Arábica

I just received a 5ml of this today. I think the formulation I got is different. On the card is written three notes.. Coffee, Tobacco and Hazelnut. No Vetiver.. On the card I get immediately the hazelnut. On my skin it is a very intens dark coffee. Really good and I think quite butch. For masculine men for sure. I don’t know what the Vetiver would be like in this composition but if they replaced a nutty Vetiver with the Hazelnut then I am glad they have done that. Very personal, I love Vetiver but not the nutty variety. The hazelnut I like here. So far I am quite content. A good strong coffee scent. For some reason I come up with the idea in my head to add a dried fruit note instead or with the hazelnut.

Imagine the bottom of a cup of excellent espresso. With its creamy sweet and oily on the edges and with the aroma still warm. Or, just get your mustache dirty and savor... Add soft tobacco and a beautiful smoky vetiver in the background.. Well, you get this scent. Simple and elegant. Sweet, sometimes succulent. Masculine and partly unusual, with that particular but unmistakable vetiver that I also get on Hornero and which I personally LOVE. Arabica is a really good coffee, with an elegant tobacco texture, with excellent durability, even on clothes and a good, close but pulsating sillage. It's also a compliment magnet. Which easily propels him to the podium. Handsome!

Beautiful simple masculine scent consisting of only three prominent notes. The perfume opens with a delicious roasted arabica coffee note, proceeds to a leafy tobacco heart and settles on an earthy bed of vetiver and plant based musk. The scent has moderate projection and good longevity. Pricey, and truly only for those who value quality over quantity. Enjoy!

I wanted to hear what was described in the note: 'The aroma of roasted coffee in an accord of roots and fermented leaves.' What do I get in the end? A cloud of finely dispersed cocoa powder with sugar, settling on the glands from lollipops filled with coffee. After a while, I feel a candy on my skin - a bar and soy chocolate. Extremely realistic gourmand, almost edible! Very long-lasting. After 6-8 hours, through the sweetness, dry autumn leaves emerge, slightly bitter and dusty. The scent of coffee beans lasts for about 3-4 seconds, as soon as the perfume touches the skin. You want to say, 'Stay a moment!' But no. I bought a bottle of this from the Harrods boutique in London in December of 2023. I smelt it in the shop and quite enjoyed it and it had a sale on so I purchased a bottle. The scent in the store was amazing, however the bottle that I received has always from the day I bought it smelt completely different to the bottle on display. The one I received smells like someone poured a glass of whiskey over themselves that is so strong it immediately attacks your nose. Straight oak barrel and alcohol smell. I don’t know if I got an off batch or if this is truly how it smells and the display denatured so much it actually became pleasant. No tobacco, no vetiver, straight whiskey. Anyway, I’ve had this perfume in my collection for almost 3 years now and it has not even been touched more than 3 times. And every single time I was left with regret. And I’ve even really tried to like it as a standalone scent. I’ve tried my best to layer with my sweetest gourmands to cut through the smell and maybe capture some coffee, but I have not succeeded. Make sure you do not get an off brand juice like me.

I think it's very masculine. It lasts a long time, in that I sprayed this before 8am, and at 5pm in my local coffee shop the owner asked me what fragrance I was wearing, he could smell it from 10 feet away. So if projection and longevity is what you look for in a fragrance, it will get you noticed. However, maybe I was having an off day, but it smelled a little like petrol. Not exactly, but I think the benzene in petrol is a little like the vetiver in Arabica, a sweet, woody aroma, and as it's claimed that many aromatic compounds in fragrances are derived from benzene, maybe I was oversensitive today. Fueguia rarely disappoints, but coffee and tobacco combinations rarely work well for me. I've tried Adi Ale Van's UMBRE, Nuit de Megeve, Or Intemporel, Shihan (Sensei), Toscanello, and several others. The only one that hit the spot was Paloma Y Raices from Homoelegans. I need to spend a little more time with Arabica before I decide if I want to keep or sell this.
