Fresh Life

To me, THIS is Southern California in early to mid-spring. Not any sort of coconut beachy concoction. This is citrus groves and fresh chaparral and new green shoots damp with late season rain. This is what I smell when I go hiking in the foothills after a wet winter. I have yet to find any other fragrance that captures it. It makes me sad that most other people only smell household cleaners in this. I blame American companies for putting citrus into all their cleaning products; many other companies in other countries use lavender. I wish everyone could experience being around citrus trees and chaparral in a Mediterranean climate at least once. It's soothing and uplifting at the same time.

I am tough on the lighter, more refreshing scents because so many are just bland and boring. This is one that caught my interest through a random Sephora sample. Most Fresh scents last a couple of hours, at best, but Fresh Life is different. It's citrusy, without being obnoxiously so. I like how it seems so similar, like a scent you might have worn years back, but yet it is unique enough never to be dated. Great summertime scent if you don't want to bathe yourself in perfume and smell like you'd been mauled at Abercrombie if you break a slight sweat. I have my two summertime favorites now: Fresh Life and Philosophy's Loveswept.

I just realized what this reminds me of. I am about to age myself here but there used to be an extremely popular vic secret line in the mid 90s that they could not keep on the shelves bc it was so popular. It was called moonlight magic (not bbw moonlight magic) and there were two colors. One was pink and one blue. This reminds me of the blue one. There was a mist with shimmer blue with matching lotion that was the best thing I have ever smelled in my life. This is similar.

Love this fragrance for the spring and summer. The citrus notes are not subtle at all -- nor are they overpowered by strong base notes. And it smells so green and fresh -- like spring in a bottle. This scent really vibed with me and I received many compliments when I did where it. I had a 1 oz bottle that pumped a hefty spray with every use so it felt like I ran out very quickly. It was gone within 4 months. Definitely time to repurchase.

I am new to collecting perfumes. So far, this one is somehow still my favorite. It just works for me. It is heaven on earth. The only problem is it does not last at all. I have been searching endlessly for another possibly higher quality perfume that smells similar but lasts longer or has any projection. Aside from Aerin, which I don't love bc it is not strong enough, does anyone have any ideas? I truly LOVE the smell of this one.

This is one of my 'work' scents - simple, clean. Non-stop compliments when mixed with generic Iso E Super (long after I am able to smell it anymore). I am a Response Nurse for a very large assisted living community and I am on the run from one building to another quite a bit - as I get hotter both of the scents come back to life which is a very nice quirk.

My favourite fragrance to wear on extremely hot, humid days. This is a suitably fresh and inoffensive fragrance that sits close to the skin. It is what I use when going to the gym or have an active day out in the sun. The notes that I detect the most on my skin chemistry is the cucumber and watery notes. This would make a safe blind buy for sure.

Sharp citrus opening, grapefruit really stands out, I like grapefruit, so its good - it softens a little as it dries, but remains very citrusy on me - I am not getting much of the florals, was hoping the lilac would stand out more, but is still a nice bright citrus, great for summer. It has amazing longevity!

Sadly this is not long lasting but wow is it gorgeous. I'm transported to a morning at the beach. The notes mingle beautifully, and the scent feels so fresh. I just wish it could last longer!!!

Loving how subtle the citrus is on my body. A morning time shower fresh. Solely bought this as my workout perfume!

just bought this in the 10ml rollerball! this is my first freshie AND citrus scent !! i am suuuper picky when it comes to citrus fragrances since i feel a lot of them do not suit me, but i actually like this a lot (probably because im a fan of bergamot) ! it goes on very sweet, with the stars of the show being the grapefruit/orange note. this opening quickly dissipates into a earthy moss note - super refreshing!! perfect fresh out of the shower clean scent <3 only negative in my experience with the roller ball is the poor longevity and the fleetingness of the opening notes.

Grapefruit, followed by more grapefruit, followed by a little bit of cypress in the drydown (I actually smelled iris in there, for some reason). Look - if you love grapefruit, this is going to knock your socks off. It's a punch in the face. Some people love eating grapefruit because it's refreshing, some people are turned off by how sour it is. This is like eating a grapefruit with absolutely no sweetener. Definitely not for everyone. It barely lasted on my skin, so I wouldn't invest in it for myself.

