Yaguarete Edition 2016

In pursuit of imitating animalic musks, Fueguia distills the inanimate essence of ambergris and civet to rebuilt the hormone from some secret plant-based recipe. It's science with the slightest stain of magic. Fueguia finds the base molecule of these beastly excretions then intensifies their process to achieve a precision that can only be found in the human world. Yaguareté is bafflingly linear. It's musky and bright and sweet and salty. The ambergris does not feel synthetic or ammonia-like and the civettone is neither heavy nor oily. Still, this fragrance offers a sodden regality that is as alienating as it is enchanting. Projecting bold and deep, the sample brew I doused myself in in-store lasted over 8 hours on my skin and 96+ on my clothes. My nose phases in and out of olfactory fatigue and every time it relocates the scent, I am flattered. I wouldn't describe the sensation as pheromonic, but there's some pharmaceutical neural-receptor reuptake inhibition going on here... the excitement hits my brain before my body. Yaguraeté is animalic in the way humans are mammals: intellectual to a fault, ever-dirty, ever-cleaned. It slyly defies nature while proving its magnificence. I don't need to think about whether or not I enjoy this scent or why. I just do. It's instinct. I feel eyes all over me when I wear this fragrance. I would have been embarrassed by the heaving sillage if it weren't so precise and natural. I see how people restrain their sensory organs in my direction. They fight some primitive reflex with the discretion of their civilized conditioning. There's no climax... just persistent curiosity.... Fueguia peels away the rind and pith of the natural world and offers us a chimeric jewel. The pricing rivals few, but the more I wear this fragrance, the more the labor and passion becomes evident. Every fragrance I wear and buy will henceforth be known as a purchase before and after Yaguareté, respectively.

An interesting discrete and sophisticated powdery musk scent designed as a tribute to various feline species roaming the Patagonian forests. Fueguia uses various plant based derivatives and isolates from the civettone family including synthetic variates of musk, civet and amber to create an animalic mix that recalls a subtle feline musky smell. The linear unisex scent has moderate sillage and very good longevity. Very much recalling the jaguar whom it is named after, this is a restrained animalic delight. Enjoy!

2023 5ml size of this with the same described notes on Fueguia's page does not smell anything as expected, it's very loaded with synthetic spice molecules, got the sample from Fueguia directly so there was certainly no mix up. Way too many aromachemicals, I am very disappointed. Just sprayed it once and the whole room was filled with synth spice, big no from me. I own and love some of their more natural "single" note perfumes, which are fantastic but in this case the added modern molecules ruin it like they do in many of their blends

Don't expect to smell civet or some animalic note in this perfume. There is a slight synthetic musk, very soft and very close to the skin, almost imperceptible.
