good Girl Blush gives gelato/sorbet while shopping high end boutiques on the boardwalk. If you love tropical, creamy fragrances definitely get your hands on this and leave it to sit it’s so affordable.

I bought this while Christmas shopping as a little treat to myself, because it was on offer for £10. I figured that, even if I hated it, it was worth a shot. It is a delicious scent! It actually smells very similar to Sol Cheirosa '62 (remember that?) except I believe it has better staying power. The notes that stand out to me are coconut, vanilla, sugar and apple blossom. It smells sweet and feminine, but fresh and clean. It's definitely a daytime scent, and probably lends itself best to summer months, but I am wearing it in December and still enjoying it. It is a delicate (and very edible-smelling) gourmand and so sits close to the skin, but I can still smell it on me after four hours of wear. I also still get compliments on it after four hours, so the the scent must last at least that long! Such a safe blind buy given its price. I'm very glad I gave it a go.

When first sprayed I got a blast of fresh pineapple 🍍, even though it's not listed, followed by a candy smell (like hi chew) . Then a creamy coconut 🥥(fresh coconut milk) with freshness and a sweet sugary berry musk that lingers. (Sweetened Tropical fruit mix with coconut milk) Pina colada, not really. I used to work at a country club and serve Pina colada every summer and I really can't stand the smell of it. But this is different. It's a nice summer day fragrance for almost the price of a bbw fragrance mist(really ridiculous). And that's how I use it because it doesn't last 3 hours on me. But not too many fragrances last in this heat and humidity. The fragrance comes off sweeter on my skin and more fresh on my clothes. I think it's a good cheapy fragrance for summer.

Absolutely eviscerates many of the much higher priced perfumes I've purchased for my wife, Friction is the real deal as a warm to hot day or night fragrance. To me, there are a few moments right out of the bottle that lead you to believe the fragrance could journey into hot, sweet mess territory, but they fade quickly, and I find this one so extremely sexy on the drydown. True, it is a very subtle drydown, but we deal with some serious heat and humidity and I appreciate the light, breezy, yet still quite feminine qualities of Friction. Just the right amount of allure! I think it's extremely well done, and highly recommend this bargain bin gem...best wishes to all.

I was looking for a perfume that smells like BBW Tiki Beach Candle since they don’t make it in a body mist. This smells so much like it! I’m so happy!! Is a sweet creamy coconut reminiscent of conditioner or lotion. Honestly it’s nostalgic, it reminds me of some of my favorite memories. It might be too basic for some people and doesn’t last longer than 3-4 hours, but for $16 I don’t might reapplying. To me I find it so relaxing and beautiful! Could wear this to bed or on vacation🌴 If you want a fresh creamy vanilla coconut scent, this is for you. 🥥 ☺️ I live in tropical climate and I will definitely be using this one frequently!

It's such a beautiful milky coconut and vanilla scent that settles down to this absolutely stunning florally coconutty vanilla mixture. Lasts longer than I expected and for only €13 it's such a bargain (its 100ml) so this is a definite buy in my book, and it's also a safe blind buy (Edit) (2023) Currently on my 3rd bottle, I love this perfume and I never get sick of it. (Edit) (2024) Just bought my 4th bottle, it's definitely my summer signature scent. I will say, spray it as soon as you get it out of the box and then let sit for a week or two, then you will get that beautiful milky coconut and pina colada scent.

I just opened the box and I looove the bottle! First sniff and I know I can't use this perfume now cause it's winter BUT I will absolutely wear this in the summer months, it's very fresh and sweet on my skin, I can smell the vanilla and a bit of coconut, the musk is there and the honeysuckle too.. it's not strong though very light, you can wear it at 8 in the morning and noone will tell you it's too much(as they usually tell me and my "heavy perfumes" 😬). After about half hour the amber makes it’s appearance and it's perfect! And let's not forget the price 🤑it's super affordable 😎

I want to eat this perfume! LOL. This smells just like a warm, rich, coconut cookie. Even though it is a true gourmand, I do not find this synthetically sweet or cloying at all. It smells like a creamy, custardy, coconut vanilla cookie with custard and sweetened toasted coconut flakes. I mainly get the coconut, spun sugar (but not burnt sugar like what you get in Aquolina Pink Sugar), vanilla, amber, jasmine, and a hint of vetiver and sandalwood if you really search for it. I love this....gor-geous! Haven't given it a wear test yet but am in love already! 9.5/10 for me!

Yay!! They finally made a page for this on fragrantica! I bought this impulsively at Ross, because I liked the packaging, and it was discounted, and omg I'm so glad I did! It is sooo yummy! It is vanilla, coconut, pineapple, amber, musk. The scent is predominantly vanilla, but NOT the sugary sweet vanilla you usually find in lotions and perfumes. It is a dark, sexy, sensuous vanilla. Almost rummy, too. Beautiful, sensual, feminine. I love it... the one knock against it is sillage, or rather lack thereof! It lasts quite a while, but it's pretty close to the skin.

Yummy! I am not a gourmand lover but this one does in fact feel like pina colada ! First spray, I thought pineapple! Strange it’s not listed. I get way more pineapple than coconut. It’s not my typical summer scent. I usually wear florals, citrus and green scents, but this one seems to me like a perfect vacation fragrance ! If you live somewhere tropical or even southern states, I say this would be a fabulous affordable gem for every day. I’ll probably keep it to vacations personally ! But this is great!

This is truly delectable. And I'm not even a gourmand fan (although I think I am becoming more that way inclined)! My only complaint is that I can literally only smell it for mere minutes; it is that weak on me with virtually no sillage. A shame! Other than that, it's not only supremely pretty and one of the only creamy fragrances that I can tolerate in summer, but it also brings back poignant memories of one of my life's most beautiful chapters ever. <3

Pineapple comes through the first spray. Then coconut but its very fruity, nothing like sunblock more like... pina colada vibes, its sweet but it does have some woody elements and some amber after 2 hrs of dry down. Some vanila comes through but no berries for me, just pineapple but its a very nice tarty juice pineapple with some sugar, coconut , wood, amber and vanilla. Daytime fragance, silliage is moderate to intimate and its for summer fall.

I’ve been wearing this almost every day so far this summer. I love it. It’s sweet without being sickly or overpowering. The apple manages to keep it fresh and light. The coconut is subtle but there and undeniably yummy. I get compliments every time I wear this. It’s pretty amazing considering it’s so inexpensive. This was a blind buy for me and I’d say it’s a safe blind buy, especially at this price. It also layers really well. 100% recommend!

This is my second review & I still love it very much but just a warning, make sure you use up your bottle because no matter how you store it, it will turn in a few months once it's opened. Away from light & heat, I've tried everything. I'm on to my 3rd bottle & what I've learned is don't save it for later, use it often & enjoy it before it turns because it's incredible while it's still fresh.