I really love the smell of this, the citrus is (unsurprisingly) fresh and bright. It appears to have been discontinued—it's no longer for sale on the Fresh website, and I can't say I'm surprised, because the performance is abysmal. It disappears within an hour. Such a shame, because it really is a gorgeous scent. Smells like: Fresh-squeezed orange juice.

This is really very pleasant though it lacks longevity. Very nicely blended. The grass note comes through, which delights me because fresh mown grass is probably my favorite scent in nature.

I kind of liked this fragrance the first time that I smelled it and bought a small bottle, but then started to feel like if I wore very much of it or wore it very often, it would start to smell quite unappealing to me. Then I tried the 7 Virtues Grapefruit Lime, which seems to me to have the same overall crisp refreshing grapefruity type appeal as the Fresh Life, but (due to its using only botanical rather than a mix of botanical and synthetic ingredients, I think) feels just purely good to me. And now I do not want to smell the Fresh Life at all, because in comparison it smells really fake and yucky. Unfortunately I think that 7 Virtues is discontinuing the Grapefruit Lime perfume though, so I am glad to have discovered it while I still had the opportunity to buy it.

Good for a tropical beach day. A good clean citrus scent if that's what you are looking for.

I purchased Fresh Life because it smelled light and airy in the store, like freshly cut wildflowers. I bought something else initially, but came back and exchanged it for this, because I couldn't forget it. My husband kept saying, "All I smell is lemon." As the day wore on, it became far too spicy and the floral notes grew heavy. The citrus is quite strong after about an hour, and it only gets stronger. It's giving me a headache now. It's sharp, but not in a clean way. Eventually, it became very floral. I found the longevity to be quite persistent, particularly on my clothes. Smelling a lot like Ralph Lauren Blue now (which I like, but I really have to be in the mood to wear it.) I will be returning this one. :( I used to be a florist, so I'm always looking for that one scent that truly replicates the smell of a cooler full of fresh-cut flowers and greenery. This is not "fresh" to me, but artificial & astringent.

The bright opening smells exactly like Japanese citrus soda that my boyfriend likes to drink. From the start there is a prominence of grapefruit. Also reminds me of Fresca soda. The dry down is rather sharp and off-putting. Fresh should have used their citrus note from the beautiful Brown Sugar, or even from Hesperides, instead of the floor cleaner from Fresh Sugar Lemon. No thanks!

This perfume opens with lemon pledge. In the heart it's full of a distinct note of lemon pledge. For a change of pace the dry down turns into lemon pledge. I can't see myself ever using this unless I get a job as a housekeeper and want to watch judge judy while at work, but still need to convince my employer that I was actually working. Scrubber.

Lovely pretty and fresh notes, but this has virtually no sillage or lasting power, even thought I have been dousing myself each time. I have now used an entire bottle in just 3 weeks, so it's a big no from me

At first it's a lovely fresh, clean scent. That is, when you can smell it. Applied to skin it's gone within ten seconds, applied to clothes it disappears immediately. Absolutely no longevity of any kind. Hard pass.

The Fresh company appears to be focusing more on skincare than perfume these days, and they have declined to get in on the flanker and multilauncher games. Perhaps we should be glad? Fresh Life is the latest launch, after a two-year hiatus during which I began to wonder whether there would be any further Fresh perfumes. I was sad to hear about the abrupt discontinuation of Violet, which was apparently available only in the Newbury Street store here in Boston. Unfortunately, I never made it over there to grab a bottle. I own nearly all of the other Fresh perfumes, as I find them to be generally well-made. The citrus scents are especially nice to wear when the weather is hot, but I also appreciate the patchouli-centric offerings: Cannabis Rose and Cannabis Santal. (Still not sure why they are called "cannabis" rather than "patchouli"!) Life opens with the characteristic clean and bright citric demeanor of many members of the Fresh collection. After a couple of minutes, however, it becomes more aquatic and the cucumber note becomes quite strong. I'm not a big fan of either cucumber or aquatic fragrances more generally, so I'll probably not acquire a bottle of this composition. Just a matter of personal taste.

This is indeed very fresh and someone described it below as close to VS Moonlight Magic. I liked this and someone else recommended B&B Kitchen Lemon hand soap as a dupe of Moonlight Magic. So I tried it and voila: kitchen lemon from B&BW smells almost exactly like Ysatis by Givenchy. Not sure about the lemon part. Can't remember the top notes if they match Fresh Life or not but the top notes of kitchen lemon are very close to Fresh Life. However, let me clarify; the base of Fresh Life does not smell like Ysatis. I loved Fresh Life at first but after wearing it all day the cypress note was grating on me. It never works for me. For me this became headache inducing but I must be sensitive to certain notes. I have never tried Moonlight Magic itself only the Kitchen Lemon which someone else said was a dupe of it. So I guess I'm just sayin' if you're looking for Moonlight Magic by VS try a vintage bottle of Ysatis by Givenchy. I believe it's out of production but you might try a dupe or a vintage bottle.

