Valle De La Luna

Opens with a a full, natural, carroty iris. This shortly makes way for a familiar creamy, coconuty sandalwood with a palo-santo like impression. The amber is a bold and anchoring force to the two otherwise gossamer notes. There is faint clay-like suggestion on my skin, evoking the perfume's eponymous landscape. I see an indigo sky and feel the warmth radiating from dry earth at dusk. Both simple and complex in its evocation. Stunning, but I will need to test again in cooler weather.

to me, smells like this vintage powder compact from a shanghai cosmetics brand my mom used to keep in her bathroom but never use. i'd sneak into her bathroom just to smell it. perfectly powdery and balanced with earthiness from the iris. the iris is more unusual than your average sweet iris scent, it is more green smelling! its simply an enveloping, soothing, comforting scent that i just cant get enough of.

I sampled this a few months ago and this immediately reminded me of Santal Complet by Fragrance Du Bois. I actually prefer this over SC because this is more natural smelling and more powdery. Need to revisit this the next time I visit the store but so far this is a strong like for me. 9/10

Powdery bliss of a scent intended to evoke the feel of a lunar terrain, an otherworldly desert. The scent opens with notes of iris with slight hints of tropical fruits and coconut. And then it settles on a lovely sandalwood and amber. A simple elegant construction with high quality ingredients, the unisex scent has moderate sillage and excellent longevity. Elegant, lovely, understated. Enjoy!

I have a beautiful departure of purple iris butter, cosmetic a fruity thread. It warms up with a woody sandalwood and a spicy amber base that takes it in more masculine, usual and alas a bit boring directions. Amber takes over. It is a bit syrupy, sour of olibanum¿, spicy. A little pointed. The first 4 hours are exciting, the rest are infinitely tired. Ing and yang.

This one's very similar to a woodier, less leathery - overall simplified - version of Iris Cendre by Naomi Goodsir. It also has some cold, spicy, carrot-y, clove notes into it and it's rather nusky (think a more perfumey Iris Silver Mist, or a less floral Opus Woods Symphony). I enjoy it for what it is, but I wouldn't wear it. Also it gave me a headache later on.

Starts off absolutely wonderful, drydown unfortunately reveals synthetic molecules as they take over more and more over time and ruin this beautiful iris fragrance. Would have loved this without that synth stuff

I think I enjoyed the iris (almost violet-like) floral scent in person but there's a slight burning plastic secondary note that I can't tolerate... I might give this one another shot and consider selling it.

Valle de la Luna is often described as mineral, but on skin it reads primarily as dry woody–resinous, not stony or chalk-like. The opening is immediately arid, built on pale woods and thin resins rather than mineral facets. The texture is matte and desiccated, yet organic — closer to dry wood and warm air than to rock or dust. As it develops, a light resinous warmth emerges, slightly smoky but never balsamic or dense. The resin does not sweeten the composition; instead, it adds a subtle glow beneath the dryness, maintaining the fragrance’s restrained and austere profile. The structure remains linear and controlled, with no real expansion or softening into comfort. Projection stays intimate, forming a quiet aura rather than a trail. Longevity is moderate, consistent with its low-density construction. What defines Valle de la Luna is dryness without mineral coldness. It is austere, spacious, and emotionally distant, but more woody–resinous than mineral. For some, this restraint may feel too sparse; for others, it is precisely this disciplined simplicity that gives the fragrance its distinctive, contemplative character.

I can't believe I've had this sample FOREVER... Even smelled it when I first received it in store. But, for whatever reason, never have I ever really appreciated this beautiful scent. Definitely natural. Definitely unisex. There's a lot going on, but on it's face its an earthy, iris-y, sandalwood-y, amber fragrance with a touch of coconut in here. Perhaps coming from the Iris and sandalwood combo. Gorgeous and high-end. Can't get much higher than this, imho. Steer clear of this house if you, like me, lack self control and are not filthy rich. Also, albeit my fragrances from this house haven't diminished (to my nose, at least), I would not stock pile expensive natural fragrances. They tend to go first.

a very dry, earthy, and powdery iris, reminiscing of violet or even leather in its intensity. I personally prefer sweet iris accords, this reminds me of Iris Malikhan, attempting to pull a unisex feel and strong performance, but losing the delicateness of the flower.
