Brown Sugar

Fresh Brown Sugar, Fresh Sugar Lemon, and Fresh Sugar are all sweet and very lemony scents. Is the lemon in each of them the same? ABSOLUTELY NOT. You would think that Fresh's lemon note would be consistent across the line, while the notes around the lemon changed according to each scent. Strangely, the difference between each of these lemons is huge. I did a side by side comparison of all three in order to eliminate any confusion (I was confused), since the names are so similar. Here's what I found out: Brown Sugar- A glorious natural refreshing lemonade scent. This lemon is awesome. It is so pleasant and comforting, I want to drink it or dump it over my head. How do you think my hair got so light? Sugar Lemon- UGH!! totally revolting. I cannot believe Fresh thought this smelled okay, considering they also made Brown Sugar. Smells like lemon dish detergent. Bitter and depressing if somewhat nostalgic. No Thanks! Fresh Sugar- Like a cross between Brown Sugar and Sugar Lemon. Not nearly as pleasant as Brown Sugar, but in no way as chemical smelling as Sugar Lemon. There's no reason to opt for Fresh Sugar if Brown Sugar is also available. For me, Brown Sugar is unquestionably the best of the three, and very FB worthy.

You don't understand the existential crisis I experienced when I asked for this fragrance from the same duty-free store in the same airport I bought it from years later just to get looks of confusion and weirded out from the store assistants as they told me that this perfume does not exist, and they only have Sugar Lychee. It is, without a doubt, my first love in a glass. Though I broke the container long ago, I still salvage the remaining liquid and put it in a small spray container. ever since I discovered it's discontinued, I have refused to use it until today. It's sweet and fresh, it is giving unapologetically graceful and effortlessly charismatic. This perfume radiates the vibes of people who know how to find joy in the simplest things in life and in everything they do. it's so unique I couldn't find anything like it on the market.

I tried Brown Sugar on a whim and was expecting a generic sweet fragrance. I was however pleasantly surprised by the soft yet distinctive lemon note in this as well as the caramel that arise in the dry-down. Fresh Brown Sugar is a beautiful, linear scent that is very refreshing. On me, this fragrance is surprisingly long lasting, about 8 hours. It gets closer to the skin after 5 hours, and stay put even on hot sweaty day. This is my go to fragrance for very hot summer days, when I know I will do physical work or simply after the shower at night because this is soft and nice. I own a rollerball but once empty I will definitively get the full bottle.

Nice to know I am not the only one who misses this fragrance dearly. The only memory I have, I am 27 now- I must have had it when I was around 17/18 years old- is that I never wanted to run out of it. I purchased this with my hard earned money and all I know is I loved it and have never found anything quite like it since. It tickled something inside of me- the kind of perfume you hold up to your nose to smell all day long. It was comforting- Unique, young, clean, fruity in the freshest way- that is all I remember, and I hope someday to find a dupe or maybe they will bring it back :(

This is such a gorgeous scent! It is a grown up sugary citrus burst of goodness. The silage is great, around 5-6 hours. This is one of my favorite fragrances as it’s so uplifting and refreshing, it’s also amazing to spray in the morning to wake you up. To me it smells exactly like a freshly squeezed lemonade with a heap of sugar. It’s such a great fragrance for anyone that loves fresh citrus scents and has a sweet tooth! Highly recommend:)

This is a lovely fragrance, however I would not have thought for a minute that this is a unisex smell. To me, this reminds me of lemon custard when first sprayed which then dries down to smell like a caramel pie. First I put on body shop vanilla oil then a layer of brown sugar perfume on top. I have had surplus amounts of comments on how i smell good enough to eat when i combine these two.

I love this scent. This is one of my go to every day scents for casual days or casual dates. I've gotten compliments from a couple guys I have dated that like it on me. I love the lemony sugar caramel goodness that this scent is. When first sprayed I smell tons of lemon but 20 mins later the lemon has calmed down and it's more caramel and so very yummy.

