Lost Man

I'm kind of surprised that some people don't think this performs well. Maybe it's just my chemistry, but I wore this to watch a big sporting event and I could smell myself in the crowd all night. The hoodie I was wearing when I first sampled this smelled like Lost Man for days afterwards. I'm happy about that too, because I think it smells amazing. I wear it as a woman but I do tend to gravitate towards more masculine coded scents, and I would say that this is on the masc side of unisex. Immediately after spraying, this smells like a fairly typical aldehyde-heavy department store men's cologne which kinda scared me initially. However, that quickly disappears. The citrus notes are there but it's more of a zest smell than a juice smell. It reminds me of an orange peel garnish. There is a faint but grounding resinous note as well (I'm guessing that's the elemi). The middle notes have an almost Terre d'Hermes quality, which can be explained by the geranium, but it's not quite as earthy as the Hermes fragrance. Imagine Terre d'Hermes if you were to swap out the flint for leather. The dry down is a bit grassy but I'm also catching something powdery in there that doesn't seem to be listed. Maybe it's just my nose, but the bottom notes feel like a fougere to me. I think this is pretty nice. I enjoyed my sample spritzer but opted for the solid perfume rather than the full size bottle, which I feel is overpriced. I'll try to remember to update this when I get the solid version.

I read on the Fulton & Roark website that this scent is named after a hiking trail near Aspen, Colorado. I lived in Colorado for seven years and did my fair share of hiking, and I think they nailed it with this scent. It's subtle, woody like evergreen trees, herbal like sagebrush, and a little dusty. I don't get the citrus notes themselves very much at all, but that's not a downside for me--they add the impression of sharp, fresh air rather than coming across as citrus, per se. I think wearing this on a hot day will really make me nostalgic for summer hikes in the Rockies.

Overall pleasant floral and leather blend, coming off almost smoky and citrusy in the opening. Generally pleased with the scent but disappointed by performance.

lost man is definitely a very forest-y citrus-y scent. i think its very masculine but can also be worn in a more feminine way. its like if you took an orange peel/lemon peel and smushed it into the dirt of some foggy ominous forest. very earthy, very mysterious-smelling if you think of it in a "woods hike" context. the citrus does turn a bit sour after the drydown which is a shame. the projection is pretty mediocre sadly but i think this scent is made to be worn for the wearer rather than anyone else. i think my main issue with this perfume is i cant really see a use-case for it. its too earthy to be worn when its hot in my opinion since i dont think heat and dirt scents mix that well, and its too citrusy to be worn when its colder. could be a fun scent to bring with you when backpacking or camping since its meant to be a woodsy fragrance, but i digress lmao. if you want a citrusy earthy masculine fragrance, this one is great.

The citrus and sage in this are really nice. It's got a slightly dirty note to it, like you've up and picked the sage yourself and there's still dirt clumps to it- maybe the leather? It's pretty bare-bones, and it disappears almost immediately. I spilled a good bit out on myself and the scent was almost completely gone by the time I made it from bathroom to car.
