Cactus Azul

One of my favorite summer scents and like most Fuegeia 1833 creations a very simple fragrance. The top note is a beautiful cactus flower, the middle note is Cedar and the base is a beautiful natural spearmint. The perfume is therapeutic, balmy and transportive, taking you to arid South American Atacama, with the beautiful cactus shrubs and cedar trees. Beautiful blending, unisex, with moderate sillage and projection. The only drawback that it is discreet given its simple natural note structure, has fairly linear development. A calming and beautiful scent. Enjoy!

This is so good. It’s fresh, herbal, and green. The three notes are blended so beautifully. I love mint in perfumes but there are so many that get it wrong - this, on the other hand, is perfect: fresh and crisp without being toothpaste-y. The cedar is a great foil for the mint, bringing some depth but not making it too heavy. The whole frag smells like walking into a really posh office or homewares store. It is linear but I don’t mind that. Best for hot weather, straight down the line unisex. Decent longevity, moderate sillage.

A very well-blended fragrance for the summer heat. This is a fragrance I'd want to bring with me when I travel to Florida or Southern California. Lately I've been obsessed with the cedar and mint combo. It's such a compelling alternative to the lemon / bergamot opening that dominates the men's summer fragrance market. Another one with this combo that I'd recommend, and that I love even more, is Rose de Jamal by Les Indémodables. Alongside cedar and mint is added a plentiful amount of rose, true Damask rose, which creates a far nobler impression without sacrificing its breezy character.

An aromatic green scent. It remains basically the same since the beginning, but this doesn’t disappoint me. Very good for sunny and hot periods. The longevity is very strong and i can feel a lot on my skin

Cactus Azul is a very unique scent. I've never smelled a freshie like it. It's very linear and stays the same as it opens, from beginning to end. It smells fresh and watery with a very subtle touch of green. I've classified it as fresh, aquatic and green, but have to qualify. Aquatic in this case is not like the ocean nor salty. It's like fresh water (i.e. no salt) without any hint of staleness. The green touch is not very strong but very subtle. I'm assuming it's due to the mint note but the green is not minty but a leafy plant type of green, very subdued. I was quite impressed by the uniqueness of Cactus Azul. Unfortunately, in the performance department it was at aftershave strength. After the first hour, it hung very close and by the second hour it was gone. Too weak to bother with it.

Wood with mint adding a subtle crispness to the scent. I don't detect anything floral at all.

I don't know what the cactus flower smells like but I can confirm that this perfume is somewhat... spiky! And it's super green and natural! I have tons of very citrusy cedar and a little spicy wild mint that sits dry on the skin. Fresh green and astringent. Not something I would wear often since it's an overdose of cedar on me, but it's a valid, mature, present perfume and ..expensive.

Im not a fan. The combination of these notes gives a star anise vibe...with dandelion stem on the back end. Not my jam at all.

I visited the shop in Milan in September 2022, after making the orbit around the huge circular perfume display, I kept returning to this one. The green, elegant, juicy almost creamy cactus and sparkling mint was addictive and intriguing. Sadly, they were out of stock, so I left the shop with my 2 runners-up, Misiones and Amalia Gourmand. I intend to add Cactus Azul to my collection, its unique beauty is still haunting me. A note about the Milan shop, mediocre and luke-warm service skills demonstrated by the 2 staff, I wanted to discuss the perfumes and received recommendations, but the staff were not interested beyond giving a basic description, which I could have read off the bottles. No samples included with purchases. I don't expect free gifts, but targeted samples will drive future sales, especially if the customer has made a purchase a couple of bottles. A sample of the out of stock product would have been greatly appreciated. It was a beautiful shop aesthetically, but there was no magic or excitement in the atmosphere. I had waited 3 years to make this visit, as I told the shop assistant. I would be just as happy to order online in future, as the shop left no impression that would make me want to return and experience it again. On the other hand, Lorenzo Villoresi, Aesop, 10 Corso Como, and many other perfume shopping experiences in Milan were marvellous.
