Manuela

A simple and natural treatment of the narcissus flower. The central narcissus note is surrounded by only three other notes. First is an unusual herbal note which I gather is the Mexican thistle flower and plant. Then finally as the perfume settles one detects cedar and plant based musks. The slightly feminine leaning scent has moderate sillage and very good longevity. Very pretty and also like most offerings of this line, very linear. Enjoy!

Like Fueguia's other florals, there's an ozonic/steamy/calone-like musk in there that dominates a lot of the composition, especially in the deep drydown. However, Manuela is balanced out by a nice, somewhat bitter, green/botanical/leafy/grassy/hay note. It's alright, feels a bit like an essential oil soup if you ignore the musk. I'm not particularly impressed personally (also, not getting any narcissus from it whatsoever)

When I gather herbs from my garden for soup, salad, or another dish, some of them are sometimes in bloom. I find myself wondering whether to add these flowers as well — not narcissus, of course, as we know it is not edible. This fragrance gives me that very feeling. I would not wish to smell like this myself, but for someone who has a beloved summer garden far away, it could serve as the perfect reminder while sitting in a city office.
