Plush

I received a vial of this in a sample swap from another member and was excited, as I had smelled nothing from this company. From the vial, it smelled intruiging, but I gave it to Mother and she filed it away. As is our custom, periodically we go through samples and scents and pass on what we do not think we will like (or just plain does not "cut it" on our skin). This is one I took back, when Mother decided it should go elsewhere (to be worn better and appreciated by someone else) and now, I am really torn about. To keep it or not to keep it?... This begins a tad bitter with a light undertone of sweetness and the almond blossom is dry and almost powdery. Sandalwood is evident from the first application and persists throughout its duration. The dry bittersweet opening and the heavier oriental type basenotes tend to occlude (or hide) the peony and lotus I had hoped to find. As it develops though, there is a bit of spicy floralcy and smoothness. This scent is quite smooth actually, in general, almost creamy in its overall "feel". Red berries add a slightly tart tang to it, but are not very noticable (to me, anyway). The drydown is where the sandalwood really comes out and the musk and orchid add to the mystique, but are not overly flowery, or overtly feminine. This does have a "plush" feel to it, like crushed velvet or nubuck suede (not leathery, but smooth and comfy). I believe the mens would work better on me. It is much better, on skin, than I expected from sniffing it in the vial. Sillage: good Longevity: above average Overall: 3.25/5 FUBU (I've been told) stands for "For Us By Us". A company of clothing made for african americans BY african americans; and I can see how this would really be more wonderful on a dark skinned woman than a fair skinned chap like myself. Someone with a musky skin type would really bring the basenotes forward and maybe more of the flowery nuances as well... I like it, but will pass it along.

there's a bit of tart berry at first, otherwise, it's a very smooth, sweet soothing scent. it lasts for six hours on me.

This was a blind buy that I got for a dirt cheap price of $9.00. The notes listed seemed right up my alley. I tried hard to enjoy this one but it just didn't work for me. First, let's talk about the bottle. The atomizer nozzle sprays a heavy squirt, as opposed to a mist so it is difficult to control the application. I could deal with that if the juice was wearable. Unfortunately...the opening smells heavily alcoholic, synthetic and harsh. It takes a long while to dissipate and then it softens enough to allow some peony and musk to emerge. However, I can't get that initial impression out of my nostrils. I shouldn't expect much from a perfume that was budget friendly but the composition of this one is off. No wonder it was for sale so cheap. Did I even buy the same perfume the other reviewers on this page described? Sadly it's been designated to the car as an air freshener.

If you're not familiar with the FUBU brand and what it stands for, please Google it. I'm not sure what this cost when it was first released but coming from an exclusive ( or inclusive ) brand of it's day, it was surely not as cheap as it is to buy now...so to call it a "cheap" perfume is not necessarily fair or accurate in my opinion. I feel that way about a lot of "cheap" vintage perfumes that have been forgotten or never took flight. I wasn't fond of the bottle at first but it's grown on me and found its way into my glass display cabinet with some of my other faves. This one is a burgundy velour tracksuit. It's me curled up next to a fire with a glass of wine. It's the hot steam of my breath in the cold air on a starry night. It's a feeling of warmth, safety, comfort and coziness....it could even be construed as sexy because everything listed above might get you in that mood. Plush was the perfect name. It reminds me very much of Avon's infamous Night Magic. It's musky, dusty, and creamy...like a vintage cold cream. This one has really grown on me over time and I wear it when I want to chill at home...and sometimes when I'm feeling melancholy, not because it cheers me up but because it just sits with me, like a friend who doesn't need to say anything, so I don't feel alone. FUBU Plush is a feeling....

It is a very airy vanilla scent, and it is charming and almost delicious. I expected it to be quite flashy - orchid and cassis are not modest ingredients - but it is very soothing. Personally, I think it is in the same league with Burberry London (they share the same creator), and though it loses to it in longevity - it is just a little more strong then the a good quality body spray, it won me over by being so unpretentious and natural.There is almond in it - not sure about the flowers - but almond mousse is there. Reapply and enjoy! The bottle, however, is hideous, but it`s packed in such a pretty black velvety box I can forgive it.

I thought it had a very nice fragrance. It simply refused to hold on me. I tried to mix it with unscented lotion and that brew did not work. To me it is a pleasant scent that will never get you arrested by the Perfume Police.
