Meravigliosa

My love comes from the first half of this fragrance, which resembles a sweaty orange. It’s beautiful and intriguing, the skin-like sensations of the saffron really stand out here. Very sensual, but then taking a hard left with the following heady leather rose. It’s straightforward, it’s done well, but I miss my sweaty orange!

I don’t find that the bottle matches the perfume on this one - it doesn’t scream red/orange to me. I get mostly leather when it dries, backed up with a smoky saffron and some floral rosiness. It’s not a dirty leather - more like the clean white leather luxury of an expensive car (rather than, say, a cigarette-tinged biker jacket in a bar). I love both Black Saffron and Bibliothèque but I don’t feel like Meravigliosa is much like them - BS is more plummy and B is more violet. However, they all have a leathery core in common - so maybe they’re cousins rather than sisters. The performance on this is quiet. 2 hours tops on me (although perfume never lasts the distance on me). It doesn’t throw very far, as much as I can tell, but not all of the perfumes need to be screamers. I got this on a half price deal so I don’t mind so much but I would feel short-changed if I’d paid full price. All in all, I like it, don’t love it, wouldn’t invest in another bottle, but I’ll enjoy it while I have it.
