Fulton

We were out Christmas shopping when we wandered past a men’s gift stand, and of course I had to stop — I know Fulton & Roark well, and their solid fragrances are a winter staple for me. I started playing with the wax pots, showing him how I use Highway 190 as a base because the wax warms with body heat and slowly releases more scent throughout the day. He got curious, tried a few on... and that was it. Instant love. Fulton just fits him. On his skin, the scent is manly without being sharp or nose‐piercing. It’s strong in that intimate, magnetic way — the kind of scent that makes me want to lean into his neck and stay there. The mandarin peel opens then quickly develops warm spicey leathery with a hint of smoke. The vanilla and plum show up as soft sweet hints, lifting the fragrance just enough so the smoky amber and labdanum don’t get too heavy. It’s inviting, warm, and quietly confident. Then the cedarwood comes in, adding this woodsy comfort that feels so natural on him. He loves it so much he even puts a little in his beard so he can catch whiffs of it throughout the day — and honestly, it works. The wear is fantastic. We live on a horse farm, and this is one of those scents that doesn’t clash with our everyday life. It blends right in with leather, hay, fresh air, and the rhythm of the barn. But it also cleans up beautifully — the same scent that feels grounded and rugged at home becomes smooth and refined when we head into town for a date night. Fulton & Roark on him is just... right. A scent that feels like him, enhances him, and lingers in the best way.

Fulton reminds me almost exactly of French Avenue Liquid Brun, even though the notes listed don’t line up very closely between the two. Fulton has a pleasent blend of spiced and sweetness with just a hint of vanilla in the background. If I focus really really hard I can barely get hints of floral and citrus as well but they are very very light. Performance wise Fulton is good but not stellar. I got just under 6 hours of wear time on my skin and at max 3 on my clothing. A 4/10 here. Projection wise Fulton projects nicely but without a ton of overall strength. At my best estimate it projects 6-8 inchs from my body. A 6/10 here. Overall I very much enjoyed Fulton it has the same beautiful scent profile that I found myself enjoying in the past in Liquid Brun and Althaïr but with weaker projection. Which in this case I think is a plus since it makes Fulton more werable and easier to reach for. The main issue here is I feel this scent area has been oversaturated to put it mildly, this is still a 7/10 overall for me! While unoriginal it still smells very nice!

Pleasantly reminds me of walking into the swirling aromas of various flavored pipe tobaccos in a 1980's Tinderbox Store. There may not be a tobacco note in this at all but it's where the scent takes me regardless. I think its the incense with the olive that are giving a faint new leather wallet vibe as well. Pretty decent nighttime scent but I personally would not be pulling this off during the day unless there's a cool breeze and you're about to go do something really butch.

Haven't tried Sherzo, but this is good. I got a musky ethereal opening with a blonde wood and a hint of incense drydown. Second wearing and I totally got the saffron and plumb. Nice fragrance

To me the incense comes across as slightly smoky leather instead and with a hint of fresh orange, smells very similar to a 2014 Dior Homme parfum.

Smoky and sexy. I really enjoy this one. It reminds me slightly of Kheir's 7 Minutes.

This is a nice fragrance, this DNA is definitely not in my wheelhouse though. It reminds me ever so slightly of Scherzo, or a few other things I've smelled before... Has a slight plastic-y vibe in the opening. The dry down has the smooth, slightly sweet vanilla, mildly smoky base - could see my husband wearing this.

Really interesting. Like a distant cousin of Babycat or Oh The Audacity, but more commercial and wearable. Those ones also have the tendency to turn my stomach a little in the heat, and I see this as less likely to do that. Its kind of what I was imagining Coeur Noir from Heretic would be, a way less smoky vanilla. For me personally, I wish I was getting more mandarin/tea/saffron and less incense/wood which will probably stop me from buying a bottle.

This is a spicy ambery men's fragrance and I felt whatever about it but I got a whiff of it when a warm breeze blew over and it smelled so good. I think the hot weather and the ambery scent with some tea and mandarin makes a fantastic summer scent. It smelled like a man with warm skin in summer. Definitely try in warm weather.

Upon first impression and although not exact, this does bear strong resemblance to something like Tom Ford Cherry Smoke. Take a look at the notes for both and we'll clearly see why. Even the color of the sample is purplish red.