Love at first sniff. I have finally found my signature scent for life! The only fragrance that does not end up smelling like chemicals on my skin. Does not aggravate my allergies. Very subtle but I can still smell the yummy caramel and a hint of berry/lemon. This is not harsh at all.

I am not generally a fan of fruity and/or citrus perfumes, but this beauty is lemony like a magnolia grandiflora blossom is lemony. Cleanly floral without being too sweet, and its base ends up almost musky on me. Have worn if for years, and hope it will be made for years to come.

Love this!! This is my after a hot shower and climb in to bed scent. A bit expensive for what it is. But I only wear it after a shower.

Sugar caramel and berries is what this is. Cloyingly sweet.

I am a fan of Fresh Hesperides and Fresh Pomegranate Anise. But like some other reviewers, I find Fresh Sugar Lemon chemically revolting. After reading positive reviews here I decided to give Fresh Brown Sugar a tentative blind buy try off of eBay. What a pleasant surprise!! I am fond of citrus scents as well as caramel gourmandes. But, I tend to avoid lemon scents, which often skew Pine-Solish to my nose. Others smell to me like lemon drops taste and that is not my thing. Fresh Brown Sugar, however, nicely blends a truly refreshing fizzy pick me up lemon with a warm caramel base that I can't stop sniffing. It's perfect as an everyday scent when I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for, and is also a remarkably versatile layering scent. Thank you oh Fragranticians for another fantastic recommendation!

Delicious! Brown Sugar opens with soft and sweet citrus, and is quickly warmed up by the caramel-amber base. The sweet, fresh honeysuckle is a lovely presence in this as well. The citrus is not really of the sparkling, fresh variety. I agree with the previous reviewer who likened it to lemon custard. It is quite soft and comforting. The caramel is delicious in this - it's softly sweet, warm and sticky like real caramel. But it's not at all cloying. A must-try for gourmand lovers. The only disappointment with this is the lasting power. It barely lasted on my skin 2 hours, so it is one that would have to be re-applied often. opening: a slightly sweet lemon bomb. The opening IMO smells like those little hand wipes you get in a little packet at a bbq restaurant. Super bright opening. It sorta reminds me of lemon drop candy. Lemony fresh. Dry down: Mostly sweet hint of lemon. Pleasant. It turns into a skin scent within 10 minutes. So ya....opening is burst of lemon and slightly sweet. Dry down is mostly sugary sweet with a hint of lemon. I wish I could pick up more complexity than that but I don't really have a sophisticated sensitive nose. Just interchange between lemon and sweet. Its a nice, casual, fresh, just throw something on and go kinda frag. Unless you are around someone you really hates lemon I promise no one with be mad at you for wearing this.

This simple little creation is rather lovely. Somehow - this is like a first real fragrance for little girls - in a very positive sense - cute, sweet and lovable. At first there is a blast of clean lemon that soon turns into a real, freshly made sugared lemonade drunk with your friends in soft morning sunshine on a pretty meadow. It somehow brings nostalgy and childhood memories. Lasting 2-3 hours on me, which is a lot for this kind of "cutesy" little gem. Really enjoyable and for days when you want to feel like a child again.

I haven't been the biggest fan of Fresh's fragrances... they usually strike me as either too sweet (cannibas santal, apricot fig) or too sharp and harsh (sugar lemon) or I can't smell them at all (sugar lychee). Brown sugar is a rare winner, and is well balanced. When first applied it's dominated by zesty lemon, but soon enough the subtly sweet carmel/amber is introduced, making it airy, yet delicious.

I wanted to get myself a sweet fragrance, so I went to the department store to try Fresh Brown Sugar and the new Prada Candy. Fresh Brown Sugar is a light, sweet and citrus scent with a lasting power of about 2 hours. It is the type of fragrance that you would love to smell on your female colleagues in the workplace. A nice summer fragrance.
