Cucumber Baie

I've loved Fresh Cucumber Baie for years, it's a classic for warm weather. It's deceptively powerful, so no more than two spritzes is fine - it opens with zippy citrus, dewey greens, melon (not harsh though) and galbanum but it's not sharp, there's a calming, cooling cucumber note throughout, with a musk, amber dry down. I have to say, this perfume is a surprise, it's very enjoyable, soft, easy to wear, and long lasting. It's similar to the original W by Banana Republic, stemmy, refreshing, and green. Perfect for that office mate who hates perfumes, it's under the radar for sure. Fresh needs to bring this perfume back.

This is a really fresh fragrance. For me there aren't many smells more refreshing than the smell of a cucumber. And this fragrance is the essence of cucumber like no other. I just got a 50ml bottle and I cannot stop sniffing my arm! If you like cucumbers you will like this. If you love cucumbers you will love this.

This is a crisp cucumber scent,as if you were slicing field cucumbers in a garden after the rain. While the scents themselves aren't similar,this gives me the same feel as Demeter's "Dirt". A fresh,natural fragrance suitable for men or women.

I have been on the hunt for cucumber/melon (and/or) and I saw a bottle of this (long discontinued) fragrance on eBay for a good price. Checked every review I could find, and almost all of them were overwhelmingly positive, with the additional common feedback that this perfume was powerful and long lasting. I wasn’t into the cucumber scent craze when it happened 20 years ago. Wasnt into green or herbal fragrances, either, though they were part of this same craze (actually this started in the mid-90s). It’s not that I didn’t like the scent of cucumbers, I actually loved it. I just didn’t want to smell like a cucumber, is all. I wanted romance, which, to me in those days meant... Amarige. However, in my 40s now, I have deeply missed how wholesome, refreshing, and cooling these scents were. They were rest and relief. Refreshment. Calming. Also, they were universally pleasing to those around you, especially in summer. How nice it was to smell this refreshing, cooling scent on others as they pass you on the street. A little olfactory gift. A much needed drink of cool water on a sweltering day. And now that I am older I’ve realized that romance can be found in almost any perfume, if you love it, and you know how to wear it. So I went ahead and got this one, and it’s everything it was said to be. I have exactly 0 regrets! Big success. Long lasting. Powerful. Beautiful. Cooling. Cucumber. Citrus. Refreshment. The amber is such a nice touch, giving it depth. It’s a tiny bit more “perfumey” than I had anticipated, but it had to be in order for it to last as well as it does on ones skin, I suspect. The next perfume in this genre I ordered was CSP Cool Tropic Palm (discontinued) which is a melon/watermelon rind fragrance, with lotus. It’s a big bottle so I believe these two cucumber/melon fragrances will probably be all I will ever need in this lifetime, of this type of scent. If you are like me, and long for a quality Cucumber option for summer, this one is worth hunting down. It was originally fairly high end, but I bought a half full bottle (the bottles are only one size, 3.4) for a very fair price. Not outrageous. I don’t imagine there are many out there searching for this one. It came out on the market over 20 years ago, and is mostly forgotten now. But it’s a very good one.

I cant get over how great this fragrance is. I only have a small amount left in my vintage bottle, and now i cannot find it on ebay. Its long gone. I am a pro at hunting down vintages but this one might be truly lost in time now Its a shame because i would buy another bottle in a heartbeat even if the price were tripled. Its a gorgeous and very long lasting cucumber scent. Smells absolutely divine on a hot day. I get compliments every time ive worn it.

This was SO fresh and cooling! I wore it when I lived in Las Vegas (110 degrees F), and it really cooled me off. Why have most of favs disappeared?

Like if BBW’s cucumber melon was less sweet and sat in your bathroom cabinet for a decade. Got that old person musty smell underneath.
