Muskara Aquilaria

I would consider myself an oud lover, though not an expert or connoisseur. I recently picked-up a 5ml atomizer of Muskara Aquilaria together with a 30ml bottle of Biblioteca de Babel (which itself is a very good fragrance). I own many oud based fragrances and I can honestly say that this is one of the best I've gotten my nose on. It is 100% natural and the ingredients are clearly high quality. It is syrupy smooth and almost smells like liquid gold. The fragrance opens beautifully and then slowly transitions. These transitions are nuanced and will be discerned by experienced noses only. I find the oud to be slightly herbal and not so animalic. I own ouds from Areej Le Dore, Bortnikoff, Ensar Oud, et al and I find Muskara Aquilaria to be quieter yet smoother. The price is clearly on the high side but perhaps justified by the quality and quantity of the ingredients. My only criticism is its lack of oomph (it sits close to the skin without much of a trail). Definitely worth sampling if you can get your nose on it.

Today I realized that it's not impossible to describe fueguia muscara aqualiaria. This is a mixture of 5 very, very complex ouds and depending on the weather, skin type, they can open up like never before randomly. Yesterday it opened up on me with dirty and warm water with smell of a dirty washing machine hose, or dirty unwashed old dog, today this fragrance opened up with the smell of a "cat's paw" and wool socks and at the same time it opened up on my girlfriend with cold skin .... very sweet caramel with jam. Not French acid drops montpensier, not chocolate, but ordinary caramel with jam inside. Incredibly sweet.
