Agua Magnoliana

I have been trying several magnolia-based scents and narrowed it to Malle's Eau de Magnolia, which is a lovely scent. Then I got a sample of this and tried it alone; then direct comparison on opposing wrists with Malle. At the start, this magnolia is wonderful, it wafts out from the body, supported gently by a background of jasmine and a deeper note of sandalwood. It is a marvelous and substantial blend which unfortunately is only sustained at this pitch for a couple of hours. By hour four the primary scent is that sandalwood with a hint of floral notes, still pleasant, but missing the star note. It is an expensive and well-made perfume, if you're willing to renew frequently, or looking for something more substantial or perhaps masculine than Malle's Eau de Magnolia brighter and greener (and longer-wearing) option, would consider this scent. And I still haven't decided, it speaks well for the world of perfumers and perfumery that I have (at least) two very good magnolia options, albeit at $200 to $300 / 100 ml.

I'm starting to think this house can do no wrong. Every single one I've tried has been outstanding. This one is just as great. I think Julian and I have similar taste which makes me very happy because it's hard for me to find a brand where I enjoy every fragrance. It is a beautiful magnolia. That's all you need. It's very fresh, almost aquatic. What is front center is of course the magnolia flower. Perhaps there are other notes like Jasmine that support the construction, but there is nothing that takes away from the beauty of the magnolia. One of my favorite florals. I am critical of fragrances that don't smell realistic. I'm not into a floral fragrance no matter why it is combined with if it doesn't smell realistic, almost hyper realistic. I assume it is difficult to do, but Julian does it so well. This is a short and sweet Report and any additional comments are really unnecessary. This is exemplary as a fresh floral.

This is really blissful. The simplicity and delicacy of the notes really. evokes the smell of flowers after a heavy spring rain. It opens with a slightly rotten smell, like decomposing leaves, which is very pleasant to me. Longevity is not awesome, but I wouldn't expect that from something like this so I'm happy to reapply. I don't care if anybody else can smell this on me I'm just happy to smell it on myself. All that being said, I got this for free because my friend works at a perfume store and it was an abandoned tester, and I would really struggle with paying over 300 for another bottle of this. I would probably do it but it would hurt.

The second really good perfume from this house (also love La Cautiva). Aqua Magnoliana was really good surprise, when the shop assistant sprayed it on me. It is soft watery, fresh magnolia, I went several times back to try it again and again. Unfortunately it does not last on my skin, so I doubt if it's worth buying. After all, Fueguia is pricy. One day, maybe.. the smell is gorgeous Edit: it does last on the skin, it needs to mature at first (few months I guess). Very lovely!

Lovely, feminine and delicate. It smells like water running off hair and skin washed with magnolia-scented shower gel. Don’t overspray though, or it becomes far too sweet and annoying — even on the wrist. I enjoy it when I wear it with Musk Therapy of Initio.

The opening is so gorgeous! Amazing and feminine hit of magnolia, so full of life - natural smelling and simply intoxicating, so much vitality in a single note! The jasmine plays a different kind of role giving just the slightest hint of indole to make this a bit naughty. "Aqua Magnoliana" though never crosses the line and never gets too naughty. It becomes more "watery" as it develops, but not the kind of watered down feeling I sometimes get with supossed aquatics. Here the watery feeling is more of a summer rain - cold yet warm, refreshing and full of body, not just plain as it sometimes happens with aquatics. The magic goes on for an hour and a bit more - then it's gone and I'm left with warm sandalwood with just hints of former glory of magnolia and jasmine. A pity! It lasted for some 7 hours in this sandalwood phase, close to skin though.

Opens with a very obvious sandalwood, the floral stays in the background creating a scent that reminds me for a moment to a fruit, like a green unripe grape, tart. The sandalwood stays and (for my taste) is a little unsettling, I wish it would go away so I can enjoy the floral notes. Most fueguia fragrances use notes that blend into each other, creating new ones. But Agua Magnoliana keeps putting forward the sandalwood. It's basically a sandalwood fragrance, the floral notes have little to no chance to shine. Although the opening may be more feminine, the middle and dry down (which is the best part) may be perfectly masculine too. This is a very personal fragrance, so you should try it to make your own decision.

