"Cassis Is the Case" The scent is overpowering, in the figurative and best sense of the word. The purest and most exquisite black currant, I have found during my long search, in recent years. Although this perfume does teem with fruit (here: the black currant), IMO, the scent is fit not only for spring or summer; it successfully will find application during the autumn rainy weather, or winter frosty days. Projection: incredible. Longevity: simply bringing me to my knees (> 12 hours, without re-application). Miraculous! Amazing!! Marvellous!!! The creator of "Alguien Sueña" – Julián Bedel – relinquished building up a traditional fragrant pyramid. The notes in this concoction have been organized in the form of a mini-Solar System: the central star is patchouli; around it, in smaller orbit, ylang-ylang sneaks past (literally and figuratively); while in outside orbit, of the greatest length, revolves the above-mentioned Cassis. With all that being said, the scent does not make me giddy. Not at all. "Alguien Sueña" does make a wearer feel the “Centre of the Universe”, around which do revolve, glittering in a thousand of tinges, the fresh fruit and the blooming flowers.

Beautiful fragance, it smell fruity, fresh. It felt like an explosion of passion fruit on my skin. The experience on Fueguia Atelier was really amazing.

According to the official catalog of the brand, Alguien Sueña is a fragrance described as fruity, which I completely agree with. This review will address the Parfum version, tested on the skin. Although unisex, as every Fueguia fragrances, I consider it much more feminine than masculine, what deserves a little more attention and, above all, I advise avoiding buying blindly, if you are a man and is not adept of very fruity scents that tend to female. But, obviously, it depends on numerous factors and I am not here to compromise or label fragrances. Alguien Sueña is part of “Jorge Luis Borges and Friends collection”, which is a journey through the imagination of Borges, unmasking fragrances behind his works. It’s composed of notes of cassis (on output), ylang-ylang (at heart) and patchouli (at the base). The fragrance is fruity, with that bittersweet aspect. The presence of cassis is extremely strong and the impression I have is having put some Jell-o powder on the skin, with that artificial aroma before contacting the hot water. After a long time, it evolves into a more floral scent, getting less nuisance and more balanced. Honestly, the patchouli was not present on my skin, which is a shame, since its bitter and earthy nuances could have been very well used in this composition. In my opinion, it is very feminine and if worn in hot climates has everything to go wrong. But I'm sure that, if worn by a woman, especially in colder days, it will draw a lot of attention.

Really interesting notes that produce a most unexpected scent when combined together. Cassis seems to be popular lately (Enchanted Forest, Aedes de Venustas, etc.), but this perfume stands out to me as truly unique. Rather than smelling like a forest full of trees, this smells like a single cassis bush planted in the ground with purple, juice-engorged fruit shining in the sun. There is such beauty in its simplicity. The black currant note is very juicy and it is mixed with patchouli and something else that smells like vanilla. There is a sweetness in it that is something different from fruit juice and seems creamy. I don't notice anything floral. At times it smells like a fruity chewing gum. I am grateful that the cassis doesn't smell like body odor on me, as that is the problem I have with Enchanted Forest. I love this perfume because it is nothing like anything I have ever smelled. It challenges my nose. The notes don't seem to go together, and yet the end result is so appealing.

As always, Fueguia 1833 perfumes are hard to describe. They are like mini stories that evoke a place or a moment. Alguien Suena is like a walk on a wild garden, green and slightly bitter like a poisonous weed. Then the Ylang Ylang and black currant bring some sweetness, making the scent more wearable and loving. But, at one point when the patchouli and black currant collide, I get a medicinal smell, not too strong but a little unsettling. The dry down seems to be conquered by the black currant then suddenly the patchouli comes back to life and what I get is a scent similar to a mint plant that used to grow in my house when I was a kid, I know this smell...I know this smell...and bam! back to my childhood. Green, slightly spicy and bitter. Alguien suena is an interesting fragrance, for sure one to test before buying. Not really my type of scent. I still prefer Humboldt from the whole Fueguia 1833 line.

Ever heard of the saying" In the forest you have no wifi but you will find a connection"? That's what this scent brings to mind. I think the refreshing naturally sweet berry scent is well paired with the patchouli and ylang ylang in this. it starts of watery, fresh, bright and sweet (think natural like honey rather than candy sweet). It stays that way for quite a while, before the patchouli and ylang come in to bring more depth and a velvet touch to it. I'm very impressed by the overall longevity and sillage from this house, this particular one radiates a short distance from oneself, like a scented bubble space and stays forever when sprayed on clothes. If I hadn't already splurged on a bottle of Vagabond Prince, this would have gone on my list to buy. I am not saying that they smell identical, but the vibe they give me is the same. A scent of peace.

I am wearing this today as I work my through a batch of Fueguia samples ordered from the NY boutique. This is quite nice and refreshing. I agree with the reviewer who mentioned lantana. I used to ride horseback on a ranch with areas of heavy lantana growth, the plant and flowers have a distinctive odor when crushed underfoot, and this is making me nostalgic. I also enjoy that what I think of as the Fueguia "base" is NOT featured in this. I don't miss it. Edited to add: I am getting faint whiffs of a note that doesn't agree with me in the drydown. Vaguely bottom of a hamster cage... I get this with most Fueguias, as well as some other highly rated fragrances such as PDM Carlisle. A certain cedar, perhaps? Wish I knew exactly.

Tart and fruity opening, I don't get much ylang-ylang, which is okay with me. I wanted to try this one because while I love patchouli, I've never liked ylang-ylang. Does it have indoles(?), because that's the feeling it gives me. The heart is nice, with just a hint of patch on me, after the slightly overwhelming fruit in the beginning. I've had it on for a couple of hours now and, oddly, the dry down really reminds me of CK's Reveal. Slightly aquatic and floral. Interesting, but too fruity for me.

To me this scent is all about taking a black currant leaf, crushing it between your fingers, and smelling in the sharp greenness and sweetness of it. It is a very nostalgic scent to me, that reminds me of gathering black currants from the bush when I was a kid. For that, I like it. Longevity is great and sillage is strong.

To me, smells like grapefruit and wood. An acidic blast during the first two hours, then turns woody and ureidic. Reminds me of my childhood when I used to visit my grandfather's field in the Chaco and played down the fruit plants (specifically the grapefruit). I like it so much!!!

I was wondering if there was any fragrance out there that smelled like lantanas and this pretty much fits the bill. While I tend to be pretty adventurous with perfume, this is good stuff for smelling - maybe not so much for wearing.

Very unique take on a patchoulli fragrance! It's simple, fresh and almost watery. I like currant in some fragrances, but can be too fruity. In this one, it seems they used more of the leaf than the fruit, as it's more green, almost minty fresh, with a touch of fruit. When I think of ylang ylang I think of Chanel scents, flowery and feminine and exotic. But here it's slight, mysterious and not feminine at all. This is a suprisingly nice, etheral scent that can be worn by male or female and likely great for Spring time.

For my nose Alguien Suena was a discovery, because I have never ever came across a fragrance that would smell of green fresh nettles! On my skin it's a linear nettle solifloral. The base gets a little sweater and does remind back currant leaves. It's a really nice fragrance with a very good staying power. Made me smile :)

Scent - minty green patchouli. Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, day or night. Projection - I didn't get noticed, I didn't get a compliment. Longevity - I get 10hrs consistently.

i am so glad this brand was added to the fragrance directory. being an argentinian perfume lover, i can't wait to finally visit the fueguia shop! "alguien sueña" sounds marvelous :)
