Manglar

Vetiver by Guerlain was once (before reformulations) my favorite scent of all time. After that I used almost every Vetiver I could find but mostly looking for that earthy/wet/rooty one and with that grapefruit note the Vetiver by Guerlain had. Vetiver is strongly dependent on “terroir”. It can be smoky, nutty, grassy, wet or rooty. I personally loathe the nutty variety and I don’t like the smoky one. Manglar has a rooty/green/fresh and perhaps a bit wet/grassy kind of high quality Vetiver. I love the addition of olibanum which perhaps gives it a bit of citrus. Something inbetween grapefruit and lemon. The cedar makes it woody and with the olibanum calmes down the (too) butch character that a Vetiver dominated fragrance often has. A very nice, grounding Vetiver or Cedar fragrance if you will.

Cedar done right. Beautiful and fresh. For everyone (age, gender) and for everyday but special enough for your special event. Simply amazing. I fell in love with it at first sniff. Got a sample at a company boutique in New York. Came back and got the biggest bottle they had. Great for men too. Especially if you are a sophisticated kind of a guy who is well groomed and likes to look sharp. I love it on me, it is simply beautiful. Perfectly unisex.

Beautiful simple natural scent designed to evoke the feel of South American mangroves. There are only four notes that I can detect: a rooty vetiver, a delicate cedar, a subtle incense and green grassy notes. The scent is peaceful and earthy. Masculine leaning with moderate sillage and excellent longevity. Perfect for solitude and meditation. Enjoy!
