Vanilla Haze

It starts as a heavy, clean vanilla with nutty, musky overtones. The muskiness reminds me of a wet fabric, like heavy, warm wool. I would definitely say it's more of a strong vanilla at first, not light and airy, at least if you smell it up close - but it has a lighter, more gourmand and enticing aura that it also ages into on the skin beautifully. A heavy and sickly (I say this in a positive way) sweetness that reminds most of caramel. It is indeed like caramel. It's a thick, heady sweetness. The title "Haze" is perfect as it feels like being literally in a "vanilla haze." Despite the heavy caramel notes, I don't find it to be overly edible or synthetic smelling at all - it is more musky and earthy. I sense some almond in the nutty, earthiness of it. It ages into a sweet, light caramel vanilla (more gourmand in the traditional sense) that I absolutely love. It lingers well on my skin and clothing for hours upon hours. It's always a delight getting a whiff of myself before bed after putting this on in the morning. It's the kind of smell I want to bury my nose into, like fresh angel food cake. Subtle and sweet... also, to me it smells like Lush Super Milk after it ages on the skin, but a bit heavier and without the citrus notes that super milk has. In a way I can't quite pinpoint, it is less gourmand as well (Super Milk will literally smell like oatmeal cookies and make me hungry as I'm wearing it). As someone who likes both, I don't really see the Bianco Latte similarities beyond their listed notes.

this is my favorite perfume right now--let me explain. there is a surprising, odd-but-pretty opening: a strong whiff of cool, vanilla mint. evokes the sweetest girl at the dentist's office, inappropriately dressed receptionist, white laminate floor tiles and toothpaste. synthetic freshness mixed-in with the gourmand elements. auntie anne's cinnamon sugar pretzels at the indoor mall. mannequins and junior mints, hard plastic lawn chairs. old fashioned powdered donuts and the 2006 iMac G5. i can't explain why i enjoy this strange and brief opening so much, i just do. BUT THEN that all fades away into a more universally appealing light custard, tonka cream, doughy vanilla! it's cinnamon sugar brioche with a really refined, elegant cashmere woodsiness. it's like bianco latte's rich, scandinavian (slightly more mature) cousin; it has the same milk-and-sugar DNA, but not as chokingly, imposingly honey-coumarin sweet. this is pure sugar donut in the foreground, vague coconut milk in the background, all the mint from before is gone. i absolutely love this. you just have to be amenable to the orbit sweet mint gum opening, which i obviously am.

Immediately I get a medicinal almost cool take on Tonka - it has a "Band-Aid" or plaster smell that I get when others say "Tonka bean + nuts" - in this example it is hazelnut. I love this phase. I was afraid Vanilla Haze would be a juvenile smelling vanilla cookie but instead it has these strange elements that at first are quite disparate - Bandage/nut/vanilla/slight smoke and leather aspects of the tonka bean. About a half hour in it sweetens and softens a bit - I get the caramel, cashmere and musk aspects - fuzzy warm milky musk. Still not a straight up vanilla gourmand. It is definitely perfume - I don't find a single aspect of this to smell "edible" but it definitely exudes a sexiness caramel+white amber+ musk can have. I really wanted more mandarine, jasmine and coconut. IF those start to shine through, I will come back to this review for an update. It reminds me of a "perfume" version of Alkemia's Ghost Fire but without my beloved salty aquatic aspects of Alkemia's Ghost Fire.

Okay to start, I’ve had my bottle of Bianco Latte sitting for a few months because it just has this burnt tire smell to it that doesn’t mesh with me (and I’m hoping it’ll grow 💔), so I was kinda nervous when I saw the comparisons. My brain is kind of glitching out because the minute I sprayed this on my skin, it really did smell like BL immediately...but without that rubber smell. They have some big distinctions that stop them from being totally alike; BL is THICCCC, while imo, Vanilla Haze is so, sooo much softer and lighter on me. It’s this comforting, warm, soft creamy vanilla. Someone said it reminded them of Dulce and I definitely agree! But I would even go as far as to say this is a batter version of that (and I love Dulce!) Really torn between saying it reminds me of warm, vanilla ice cream (with an hint of chocolate) and crème brûlée. The longer it sits on my skin, the more obsessed I get with it.

this perfume doesn't try to be anything it isnt , it is vanilla . exactly as advertised. it is a VERY VERY VERY good vanilla . if you want vanilla and have the money you will not be going wrong here it almost smells candleish, in that it registers much higher in the nose , in a good way . it has a nice airiness to it that makes it a bit more mature . its a very lovely high quality vanilla with a nice little unmentioned mintiness. it smells...cool. like literally temperature cool, and for that reason it conjures images of icecream, but there's also that little creme brulee moment that makes it smell toasted. love it . its sophisticated without lacking the simple pleasure of vanilla. why fix what isn't broken? vanilla is not broken and it never will be. this perfume will never be broken either. it also projects very nice, you will get compliments . and it lingers Rather well i dont regret, so good