The top notes of Life are mostly citrusy, but about 3-4 minutes later, the scent becomes less harsh and more refreshing. It almost reminds me of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue but Fresh Life is a lot softer and sweeter. This perfume lasts 2-3 hours on my skin, so it's not very long lasting for an EDP, but since I bought the rollerball, it's easy to carry it around and re-apply it if necessary. I think this perfume is perfect for school because it's very refreshing. I feel like when I'm sleepy, I just put this on and the scent wakes me up. Please try it on your skin before buying though, I know a couple of friends who tried this and the scent is just sour on them.

I received this in a gigantic bag of samples, and picked it out by name. I have read reviews, and as grapefruit and bergamot are two of my favorites, I couldn't wait to test it. I am new to perfumery and am excited to have a bunch of samples to use to test myself.. I honestly got bergamot and grapefruit..... and not much else. I detected the moss (oak moss?) and a floral (the lilac?... smells more like iris to me) on the drydown. A little too much on the feminine side for me to wear without an additional layer of some cypress EO, but i wore it today and got a few compliments. Not bad.

I like it! It's clean and fresh. The grapefruit really stands out for me and I love the scent of grapefruit. The florals are in the background blending in perfectly with the citrus grapefruit but never take over. Very pretty. I had been looking for something that smelled "pretty" but not sweet and cloying like a lot of the mainstream stuff on the market right now. Most of what I wear is woodsy, oriental and deep. I needed a change. I'm glad I found Fresh Life. It's the exact "pretty" fragrance I was looking for.

This is more of a dewy grassy fragrance on me. I do not get a strong citrusy blast at all. I smell citrus but lightly. I smell almost all the notes individually and can pick them out on a singular level. I find this quiet nice. If you are looking for a nice, well done toned down citrus, dewy grassy fragrance this should be yours. It's too tame for me! More of a skin scent I think. Fresh nonetheless. And, projects well.

I have a small sample vial of this in my stack and today I tried this out, it was a citrus blast on initial spray, but I was not so impressed. In my hot, humid tropical country, this fragrance doesn't project at all...! In the next hour this has completely disappeared on my skin. might work for those in cooler environment. sorry I was not impressed with this.

Clean and simple.the opening is kinda of sharp at first but once it's on your skin it's great. Really fresh. To me it reminds me of the Sanrio store and their erasers smelt back in the 90's. Weird right but it's a good memory for me because I loved shopping at Sanrio lol It's definitely work appropriate. It doesn't last too long but it smells great.

Blind buy. Mediocre longevity, sticks for a few hours max. Initial blast of citrus that fades to something distinctly floral, with some notes of wine. I'm not getting most of the long list of notes that Fresh has on their site, but seller did note it was an older batch. Initially wasn't a huge fan, but it's a safe play, and it's not too bad.

This is really nice-- clean, fresh citrus with a gentle moss drydown. I find it lasts all day for me, which is unusual for a citrus frag, and unusual for my perfume-eating skin. It's also a great buy for the price point (I got it for $30 usd on ebay) and it's telling that it's being compared to Aerin, Malle, and Penhaligons.

i’m suprised that so many say this has low sillage! my mom wears this often, and i can smell it pretty intensely just being in the same room as her. i’ve found that it lasts awhile on her too. maybe she over sprays it? i’m really not huge on citrus but she is and seems to really enjoy this scent

My sister and I both love this scent. As I like natural scents more than today's modern "refined" scents; this a light aquatic fresh scent that is simply wonderful. The smell lies between citrus elements and lilac. Go get it if you like fresh natural scents.

Very fresh but not very light, very good lasting power and sillage (which is not that common with fresh scents). Can be even overpowering and cause a headache. I personally love this scent and find it very pleasant.

This smells like a den circa the mid-80s right after your mom wiped everything down with Pledge while wearing a bit too much Charlie.

I put too much on and it took on a plastic sickly scent. If used very lightly it's not too bad. Luckily I only have a sample.