A lovely soft floral scent showcasing a nice aquatic magnolia. The perfume opens with this note and as it starts developing one gets hints of citrus, jasmine and finally sandalwood. This is probably as nice as it gets in capturing the sweet soft smell of the magnolia flower. If I have a quibble it’s that the addition of jasmine takes away from the pure magnolia smell. The feminine leaning perfume has moderate sillage and good longevity. Will be absolutely beautiful on a spring or summer day. Enjoy!

I'm reading reviews saying it's bright, fruity aquatic and that's not even close to how it smells on my skin. On me the opening is deep spicy woody mildly floral. Honestly it kind of smells like floral coca cola lol but in a good way. After it sits a while the floral notes really come through and it settles a bit sweet, woody,creamy. I'm not sure how anyone sees this as a summer scent. Very autumn to my nose.

Fresh, watery magnolia scent. Really lovely. Perfect for a spring morning, when the weather is just starting to warm up after a few days of rain. After a couple of hours a really beautiful warm sandalwood note starts to come though, it balances out the floral notes but doesn’t overpower them. This house is great at realistic naturalistic scents.

I value Fueguia a lot. They have awesome scents. This one is not really for me. Its not bad but I think there is something missing here. I always love how deep Fueguia scents are. I can only smell the floral part of this. There is no wood here! :< but if you like strong floral scents this one is made for you.

Soft and easy to wear. A gentle floral with a clean, airy feel—but not particularly distinctive.

From reviews I expected some quite soft but simple white floral, and a fairly authentic smell of magnolia in bloom. I couldn't have been more wrong. Or perhaps that's what you'd get on another skin than mine. A hint of an aquatic opening, gone within minutes, and then this magnolia-ish scent. Like one had taken the flower and drowned it in springs first sharply tart bark of rowan tree. On me it is synthetic and only promises of what could have been. No jasmine, no sandalwood anywhere and no drydown. It stays the same for about 5 hrs and then vanishes without a trace. Florals generally are tricky on me as they tend to get too heavy, too dense and just too much, but this one behaves nothing like that. It's not unpleasant but certainly nothing I'll try again.

So this one is pretty simple. Three notes; a couple of floral notes and a basic wood base according to the scheme on here. It’s nice. I think the opening is the best part of the fragrance - the magnolia has a very simple and sweet smell. The latter part of the fragrance turns a little bit feminine for my taste but maybe not so much for others. The sandalwood interacts with the flowers most of the way through; expected, almost cliche, actually. This is not quite my cup of tea and even less my cup of tea when I see the price. I might wear this some if this was given to me for example, but I’m not sure this would be used up very fast if it were on my shelf. Probably at least worth a try.

I seem to be the only one here who finds this...verging on foul? It reminds me of cheap men's cologne. I don't get a soft floral or sandalwood, just a hit of something that might be used by someone to hide an unpleasant odour. I used a sample bottle and the scent -- I hesitate to call it that -- spreads outwards. I'm chucking this.

This has joined my favorite magnolia perfumes: I already love Aqua di Parma's Magnolia Nobile for its bright and breezy optimistic feel, Guerlain L'Instant for its creamy, delicious character, and now this one--the third to complete the magnolia trinity-- Fueguia Agua Magnoliana. Why is this the third to join the other two on the magnolia altar? Because it is the most interesting of the magnolia fragrances I have tried. I can detect a realistic lemony, waxy-leaf magnolia. I can also smell something sweet far in the background that is similar to the scent of watered-down fruit punch (barely noticeable). And the jasmine in this has that indolic gassy smell that I always notice when I smell real jasmine sambac oil. Jasmine grandiflorum is sweet, like Lush Lust. Jasmine sambac, when indolic, can often remind people of moth balls, urine, or to me--gassy, like a belch. This hint of the slightly unpleasant is what makes Agua Magnoliana distinctive, and also more real. I grew up in the southern US, and I have smelled magnolia trees--a few different species. The ones with white petals that grow near swamps, as well as the ones called "tulip trees", Liriodendron tulipfera, which are also in the Magnolia family, although most people do not think of them as magnolias. This perfume brings back childhood memories of the tulip trees and their oddly-colored yellow-green and orange-ringed blossoms. These blossoms would get heavy, fall off the trees all heavy and busted apart, looking like a secret Area 51 plant species, and smell a little of fermenting decay.

Gorgeous composition containing all the major facets of Magnolia, a watery effervescence, a hint of butteriness under the white florals, and a fresh touch of lemon. It's one of the simpler and less intense creations by Fueguia, but one of my favourites in terms of quality and commitment to capturing accurate scents.
